  1. Does anyone know of a good lumbar support that I use in my Skoda Fabia vRS. Really get an aching back after an hour or so now. Any good reviews? Preferably something that doesn't break the bank and that holds itself in place. Thanks in advance
  2. I recently found the same oil leak problem. Can anyone direct me to a good guide on how to remove, clean and replace the egr? Thanks
  3. Still wasn't happy with my air con performance so I have booked it on wednesday to have it checked for leaks
  4. Thanks everyone... I managed to get my car to feel cool eventually in the hot weather but had to have it on full for a good 10 to 15 minutes for it to get the temperature down. to maintain it I then had to keep it on fan setting 2 with coldest setting.
  5. I recently had my air con re-gassed and cleansed at the Skoda dealers. Since having it done it doesn't seem to get the cars temperature very cool. Normally I would expect to get out of an air conditioned car and to feel warmer when I get out, however I actually felt cooler when I got out the other day. I had the air con on for at least 40 minutes (mainly motorway driving) on a minimum fan setting of 2. Does anyone have the same problem or know of any possible solutions to make the air con work better? Thanks
  6. Slightly off the main topic here.... were the dash dials expensive? Are they fairly accurate?
  7. I have had rattles with both my Skodas, they are like part and parcel with Skodas I think haha..... I have found where some of them come from (one is the panel where the end of the dash meets the door, this is especially bad when cold) Other than that there is always some rattles and squeaks and bumps (front suspension bushes are a common squeak when going over speed bumps). Its just a case of listening and finding each one to solve them
  8. I have had rear seats out many times... never the front though, can anyone direct me towards a good set of instructions (ideally with pictures) for removing front seats? (Fabia vRS - Cloth & Heated)
  9. Looks like a smart way to make the dash trim look smarter. Would be good to see some photos of it when complete
  10. There's a tip for everyone... Let's call them kItten or cat photos so there is no confusion when others see the word pussy! haha
  11. So I'm guessing Lazy Daisy has kitten photos too... right?
  12. Not sure if this is the right place to post this threat, apologies if I got it wrong. My front driver side wheel has been whistling when at slow speeds (30 mph and less) on right hand bends (gentle bends). I had the wheel off to check all the pads etc to see if I could spot anything. The Skoda garage (when it was in for service) suggested that they think it could be the 'Front suspension role bar retainer bracket' as its split, although I am not convinced that is the cause. Anyone had a similar problem or have any suggestions as to what it could be? This is on a Skoda Fabia vRS (2004) Thanks
  13. Have you advertised elsewhere as well as on here? I'm sure you can sell it... they are sought after (so I'm told). I was going to blame the lack of a sale on the fact that you live in a sparsely populated area of the country but with Glasgow and Edinburgh on your doorstep you must be able to find some interested people willing to make a sensible offer.
  14. Saw a sticker on the back of someones car the other day saying: "I'm not a bad driver, I'm just avoiding the potholes!" Anyone know good place that I can browse comedy stickers etc incase I felt the urge to randomly purchase said random items? :wonder:
  15. From one newbie to another... Welcome! I have had 2 Skoda's and never been let down You like your Cavalier's then?
  16. Yep... I've always found parkers to be pretty accurate. And I just checked glass's and it would seem that £3,561 to £4450 is for the standard vRS. Don't mean to hijack your sales thread R1DAVIE!
  17. If you check auto trader peoples values are generally always higher than glass's. The SE's hold value much better than standard vRS. I paid £6000 for mine and that isnt SE, its 3 years older and I bought with 51000 on clock just over a year ago... (granted it has extras like heated seats etc but still)
  18. Yeh, Loz, lets not high jack the thread to talk canon vs nikon :p I agree, a compact system might be a better way to go.. but I think a compact (more modern) camera system is going to bump the price up a lot. Especially later on when you are buying lens. In my opinion I would go with a cheaper (slightly older) second hand SLR, which even if it only 8MP will give better quality results than a 12MP compact as the digital sensor is much larger and gives you much better quality per MP (hope you follow that).
  19. Yeh I didn't mention it before but mine is a 5D and does have buttons on the left of the screen.... I think as far as the canon/ Nikon debate goes everyone should just agree to disagree Cough.... Canon rule.... Cough :p
  20. Touchè ! Ah the old Nikon canon debate, canon uses half the buttons that Nikon does but still has the same functionality of Nikon, you just have to hold a button which then makes each button perform a secondary function. As I say... Canon is my personal preference, both are equally matched though
  21. £200 is a tight budget for a lens and body when talking about SLRs especially considering the fact that you could easily spend more than £200 on a standard point and shoot compact digital. I would recommend canon as I find them easily to work than Nikon who tend to put a lot more buttons on their cameras, canon go with less buttons which make them less confusing in my mind. After doing a degree in photography I can say I have always preferred canon (biased I know but at least I have tried Nikon as well) a second hand one with a budget of £200 might get you a Canon 350D which is old but still a great camera. My last advice would be that the most important thing to get the most out of an SLR is the glass you put on it, always buy the best quality lens that you can afford as this will make a big difference to the quality of your shots. Sigma are a good make of lens for anyone with a slightly tighter budget than the big payers like Nikon and canon.
  22. Hold out for what you want. It's not worth letting go for less than £6100! At that its a bargain!... If I wasn't so many miles away I would have considered it myself and get rid of mine
  23. Looks well looked after... I cant believe you haven't got any buyers at that price is pretty good for special edition! Good luck with the sale.
  24. Finally got a display picture on my profile :)
