  1. Looks nice but a Polo R sounds more tempting.
  2. More posts gone up ladies and gents, not seen any comments from this direction appear on there too (that was a subtle hint :p). If there are any pieces of advice to make it better, please let me know. I know I need to add more photos, definitely going to have to get some of me skating. Shall attempt to recruit one of the kind members of staff for that task .
  3. Loved the snow in my old mk3 polo, got to the point I'd be capable of entering a rally . Hated the snow in my Lupo, automatic box just spoiled it plus the increased value of the car meant I didn't feel like having fun. This year (albeit in Canada) I've got a 1999 Volvo V70R AWD. I'm not too worried but not looking forward to it either. It's on decent winter tyres too.
  4. Stick with the 12 months tbh, for 2 months is it really worth it? No. Also if ideally you want to time your insurance if possible. Just after a birthday. Just after you passed your test. I found a Fabia VRS went from £1500 to £700 by turning 21, having a full 2 years since I passed my driving test and having that extra NCB (2 years turned to 3). Try and keep that in mind when you do your renewals etc.
  5. Even with the possible tail gating tactics that still isn't unimpressive. The superb isnt' exactly a small car. Imagine what the same running gear could do in something much smaller...
  6. I've got all of my automotive photography on http://revolutionz.eu/. Apologies for not posting up individual images.
  7. No worries, I understand. Tbh not looking forward to Christmas. It's just me, mum and dad and I'm not really feeling the spirit. Saying that I've never been into it since I started working.
  8. Thanks Jerry, been for a ride around Halifax tonight. Pouring with rain, struggled to see the white lines on the road! Atm my main frustration is that I've not made any friends yet and that I want to get back into work! Once I get those 2 things sorted I think I'll be ok . Glad you enjoyed reading my blog, when people comment it motivates me to keep writing it.
  9. Thanks . Goes well too :p. Sorry John . Just wanted to make sure you saw it. As for the black and tango combo, I've not seen it? Feel free to educate me on that! I did have a peek around a few volvo forums last night and it appears my car is able to get to 300bhp quite easily and that 400 is readily achievable, as are manual gearbox conversions while retaining the awd. No idea how I'd go about sourcing all the parts though.
  10. If you are going to have a quick Merc just be aware of servicing costs. Very expensive!
  11. I'd of been taking photos, writing down details of the incident then telling them to expect a letter from your solicitor. Why should you have to pay for it when you just watched the fat cow cause the damage.
  12. I hope so too, we will have to see what happens though. Hope you are doing well too, still waiting for you to reply to my last PM! It was pure pot luck how I found it, Mum & Dad's car came from the same garage and I'd intended to have a 2nd look around a Civic (Manual 1.6l $3000) but saw this as soon as we pulled up. Got out, had a look at that was it pretty much. Insurance made me nervous but overall I'm well satisfied, getting bearable economy looking at about 600 - 650km to a tank. It's certainly quick and comfortable enough. Once the summer comes and I'm working, if I'm still feeling the Volvo I might treat it to a lush set of rims and uprated suspension. Don't charge extra insurance for mods here, engine or visual. Laughing . Got to admit I do prefer the shape of yours though and am slightly disappointed that the R wheels are not with my car, I'd guess a previous owner kept them in the garage. As for getting my key stuck, I'd pressed the shiftlock overide button while I was bored and it hadn't quite returned. At the time I was sure it hadn't but assumed as I was stationary the action hadn't happened to trigger it. All part of learning the car I suppose, looking forward to the summer and getting some lush road tyres on it. I do wonder however how much cheaper it'd of been to run the Civic... oh well . Planning on being a truck driver, since getting here though hope to work for Admiral Insurance. Right now I need any job just to get started and get some money coming in again. Area I'm living at (not far from Halifax / Dartmouth) has just obtained an absolutely huge shipping contract in the last few months. Will create around 10,000 jobs. If you got any skills in that area, might be worth looking into sooner rather than later. I'm glad you are all enjoying to read my blog . Comments on it do make me smile greatly (if it doesn't appear instantly don't worry, it's set to admin approval) and would go highly appreciated. Also if anyone has any questions feel free to ask, I'll do my best to help. Will be a post up everyday, my one to write up later will hopefully have some nice landscape shots in. Depends how my photography came out on this occasion! You'll see .
  13. You might want to see what car I just bought in Canada mate . http://the-reality.ca/
  14. Quite a few of you knew I was emigrating to Canada. Now I've been here just over a week, I thought I better drop back in to say hi . I've been writing a blog everyday if anyone fancies a read, comments are appreciated on it too . I do think that there is one member on here who will especially like my new car too . Talk soon .
