Hi all I think the two noises mentioned - 'ticking' sound from fuel injection prv - and 'diesel' sound on start up have been mentioned a few times but it is always reassuring to hear that others have experienced the same. I remain surprised that with today's technology either should occur. Nevertheless the vrs is a wonderful car. One slightly frustrating sound I hear whilst driving is a resonance from the handbrake relaese button, is this common or just my car. Phil

What a great day! made it hard for ourselves but got there in the end. Like many of you I always used to support all UK teams, of whatever sport, when playing. However life experiences has refined that view, many of the scots cannot comprehend the fact that we, on occasions would support their teams.Therefore I could never support theirs. The welsh and irish, whilst competitors, do not seem to be so small minded.

Is it a ticking noise - almost but not quite the same as a tappet sound - fades when revving?

Has anybody mentioned the 'rain psng into the boot problem to their dealers'? I have had mine 3 weeks 600 miles.. love it! but I will mention the problem (only noticed today) to my dealer and will be interested to hear the response from skoda. Do other hatches suffer the same or is it just this particular design?

Hi Guys & girls had my vrs 2 weeks. Very pleased. Two questions: 1. Sounds like a diesal for 2 sec's when starting from cold. 2. Slight ticking/tapping noise from engine heard after a long run, particularly noticable when in garage and no other backround noise. Fades when revving.
