  1. I totally agree about the lights I have Zenon lights and the cutoff is totally inadequate for fast dark lane driving. In my Caddy van I actually adjust my headlights depending on the terrain and if there is traffic in front of me. I do lots of country lane driving everyday and at this time of the year I am not sure I would survive if I was driving my Yeti the same way. :( Other than that I think the Yeti is an excellent allrounder.
  2. I am surprised that the main dealer did not pick up on the symptoms and tell SWMBO that the rear hatch was the issue. I checked with her when I got home after she had phoned me to say the problem had corrected itself. She had indeed opened the hatch and subsequently closed it (properly) prior to starting the car to go to the main dealer. Lesson well and truly learnt.
  3. This could well be the answer to our issue that we suffered this week. SWMBO reported the interior lights and the rear wiper failed to work. I checked them that evening and also noticed the dash display was also locked out and no adjustments were possible. They remained like it until this morning (3nights !!!) when SWMBO phoned me to say it was all working. I think you will also find the dash trying to warn you of the 'open' (but not closed). Least I hope that is the case, I'll check it tonight when I get in. SWMBO will be annoyed with herself, but I also fell for it.

    Boot Liner

http://www.boot-buddy.com/boot-liner-products.asp This really look the business. It has a price to match, but I suspect you get what you pay for. I am very tempted. I'd make it non slip will the rolls of sticky rubber you can buy for as little £3-4. I have used these successfully for several years in my Caddy van.
  5. I am very interested in your comments re the 16 inch wheels. I am very impressed with the handling of my 2wd 110, but I feel the ride is too hard. I had already made checks re changing to 16inch 60 profile and the speed error is only around 2.5%. The factory I assume has corrected that at your end, so all we need now is the info of the tyre size recalibrate. I am very tempted, would there be a market for s/h 17inch rims and tyres :p ?
  6. The fuse box under the bonnet is the heavy duty side of things, the fuse box referred to is at the end of the dashboard. See your manual for explanation of the under bonnet fuses.
  7. Update: Dealer had the car in and diagnosed the Sharks fin and advised that I needed another visit once parts were in. Whilst the dealer ordered a new shark fin and cabling, I investigated and was able to view with some difficulty the connectors onto the sharkfin at the back of the roof. I was not prepared to risk roof lining damage but you can see these connectors by removing the plastic surround for the centre diagonal seat belt that is fastened to the roof. I suggested to the dealer that they may like to view the connectors at the back when I took the car in the second time. They then promptly sorted the fault that morning and phoned me back by mid morning. Worth knowing, you just need to get access by releasing the centre rear roof lining fixing. I simply could not get it to release without risking the lining, hence loads of wasted time driving back a forwards.http://ww1.briskoda.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0120-doh.gif Why didn't the dealer know that all 3 aerial cables are via connectors at the back of the car as well as at the rear of the Columbus?? They had said they would need 2 days to remove the lining and install the new cable loom.!!
  8. Now sold for rubbish money on Ebay. Shame reallyt as it was an excellent car.
  9. Sounds just like ours. Slightly higher mileage also black and no it does not look like a taxi. Stretch it a bit and it would make an off road hearse, Top 50s I wish, but still it's not bad at mid to late 40s overall. I had no idea how it was driven prior to our pickling it up last weekend.
  10. I fitted my Skoda roof bars yesterday and they sit on the top of the roof rails and not inline or under. So if the sunroof operates to a level lower than the top of the roof rails then no problem. I am sure it does as it would get ripped off by the airflow at speed otherwise.
  11. Currently waiting for the dealer to contact me with a loan car arrangement so they can fix the unit. So far I am less than impressed with them as dealer but am prepared to give them leeway at the moment. I have extracted the headend and found connectors all solidly in place. Car at last check was it's way to Prague having left the English channel.
  12. To answer your question Agerbundsen No the files are already loaded, seems there is about 12GB of data on the HDD already. Problem with ex demo is you are never quite sure what you will get. The dealer left the manuals out, downloads are my current manual till he gets them to me. No overly impressed with them so far.
  13. Ok swam out to the car and checked the GPS status again via the Map/Map button function. :'( No satellites. My sharks fin looks good in the water but I guess its lost a connection. The Columbus end is all sealed off, currently I cannot see an easy access route to the rear of the unit to confirm connection. The shark fin is a reasonable distance from the seat belt access point on the roof lining so not sure that would help either.
  14. Thanks all, I will go and investigate. I spoke with the dealer yesterday and 2 different people confirmed the Sat Nav was working as they used it. At the moment my Yeti thinks it's about a mile off Beachy Head in the sea!! Swimming lessons I guess.......
  15. Picked up my 2.0 TDi 110 Elegance today it's an ex demo with Columbus. 1st Reg September 2010 Drove back from Eastbourne to Dartford at no time got a fix on the Sat Nav. Very familiar with Sat Nav have used Tom Tom for many years. Anybody experienced 0/10 satellites received, even after several hours. Any ideas, before I drive all the way back there again. Thanks
