i just bought them, 2 fronts, 1 red dot 1 green dot, was more annoyed by the fact that the receipt was written out to read "ass/metric"

I just put these on 3 days ago based on the autoexpress review and also on the fact i got 2 shoes all in for £180, initial thoughts are, they are sticky, and like to grab any stone or pebble from the surface you drive over and you hear them all pinging under your car, also was a bit wary as the fitters set them at 2.3 bar as i went to check straight away and was always told that 2.1 bar is recommended, they now have flabby sidewalls as i put them back to 2.1, but i never minded that with my toyos

Wow, i think that solves it for me then thanks alot, current price i found locally is 82.9 on lpg given the 2k conversion and the 20% drop in fuel economy,and i think i would be looking at a 53ltr tank in the wheel well this will only save me about 4p-ltr so, will give the guy at the garage one last chance to convince me, but otherwise its not a good idea i dont think! interesting thanks for the info, am still not convinced that age affects the belt if its 4 yrs then fine but its only 37k so I would think that the more important wear and tear is the mileage?

just to throw a spanner in the works what about lpg anyone done a conversion on a FSI engine?

car is out of warranty so no issues there, the little research I have done shows that certain types of engine need something added to lubricated the valves as they are a certain type of alloy which gets damaged over time, have just had a quote of 1650 for a conversion which includes a courtesy car for the week, based on my current fuel costs I could save roughly 1300 a year which means it pays for itself in just over 12 months, the only concern is additional servicing costs for the gas system as it seems I may need to have 2 services a year 1 on the car and 1 on the LPG system at 300£

Any advice on whether an LPG conversion is a good idea on my 2.0lt VRS TFSI haven't had any experience with this but am looking for any feedback if anyone has had this done usual questions, is it cost effective any performance issues? valve compression an issue or injectors? any useful advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Yeah I'm nr oxford, theres a jewsons skoda in oxford but unsure of other ones as i had my local mechanic do the last octavia, being as this is a vrs i think it deserves to be treated a bit nicer tho

Will take that under advisement, what is the difference between variable and fixed rate servicing anyway? is it just the length of time between services or does one cost more/involve more work?

The service interval is variable qg1 the service manual says to check the cambelt at 55k then every 18k and for 2.0 fsi engines replace toothed belt at 110k or thereabouts This is confusing? anybody know what I should do, another post said it should be done at 40k

ok guess i will look for it then as the super i used was only 97, which is 98 silly i know but most garages i visit only have standard or 97 super

Ok thanks very much, has worried me about the cambelt though as i thought the low mileage would mean the belt would be good for a long time yet, had a 1.9 tdi elegance that had done 7ok before i changed the belt

Hi have been a vrs 2.0lt turbo owner for a month now and have been looking into servicing costs tyres etc, when is the best time to replace the cambelt as mine has only 37k on an 06 plate last service carried out was at 31k in march 2010 when is it best to get it done again? am unsure if it is worth maintaining the skoda service history or to get my local mechanic to do the servicing as the next one will be its 4th service and i understand that is a major one? totally new to having a performance car so any advice is helpful, also is it really beneficial to run 98 ron petrol as current prices have made me steer towards standard 95? cheers for any advice!

Thanks, i think this is the same, as the first time i looked into it in detail the solution was actually dripping out through the boot latch as you described, its not the end of the world to not have it working, but may get it checked out. Does anyone know which tyres are the best to get next time i get some mine currently have non standard alloys poss rs4 replicas and 225 45 zr 94y toyos?

Hi just registered 2 mins ago, i have bought a vrs last month and the rear washer is not working, having traded up from a pd tdi elegance this was the same on that, i did manage to remove the tailgate case and notiged the screenwash was bubbling by the jets and leaking out from the actual motor and into the casing, does this mean the jets are blocked? if so is this an easy fix?
