Black grill surround,? 70 quid r advice
jays replied to mickvrs's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Lol, thanking the working class for paying your taxes and gloating about running your cars on red ain't the wisest thing to do on the net mate. As for your grill, wrap it or spray but sounds like you have plenty of money so you might as well pay someone to do a pro job on it -
Don't know, will be for sale in the very near future lol

I was under the impression these cars were daily drivers rather than purely for the track/strip or am I getting confused? -

Ok, so are you saying it's costing people around 10k to do a sub 6 sec 0-60 or low 13 sec 1/4? -

I understand what people are saying but it's the cost to do this I'm getting at. How much are people ploughing into these cars to get anywhere near a 5-6 sec 0-60 time I'm not into 1/4 mile or racing starts from lights etc etc in my vrs but am interested to know why people would spend so much on one of these to have some so called fun and why they wouldn't buy a car more suited to 1/4 mile in the first place? What figures are we talking eg car + mods to get a vrs to do say a 6 sec or sub 6 0-60 time? -

Nice but what I'm trying to get at is the cost of getting big power/ torque onto the black stuff especially when it comes from standing starts eg the strip and playing with cars that don't have the same problems as fwd diesels? -

Fair enough but at what price? -
Are people actually paying for these dogs?!

A LSD ain't going to help you get off the line any quicker. These front wheel drive diesels are ok for B road fun but ain't worth a **** running big power as it can't be put down especially from a standing start -
Mongrel badly misfiring post quarter mile racing

Took me months to find mine and as you said there are so many overpriced dogs out there it's unreal. Just keep looking you'll find one. After months of searching I found a 1 owner with full history at sensible money, they are out there so be patient -

Is it down on power if so id go for piston/rings -
You sold a mk2 vrs for a mk1 vrs se??
-
Would be intrested in people thoughts regarding the premiems people pay for SEs over a standard vrs? So without getting complicated, two cars side by side, one a SE (blue with leather/tints) average mileage/full history/ 1-3 owners/not abused/ in good condition/ standard spec, not damaged repaired etc etc and a non SE vrs of the same year eg 2007 no xenons etc etc again lets keep it simple Both cars without any performance mods We all know a trader will hope for 2-3k over the top to cover a warranty etc and also hope the buyer signs up to a HP agreement etc so lets talk sensible private values. What would you value the SE at? (private sale price) And what would you value the simular non SE at? (again private sale price) Id say around 4000-5k for the SE and 3500-4k for the non SE
-
Totally agree. As i said, to many dreamers out there thinking they are sitting on something special. Dealers will always have your pants down but you will get some kind of warranty although if buying a low mileage/owner car i cant see the point in paying ott for a warranty myself
-
Well im not sure what the original poster paid for his but it sounds like hes happy with it so thats great but as i say they really aint worth the figures some people dream up. i know for a fact if i was spending 7-8k i wouldnt be buying a 2007 mk1 vrs no matter what condition or mileage. Mines a 1 owner 07 although not a se but if 7-8k is the going rate i cant wait to cash in on mine even if its a grand or two less than a se As for the vrs/se being a future classic i really dont think it will ever be a classic car if you look at the true classic cars of today

Recent pics of your fabia for no reason, just stick em up!
jays replied to Funky Fab's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Its been modified ( plate mount removed and smoothed) can't be bought -
Really? Anyone paying 8k for a blue 2007 fabia vrs with some leather must be mad lol.Dose that mean a 2007 fabia without leather and being any colour apart from blue is worth around 7k then? Think the worlds finally gone mad lol
-
These won't sell at 8k these are just dreamers. Going rate is 4-5.5k depending mileage/ condition etc

Grill colour coded, calipers painted and new style skoda badges/wheel centres on,may add a front spitter and some light tints on the rear but want to keep it looking as oem as possible
