  1. I've had the DSG "fix" oil change and ECU updates. I've had the car from new, and it is an 11 plate with (as of now) 23800 miles or thereabouts. I believe that spark plugs have been changed.
  2. Well, The noise is back!!! Since writing the original post I have been using exclusively Shell nitro+ unleaded (99 ron?). Earlier this week the noise actually got worse, and now can be heard changing speed when revved (on my driveway, not moving). When my car is coming to a stop at traffic lights gradually it does a little jolt forward just as I`m stopping. The noise is a lot worse in the car than outside, even with the bonnet up. Car just now out of warranty. Any idea?
  3. Noted. I'll try to keep to Shell v-power from now on. Thanks
  4. update- filled up with Shell 98 RON (usually use BP 97) and all the noises have stopped and tickover now seems normal. I didnt realise using 97 RON would have such a dramatic effect...
  5. I have spoken to Skoda UK at length, and they have refused to acknowledge it is a recall. THe person I spoke to was quite abrupt, and pointed out that it was being done as a 'favour' to UK customers even though, and I quote 'no cases have ever been reported in the UK, only hot countries like Australia' When I pointed out that is nonsense I've been reporting a problem for 3 years, he didnt seem to agree I had reported the same issue, even though what they have done has mostly fixed the issues I was having.
  6. Hi all, My car has developed a strange low whirring on tick over. it comes on for about 3 seconds every 10 or so seconds. It happens every single time I start the car, and I've noticed it continues as I'm actually driving also. The cars performace does not seem to be affected, but is very loud and last night, the engine made one loud low pitched sound (almost like a cat meow) much louder than the engine usually is. I was going about 5 mph at the time. Its difficult to decribe so I'll try to record it and attach a sound clip when I get home. In the mean time, any ideas?
  7. And to top it off I spoke to Skoda UK, who advised if there were still issues I'd have to pay as warranty is now up, even though its the same fault as I've been telling them about for 3 years. Apparently because I didnt tell them the 'fix' hasnt worked before my warranty expired (it was behaving up until then) I will have to pay. Although I will get some 'goodwill' from skoda.
  8. When I asked the dealer to provide me with written confirmation of the work being done they refused, because 'its on Skodas database' and therefore thats all they need to do. Having driven my 'fixed' car about 80 miles last weekend, The faults are still present, albeit less pronounced.
  9. Well, the stuttering is far less pronounced but in some situations is still there, eg delay in pulling away at traffic lights from standing stop.
  10. I can confirm that after the fix applied, I have had a great improvement in my cars performance. A vast reduction in stuttering etc. However! Slight issues still being felt. Doing a long drive soon so will report back.
  11. It makes me laugh, or cry. When I spoke to skoda UK and mentioned this site they said " I wouldn't pay any attention to what is said on that site"
  12. I cannot see how this is not a safety issue either. Having absolutely no power for 2 seconds when I put my foot down (then promply whizzing off) is extremely dangerous. I will be writing to Skoda UK.
  13. When I contacted Skoda UK about the dealer I didnt like, they just suggested I no longer use them instead of raising a complaint......
  14. Got my car back after the oil change ecu update etc, and those stuttering issues I have been experiencing have completely gone.
  15. I`ve had many instances whn attempting to pull away at a roundabout from a standing position, after warming up the engine etc. usually in D1. Also happens in heavy start stop traffic and reversing also. A week ago my car got stuck in 3rd. Put my foot down and it just revved its nuts off. I had to shift it to manual and back again to clear it!
