Hi, I opened the bonnet of my car last night to see oil had sprayed all over the top of the engine and underside of the bonnet. I quickly spotted the dipstick was raised and so it seemed to me that it hadn't been correctly replaced when serviced by the main dealer 1 month and 1,300 miles ago. When I called the dealer they kindly agreed to fit me in for a check same day. After a quick inspection the manager came to ask me if I had topped up the oil myself (why would I having just spent nearly £300 on a service). It seems that somehow, the engine had been overfilled and the technician had drained 2 litres of excess oil from the engine. The manager tells me that it can't have been overfilled so I'm thinking that all of the old oil wasn't removed fully at the service. The engine bay is all clean now but I'm concerned about possible damage to various components and with just a couple of months warranty to run could I be looking at expensive repairs in the near future? Your thought would be appreciated before I contact the dealer again?
Cheers!
