  1. I took my Octy vRS in for its 36000 mile service and took advantage of the Yeti courtesy car they offered. No issue with the service they carried out but the service guys questioned me about returning the loan car with 2miles less of fuel in it as when it left ie 62 miles showing on the display instead if 64 miles and having travelled approx 75 miles. I said i had put a tenner in and used that amount of fuel. He said i couldnt have. I kicked up a stink but he wouldnt budge and wouldnt let me speak to the Service Manager so i gave him £2 to bring the display up to 64 miles and left. I then got into my car and noticed they had travelled 4 miles so i went in and got my £2 back for the fuel they had used in my car. I managed to speak to the Service Manager who wasnt really interested and said i would inform the leasing company i have to use (as its a company car) not to use them again for the way i had been treated over the "2 miles". My car is now 47000 miles so it will be interesting to see what the leasing company say when its next due its service. So on my one experience with Parkview, Im out.
  2. Good colour choice, Ive had mine since June and clean it every 2 weeks, now the muck on the roads is starting to gather I can see myself cleaning every week :S . One issue I have is that it attracts idiot drivers who cant see a white car with DRL's in their mirrors as i seem to get cut up more in this than my previous A3.
  3. Well i have just clocked up my first 12,000 miles in 18 weeks from new in the Octy vRS CR TDI 170 and i must says its been a joy. I didnt rag it until about 5,000 miles and I am amazed that i average 52mpg [on the computer anyway] driving on a mixture of A roads and M'ways. The max I have had is 62mpg The torque is awesome, you have to watch it when overtaking from 70mph in 6th as the magic ton is there before you know it but its so flexible you just point and drive. So glad the dealer had one in stock otherwise i would be driving a Mazda6 right now.
  4. Ive nearly done 2000 miles in my new vRS TDI in the 3 weeks since taking delivery and its loosening up quite nicely. I havent ragged it, not gone over 3000 revs as Ive got it for 3 years so will treat it with respect. I will give it another week before giving it a blast, i should be getting towards 3000 miles by end of next week.
  5. My CR vRS has 300 miles on it now [since friday last week] and running it in is like having a noose round my neck, the computer is averaging 46mpg on a mixture of m'way and A roads. I will repost at the end of the week after putting on another 300 miles before then.
  6. Picked up my new vRS this morning and it has sweepy neddles, conti tyres and vrs kick plates. As it was dealer stock i doubt whether this is MY12.
  7. Im going to through this one in the mix [although i have no idea] but ive followed a diesel saab in the past and all of a sudden loads of white smoke came out of the exhaust, isnt this a sure sign of a blown turbo??? Your white smoke could be the turbo on its way out???? I stand corrected if i am completely off the mark.
  8. it may have something to do with the alarm as the one on my A3 flashes when the alarm is active.
  9. oh that is sweet, im collecting my white vRS from work on friday and cant wait.
  10. Popped in here recently to see if they had an Octy vRS to test drive, they didnt have one and wouldnt be getting one. This dealer is also a Seat dealer and I asked them for a test drive in the Leon FR, same answer of nope, so when is the Leon to be registered so I can test drive i asked, answer back was never as Seat doesnt want to have to many demo vehicles on the road. Im getting my Octy vRS from Jewsons in Oxford and am reluctant to take it to City for the first service. Maybe a trip to Parkview in Reading is on the cards then.
  11. If you want to add options to the standard config vRS then the lead time is 8-9 months, i was VERY lucky that a dealer in Oxford had one in stock, vRS CR TDI Hatch in white albeit with the only option being a spare wheel with delivery 9 days from order placement. My only advice is to shop around "country wide" you may get lucky. Also when is the Octavia III released, mid 2012 ???? if so you should wait for that.
  12. Ordered my vRS CR this morning and collecting on 17th June (next Friday) As its a company car it hasnt got any goodies ie maxidot, parking sensors and the like but 8 days delivery is better than 8 months so i had to go for it. Clearly the dealer in Oxford had one and now its got my name on it. Jobs a good'n
  13. Ive had my tank down to zero on the computer and when I fill up it takes 55 litres on a 60 litre tank, that 5 litres would have given me another 45miles.
  14. Check this list out, most probably the Vodafone own brand phone will not be listed as the list is nearly a year old.
  15. Thanks for your votes everyone, its very interesting, i think white is making a come back but ive started to notice red cars of late, must be the red bit in my brain kicking in. I have a BMW 118d M Sport as a courtesy car at the moment and thats in white which looks really nice. As someone said, its a personal choice and if you are happy with your colour then who gives a t055, my choice of colour will probably come down to what extra option i can go for instead of the race blue. Thanks again guys, keep on voting and posting your pics
  16. OK by popular demand, Anthracite has been added to the poll list. Thanks for your votes and pics thus far, Im on my fourth black car at the moment and wondering whether its time to change, My choices in order of preference are Race Blue, Red, White, Black Keep em coming
  17. Hi all, Im due to order my new company car in a few weeks and had a test drive in a vRS CR DSG the other weekend and just love it. I now have to choose what colour to have, im torn between red, white or race blue so was wondering what is your favourite colour for the vRS Please vote on your fav. Cheers Kev
  18. You've done the right thing and taken your business elsewhere, i personally would have done that after they dropped the 0% finance. As a sales manager myself [not cars] it is totally unacceptable to let someone face customers if they know nothing about the product they are selling. That is not the fault of the salesman but the management behind him/her for lack of training. Good luck with your alternative dealer
  19. Dont forget the odomoeter may have 10 miles on the clock from new [ie delivery mileage] but the engine has been on a test bed in the factory where they go through the rev range. Its probably done 500 miles before its bolted to the car
  20. Ive had 60mpg out of my 08 2.0 TDI Audi A3, but that was sitting in an artics slipstream cruising at 55mph on the motorway. Jeez i nearly fell asleep.
  21. Diesel engines have an issue with a part which is affecting all VAG 2.0 TDI engines, both 140 and 170bhp versions, I have been told the TSI engines are on a quicker lead time.
  22. I wear contacts every day and my a/c is on all the time, no misty windows and no dry eyes. When i do turn the a/c to ECO or recirculating the cabin air the windows start to steam up. So its AUTO all the time with fresh air in. My partner has a Mini Cooper and when she doesnt turn the a/c on the windows start to mist up, turn a/c on it clears.
  23. I know the 170 TDI are on at least 6 month lead time due to a part shortage in the engine. I gained this info from two local dealers and Skoda CS this afternoon, the dealers are pushing the petrol versions instead.
  24. Spoke to two local dealers and Skoda CS this afternoon about leadtime on vRS TDI and i got the same answer of at least 6 month lead time if order placed today. Delay due to a part for the 170 engine so i expect VAG will be experiencing the same delays. Oh well that puts a block on me ordering my new company car from Skoda, damn shame as the vRS is by far the best equipped car on my shortlist.
