I had a smf & not for to long, as after a long distance drive I would come to change down & it wouldn't go into gear, massive smf fail so went back to the dmf. I would stick with the dmf I think.

Thanks for all the replies & I will get the grommet checked out, it's just going to be a nightmare to clean & dry the carpets as well as sort out the electrics & problems. I was in a taxi that had 350000 miles on the clock & was still going strong. I think a change if car might be in order next year. Marc

I had seen the water ingress thread but Im not sure where it's got in from the drivers side as I thought it was just the passenger side, this car is in the garage once a month & I think now it's the worse car I've owned, even worse than the 407!

Well after last nights rain I opened my car to find a swimming pool in the drivers & drivers passenger side flooded! I had removed all bungs but I hadn't sorted the sealant. So what I need to know is where it's came from & can this be sorted through the insurance? Thanks marc

1 door doesn't work @ all & the drivers sometimes opens & sometimes close's. I'll get it checked out when I'm back home as I'm working away. Thanks again.

Thanks for the replies, I do have a fault with the drivers door m& rear passenger doors not working properly & I think it's down to water ingress, I'll get it looked @.

As title, when I open the doors the indicators flash but when I press close they don't, not sure if they ever flashed as I have had water Ingres. So is there a fix for this? Thanks Marc.

Any links for the headlight lenses if they can be taken off?

You can unclip the lense? I thought it was glued on? Mine have misted up & there's alot of staining on the inside of the light off the water, if it uncliped & cleaned it would be so much easier

Thanks for the replies but it looks like a faulty new shock, the garage re-fitted the old 1 & no knocking so it has to be down to that. Thanks again.

Just had some new shocks fitted as the old ones were shot & it felt like I was driving a water bed, test drove it & it felt fine & solid on the road but it has a what I can describe as a low thud as if something is loose, I took it back & they had the shock of twice & everything is tight but it's still knocking when driving. The garage are stumped so could it be a faulty shock as there going to our the old 1 back on tomorrow to see if the thud is still there, hopefully someone might have a answer so I can take tell the garage when I take it back tomorow. I've had a SMF & it lasted about 10 months & started to not let me put in gear, changed it as it was under warranty for a DMF & it's been spit on, I got the slave too but my gearbox is on its way now I think :( I got my parts from europarts. I've also got that creaking when you sit it the back & thought it was the springs, well I guess everyone has got it haha

I'm not sure how they got wired up as the garage i use done it for me, I will go & see them or a auto electrician when I get back home as I'm working away @ present. The garage also forgot to re-fit the covers on the back of the lights do there both now full of condinsation! How will I get the inside of the headlights dry as the look rubbish & I'm sure there blocking out light. I'm not that clued up on skoda terms like CANBUS etc so don't know what your meaning Thanks for the replies though.

Hi all I've recently had HID's fitted as the standard bulbs were rubbish, the warning light came on when I switched the lights off but lately when I switch them on the warning light comes on & beeps then off & on etc for about 5mins. Do I need to fit something to stop it as it drives me mad & have a read somewhere about the voltage not being the best? Also the rear passenger drivers door I think is holding water & leaking onto the carpet, Is there a bung or something to release it as there are bungs all over for water on a superb haha Thanks Marc

I thought the radio has a self storage code as I've had my battery off before but I didn't know that about the windows. I'm going to gaffer tape the inside of the pollen filter to cover the foam as I'm working away & it's a quick fix I hope? if anyone has done this quick fix does it work?

I've got wet carpets in the front passenger & rear drivers passenger side which I don't know how that can water ingress? I checked the foam under the pollen filter yesterday & it was all dry, I pushed the bung out off the brake servo side but didn't know about the battery 1. My central locking is a bit all over. Is there rubber bungs under the footwells? I thought I read a thread with someone saying they took these out to drain water? I had a look & seen something that looked like them but I'm not sure.

So how did you peel it off with hot water? Also how would you go about doing the centre console? Thanks

Hi all, Not sure if this has already been discussed, but the grey rubber covering that goes over the handles & on the centre console is coming off more on the door handles, I just want to know what people have done to sort it out ie re-cover/paint or take it off to show the black shiny effect? It's looking very taty & also where can I get some chrome covers for the vents & door handle surrounds? I've checked fleabay but can't find anything. Thanks Marc.

Mine is full of flies & I asked about removing the parcel shelf on here before but I got told it couldn't be done? I will have a look @ it next week.

Funny enough my front passenger door speaker has a nice fart sound when it's turned up so this post can help me out too does the door card have to come off though or does the grill pop off?

Mine locked & I had to get the garage I use to smash the old lock so the door could be opened, I think they fitted a golf mk4 1 & it locks faster then the others, it was a fiderly job they said. I've probs with the rear passenger door & the drivers! I think there has been water in the ECU but there always seams to be something on here about door probs.

Hi all. Well after a changed my standard bulbs for HID's both headlights have been consintaly full of condensation, if you hit the lights the water just runs down, is there anyway of getting rid of this as it looks rubbish. Also I bought a leather multi function steering wheel as the rubber 1 was horrible & pitted, is it possible to get the cruise control & the other functions to work? I need to source a MF airbag as the standard 1 doesn't fit & I've been quoted from breakers crazy money for 1. The central locking, after reading threads about it I guess the ecu could be corroded as the drivers door sometimes locks or unlocks & the rear passenger door opens on 1 click & won't close, I have to lock that manually. The last thing is the shocks, I've got about 167K & bought it with 151K on the clock, it feels like I'm driving a water bed so could they be due a new set? Thanks in advance for any help.

So the new cluster looks like what I can describe as a C when lit up? Also when you swapped them over did you have to add any extra bulbs as when the orig lights are switched on only the bottom lights up, on the new style the top & sides light up so you must need extra bulbs? Also what price are they & what name did you put into flea-bay to get your lights? I don't want some cheap rubbish that doesn't fit correct. Thanks.
