  1. Hi All, Please help, this is driving me crazy. I have a Fabia MPI 8v 1.4 with a fault code 16725 (Camshaft Pos.Sensor Circ Range/Performance)and an engine management light illuminated. I have replaced the camshaft sensor, cleared the error log, but the fault code comes back as soon as I start the car and the engine management light comes on soon after that. Car drives great otherwise, but the big yellow engine management light is really annoying me (I want to sell the car soon and people assume the car is about to explode if the light is on!) Thanks, P
  2. Hi guys, I am thinking of replacing my OEM panel filter with an induction kit of some form. Question is, will I need to get the ECU remapped to avoid messing up the air/fuel mixtures??? Thanks, Phil
  3. hi guys, I have been offered a camshaft position sensor for a Fabia mk1 1.4 16v for not too much money. will this work on my 1.4 8v??????? I am having real problems finding a second-hand CPS for the 8v. Thanks Phil
  4. Thanks guys, will look for a new sensor and post my results for future reference
  5. Hi all, I have a problem with my 2001 Fabia 1.4 8v MPI. The engine check light has come on and the VAG fault code reader is giving a 16725 P0341 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit - Out of Range/Performance. The car runs OK and starts reasonably well. I have cleaned the contacts on the camshaft sensor, etc, but as soon as the engine turns over the code reappears on the fault reader. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it likely to be the camshaft sensor needing replaced? (I know that seems obvious, but I have been in the situation where changing a spark plug fixes an injector fault code, etc). The car had it's timing chain changed at 97K by previous owner, (which I know if it is done wrongly can cause this), but the engine check light didn't come on until a few months later. Could it still be this? How can I check this without giving it to a mechanic? Any experience, suggestions or informed reckonings welcomed, Phil
  6. Hi, looking for some advice. I want to buy a code reader for my Fabia 2001 1.4 MPi 8v. I also would like the reader to work on my wife's mark 5 Golf Sdi 2l (2004). Which reader will do these 2 cars without adaptors, etc? So far I have seen the U280, U281, U380, U480 All seem to do the same thing, but would like advice from someone on this forum before buying. Chaeers, phil
  7. Hi all, I just bought a 2011 Fabia 1.4 MPi 8v. I had a 1.6 Octavia a number of years ago, but I had problems with it including broken door levers, failing windows, faulty distributors, exhausts falling off and the final nail in the coffin was the gearbox and clutch went at 92,000 miles and dumped all the engine oil over the road. The garage said £1000 to repair, so I sold it for scrap instead. :( I said I would never touch another Skoda, but here I am 4 years later in a 96000 mile Fabia, never say never! I hope I don't have as much trouble with this Skoda as I did with the last one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Perhaps you could give him half of the car and half a V5 taxbook until he comes good with the other half of the cash!!
