  1. pipsyp's post in Adaptive Cruise - Enabled via VCDS? was marked as the answer
I think there is more to it.
Control unit, additional stalk (ACC has a separate control stalk on the Octavia), new column shroud (to accomodate the additional stalk), associated wiring and coding I would guess...like most things its probably not impossible with the know-how and access to the right systems but almost certainly going to cost mega bucks.
  2. pipsyp's post in tyre pressure sensor SEL was marked as the answer
Its ABS based, no clever valves on these so no worries.
Just be sure to reset the TPMS once youve changed over and set the pressures as the car will need to relearn the rolling circumference of the new wheels and will likely throw an error otherwise.
  3. pipsyp's post in Early service? Advice please was marked as the answer
Fixed servicing is 10k/1 year whichever comes first....the computer converts Kms directly to miles (Kms being the cars native mileage units) so will bring up the warning early. Mine is due a service in about 1500 miles but its currently saying service in 500 miles....it will therefore be ignored.
On variable its slightly more complicated....technically servicing is then 20k/2 years but the car adjusts the need for servicing based upon usage/oil quality so its best to get a car serviced when it says so on variable rather than holding out to 20k miles/2 years even though the car never starts out on a 20k interval (think its 18.6k miles - a direct conversion from 20k kms).
Im in a similar position to you...due to a change in living and working circumstances my annual mileage rose from about 11k/year to 25/30k....my car is 20 months old and fast approaching its 30k 3rd free service.....I have however taken a company car and my wife now has the Octavia....does maybe 100-150 miles per week compared to my 6-700 so is v much addressing the mileage issue.
Once its had its 3rd service (probably required in the next 6-8 weeks or so) i'll be put on variable and I hope not to have to service it then between that point and the end of the PCP.
  4. pipsyp's post in How do I turn off the footwell lights? was marked as the answer
Should be under the lights and wipers menu under car, setup in the infotainment. You can adjust the dimming or turn them off completely.
  5. pipsyp's post in Mirror covers was marked as the answer
You can get vRS black pack mirror caps from a Skoda dealer parts dept/TPS. What most people do.
Same for the grille surround also.
  6. pipsyp's post in No roof antenna on my vRS was marked as the answer
+1 you'll only have the Sharkfin if you have nav and/or bluetooth + as the unit provides the infotainments GPS and GSM connectivity.
On the hatch the FM and DAB antennas are the top couple of lines in the heated rear screen (hence they dont actually demist the top part of the screen), on the estate they are in the rear 3/4 windows, one side FM and DAB, the other the secondary FM aerial.
  7. pipsyp's post in Retrofit OEM Xenon's - Straight Swap? was marked as the answer
Elegance does away with xenons in place of other useful trinkets which is a bit of a shame but have found the intelligent light assist does go some way to make up for it. Works quite well and its not like you are short of light output with the halogens when on main beam; more than adequate.
Im a bit of a tight ass but wasnt going to pay over a grand for xenon lights dont know about you.
  8. pipsyp's post in Rear wheel arch lining not seated correctly was marked as the answer
Dont panic is completely normal. My 7 month old Blackline estate is exactly the same. Think its partly to do with the fuel filler pipework causing the wheel arch on that side to be a slightly different shape.
