    Roof bars

I have the genuine roof bars, they are quick and easy to fit, fit well and I've had no problems with them, they seem well made! Had mine about 6 years, 3 cars.
  2. Like everything else in life it's all down to personal preferences. I would prefer a low reverse and first gear but I compromise on this and manage with what I've got.
  3. I think it's a contributory factor but the engine is quite peaky! One thing I wish the yeti had was a low box like a proper 4 wheel drive vehicle! 1st gear and reverse are too high for any off road manoeuvring, like reversing a trailer in a field!
  4. I think that the engine is quite flat at low revs but picks up quickly. Power doesn't come in straight away like a big torquey engine but jumps in quickly, you have to keep it singing and use the gears. I hope this makes sense! Anyone who's ever ridden a two stroke will understand.
  5. I think the trim is from the inside of the door handle! I.e. Inside the car on the rear of the chrome pull handle!
  6. Glad you like the 1.4 the power is quite surprising isn't it! As a matter of interest, what make of tyres did yours come with, mine is fitted with nexen tyres, I always thought these were a budget tyre!
  7. In a word yes! That's one of the reasons I got genuine seat covers from skoda, they were quite expensive but are a perfect fit, over the last 4 years they've kept the front seats like new and stood up to farm muck, dirty overalls and paint marks. I've been very pleased with them.
  8. I use the car for work so seat covers are a must really! Genuine covers mind!
  9. Hi all, I'm now on my third new yeti, I've owned a 1.2tsi SE in 2011, a 2 litre 140bhp SE 4x4 in 2013 & now have just collected a 1.4tsi L&K 4x4 on pch. Initial impressions, (only done 23 miles) the engine is a lot more sprightly than the others but reminds me of a two stroke motorbike, haven't been too many changes really over the years. I like the quartz grey, brown leather upholsterery is a bit brown but hey it's on a 2 year pch and I'll have seat covers on.
  10. I've just got the spare wheel and tow bar as options, added about £15 to the order. I would have no hesitation in giving Simpsons a call and asking for a quote.
  11. Definitely need a spare wheel! I used mine on three occasions, once at home and twice on other people's driveways. I'm awaiting a new yeti on pch and have added the spare even though I've only got the car for 2 years. Everyone to their own though.
  12. Can you use the free 5 days skoda insurance? Also, is this a Simpsons Preston deal.
  13. Which dealer is this from?
  14. I've just paid out £1k for a new clutch, flywheel and gearbox bell housing and that's after Skoda contribution, last year it was £250 for a new dash panel. 35k miles and 4 years old, wish I'd had extra warranty. You takes your chance with luck!
  15. There is a good will offer from Skoda, still expensive though!
  16. The instrument display was dead, other electrics worked! Rac man told me that the immobiliser is part of the instrument cluster, I thought it was an excuse problem.I'll give them a call. Cheers
  17. Yeti, 2012, 2litre diesel 140' se spec... Shock, horror, the other day my loved yeti wouldn't start, got the rac out and he diagnosed an instrument cluster problem! Rac recovered yeti to my local dealers, two days later they diagnosed an instrument cluster fault. They say it needs replacing at just under £1000! Has anybody else heard of this problem.. Ve had the yeti from new and always dealer serviced.

    Oh deer!

It wont be a cheap repair, it could be a little dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Try Allams at Epsom, Beth or Linda. We had very good service from them.
  20. used the free 7 day insurance twice with new skodas and it seems very simple and straightforward.....
  21. In reply to Weyland - Heated windscreen, imho is well worth having, usefull at many times all year round, i have had it on my last three cars and would hate to be without it. Silver roof rails are just the standard black ones sprayed silver for extra ££s, i wouldn't bother with them. Hill hold is handy in a manual car although i have never had on my own cars but have experienced its use on others i have used, I have never had experience of it on an automatic, nor have i ever felt it would be an improvement. One addition i think is worthwhile is the spare wheel and interior rubber mats.
  22. I think it is Dubai wher james has gone, i conversed with him on facebook, he is selling mercs i believe. Just to update on our car, everything is as expected and thoroughly pleased....
  23. I have had a dealer fitted genuine towbar on both my yetis, both fitted on new cars from Allams, the removeable westfalia is superb, very tidy and neat. I would ask your dealer for a price on this. I rang around for prices on the new yeti and Allams supplied and fitted cheaper than i could get it done locally. Regards J
  24. Just reading the caravan club awards and really pleased i got the 140 - AWD under 1,800kg category winner. Yayyyyyyyyy.
  25. Many thanks, our 1.2 was a MY11, the 140 is a MY13 I realise that the 140 is heavier with the rear diff and driveshafts but the car is stiffer at the rear whereas in theory the extra weight should make it sloppier i thought that perhaps the rear coils were different, perhaps in length or rating! Regards, J
