Hi All
Thanks for all your detailed replies. I had a skoda v6 Automatic 54 plate for 10 years and loved it but i had a water leak and loads of electrical problems from it so i decided to let it go.
I came across the kodiaq after looking at The Skoda Approved dealership site on line. I to thought i would get a good deal if i brought the car through Skoda before the 30 September when the use car deal ended.
It wasnt until i came to purchase the vehicle that the Skoda Approved dealership runs a two tear system.
The delaship i got my car from only offered me 3 months warranty were i was lead to beleave i would get the deal as stated on Skoda web page
They told me they were Approved Skoda dealership but opted out of the deals as it cost them a lot of money and allows them to sell the cars cheaper but cout the customer more in buying extra warranty
I walked away shocked and felt mislead i called Skoda customer service and even the call handler had never heard of this and had to get confirmation from a manager who took 5 mins to get back and confirm.
I did go back to the dealership who gave me 12 month (not a Skoda one) warranty to clinch the deal and its them who gave the service plan (again not Skoda)quote.
Skoda asked me to fill out a survey on my experiance on buying a used Skoda and i explained as above but no body from Skoda contacted me. Sorry for going on but thought i would let people know that even though dealerships fly the Skoda Approved fly they dont all work to the same principles as Skoda Uk would like you to belive.
That said i did get a good deal in the end and the spec i wanted and the salesman at the dealership were good to deal with.
Again thanks to all for the advice it has been a great help and saved me a lot of money
Ps just in case some of you dont know (i didnt at the time of purchase) if you want to have a toe bar fitted i was quoted £3500.00 not a joke i was told that the 1.4 engine has to be adapted with diffrent up grades to radiator, water pipes and other parts to allow the engine to cope with the extra load
