  1. Here she is with Solarplexius window tints all round, bar front windows Brilliant product, excellent quality and 100% accurate fit!
  2. Can't find aftermarket mats with correct fitting and dealer can't give me the measurement between centres for the 'lug holes' :-(
  3. I thought so too but parts guy at main stealer couldn't say!
  4. Hiya folks I am looking to order some floor mats from a main stealer, who tells me that the logo'd Vrs mats were only produced up until 2009 - mine is October 2010 - the parts dept is unable to tell me if the '09 mats will fit a '10 model (I tried to make him believe the floor-pan would be identical), plus he tells me that the manufacturer can't tell him the centre distances between the locating holes! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated Cheers!
  5. Sure made the right decision - spent a couple of days getting used to what gear does best, and when - filled up (diesel same price as petrol at local supermarket!) beforehand and 120-odd miles later, the needle only moved about two divisions (Superb would have chewed through about a third of a tank!!). Boot nearly full and three passengers up, second gear, foot off the gas and she pulled (no sign of stalling) up a 1:4 hill :-o
  6. Easy for me to remember as it's also my on-line banking password ........AS IF!!!!!!!!! ;-)
  7. Theme tune by the legendary 'Flats and Scruggs' :-) - as a mandolin player that appeals to me :-D
  8. Thanks, ported myself over from the 'Superb' section :-) Wonder if I can run mine on "Black gold...Texas Tea..." ;-)
  9. Not now - loads of mucky road- film and leaf litter (thanks Brian...) Lucky I have a great hand-wash down the road - sounds lazy but we're water metered here!
  10. Hello 'again'! Sold my '11 plate Superb 1.8tsi (for economic reasons...) and traded for a mint condition 53k miles '60 plate Vrs estate, in black - missed the grunt of a diesel after selling my '03 Octy Ambiente (which is now on over 200k miles in Portugal!). Love this forum for it's wealth of practical knowledge and nonsense all in the right proportion :-D

  13. 2011 mkii SE Estate 1.8tsi Full leather interior No mods, 100% stock Love it, takes people by surprise
  14. Here is mine; 2011 SE Estate, 1.8tsi Full leather interior Completely stock - no mods Still quick for and estate (after driving 1.9tdi Octy 'Ambiente' for six years)!
  15. Laugh all you want, but for big sound out of a tiny car you had to go a long way to beat my old Smart car - sub 600cc engine, but twin spark and Garrett turbo, de-restricted and re-mapped. The OEM exhaust had integral cat and muffler, however the pipe I put on was custom built by tuner who does pipes for Ducati, no muffler or cat, just a resonating can with no restrictions between engine and the open air! Used it for haring aroung delivering kebabs and pizzas, slightly antisocial for late night deliveries He he he.
  16. The kits I have seen give an example of the alarm sounds in relation to distance, with the most hectic/panicky sound for the 0mm - 300mm distance. What is puzzling me is that surely for parking, you need something to tell you when you get around the 100mm - 150mm mark from the car behind?, not something that tells you that you could be anything in between touching bumpers and a foot (old money LOL) away!
  17. Nope, mine is a hatchback, love the gaping chasm of a boot Equally love the power build-up as the blower spools up!!!
  18. Thankyou! Am so enjoying driving my Octavia, had a gig last night and got all PA rig (amp and two speakers), mike stands, speaker stands, music and guitar stands, two guitars one mandolin, holdall of leads and cables, case of dozen or so harmonicas, mic and more cables - ALL IN THE BOOT!!!!!! plus passenger (not in boot) and the car pulled like mad and handled very composed.
  19. Thanks! Just wiki'd the engine and I have code ALH, anything in particular I need look out for with this?
  20. Thanks.... To be more specific, I was meaning output and if it was a PD unit :S
  21. Probably missing something very obvious, but what engine have I got? how do I find out? 2003 reg Octavia 1.9tdi Ambiente Answers welcome!!!
  22. Went and collected my Octavia on Friday! It is in absolutely mint condition both inside and out, only a couple of specs of stone-chips on leading edge of bonnet. Although mileage may be percieved as high at 154k (Isle of wight mentality - anything over 10k/year is seen as high!!) there is a full service history and first five services from new were done at the original Skoda garage and subsequent services done at same non-Skoda garage. The new rubber at each corner and brilliant valeting job gave the appearance of a brand new car After driving a Citroen Xsara (1.4i petrol) for a few years, the 1.9 TDI lump is a real punch in the pants!!!!
