  1. After much deliberation, I have pulled the trigger and sold my 2017 VRS 184 to WBAC. Not a bad price given, all in all - especially as they failed to notice the two knee sized dents in the roof.... Its replacement is a Tesla Model 3. A very different beast....
  2. I've just had the same issue dealt with during a service. The dealer said it was a known issue with a technical bulletin to apply 'lithium grease' to the bushes. So far, so good....
  3. There seems to be no easy solution.
  4. I've just found a similar thread after much googling. Thanks. As you were....
  5. None of the standard ebay seat protectors will fit, due to there being no headrest gap on the VRS seats. Does anyone have any bright ideas as to how to protect the rear of the seats from an unruly 2 year old, other than removing his shoes?! Thanks.
  6. 'Lithium grease' has been applied to the offending creaky part - there's a technical bulletin apparently. We'll see how long that stops the creaking for....
  7. Very helpful, thank you. I've just got back from collecting the car from the dealer after service etc. I asked them but then they said they didn't get involved in selling them anymore and to go online..... which is what I shall do!
  8. Thanks for the information, it may be useful in the future.
  9. Thanks very much. I'm tempted to go for it.
  10. This doesn't appear to be a manufacturer backed warranty, it's underwritten by an insurance company.
  11. Just had an email from Skoda inviting me to take an extended warranty with them, at a cost of around £260 for 12 months of cover. In the past, I wouldn't have bothered, but cars are so complicated now any failure could cost £££s, for example a failed LED headlight. However, looking at the policy document has put me off. Doesn't the wording mean they can worm out of anything, citing wear and tear as the reason for sudden failure? "We will not pay for failure caused by deterioration of a covered component commensurate with its age and mileage." "We will not pay for any costs of repair or replacement of any components where the sudden failure is as result of wear and tear." Hmmm.
  12. Mine won't be 3 years old when it's done, more like 2 years and 348 days. Wonder if they'll try and stiff me?! They're also looking at a few things, before the warranty: Sometimes takes a few seconds of turning over before the engine will fire. Only happens irregularly, but I've read somewhere there's a software update for it. Rear washer has no output. I can hear the pump, but nothing happens. There's rust around the rear wiper spindle - who knows what's happened. Loose pipe? Blockage? Creak from osf suspension when going over speed bumps. It was mentioned at the last service and 'nothing was found sir'. It's got worse since. Let's see what the outcome of the above is, eh?
  13. To be honest with you, for the sake of a tenner or so, I'll have it done at the same time at the main dealer. It's not worth me doing a separate trip to a different garage just to save a ten quidish.
  14. Fixed price at £60. Yep, that's what they've quoted.
