  1. I've had several occasions with my '25 L+K estate where the tailgate hatch has started closing while I'm leaning right into the load area. I haven't climbed in -- my feet are still on the ground -- but it's when I'm leaning in to pack or unpack things at the base of the rear seatback. I haven't pressed anything on the key or the door close button. It just starts beeping and the gate starts lowering. I would have thought that sensing movement inside the boot space was no harder than detecting a foot waved underneath the bumper. is there some tailgate autoclose feature/timer that I can adjust? (Also, as I've discovered it IS possible to drive off with the tailgate open, when you would have thought that was a scenario when you WOULD want the tailgate to shut if it found itself open when you got to the speed where the parking sensors and view turn off and you're in normal drive mode!) best, M.
  2. Got an L&K estate with Canton infotainment system. Has anyone figured out how to make the peripheral proximity sensors less hypersensitive, or at least mute the audible alarms? Every time I head up or down my drive (which has raised borders on each side), there's a cacophony of alerts and red lines on all sides. I managed it perfectly unscathed in a Mk2 Superb estate for ten years, which is not significantly smaller, so I do know where the corners of my car are. It's just kinda disconcerting when it's beeping at me all the time, and I'm worried it's going to start auto braking on me and leave me stuck! best, M.
  3. My wife's KESSY key fob has gone missing. Can I just check a few assumptions, to narrow down the possibilities..? 1) If she drove the car home, then she must have had the key when she got back? There's no way the car would start and be driven without the key in proximity? 2) What happens if you walk away from the car and the key is still in it? If it had fallen out of her pocket somewhere invisible around the drivers seat, would the car lock itself with the key inside after some time? Or does it do something to alert you the key's inside and not lock the doors so you're not stranded? 3) Do the mirrors fold in by themselves after a while when the key has moved away from the car, or do you have to click the lock icon on the fob to fold them? I'm assuming that if the car was sitting on our drive locked and with the mirrors folded in when we started looking for the key a couple of hours after she got back to go out again, that the key must be in or around the house somewhere. Is that right? And finally... is there anything you can do with the other keys or the car to make the missing fob make a sound or something to help find it? Any corrections to the above assumptions or clever ideas about how to make it reveal itself would be much appreciated! (It's an L+K, so we have three keys in total so mislaying one is not a complete disaster, but still, it would be good to find the darn thing...) best, M.
  4. Just getting to grips with my new Mk 4 (TDI 200 L+K estate) after 15 years with a Mk2. I've set myself up as a user in the car, but when it comes to the stage in the app setup where I have to "Activate the car" it is failing every time. Sometimes it says "Service unavailable, please try later" and sometimes it shows a sad car graphic with the helpful (not) "Error 02". My wife managed to activate the car in her app, with it parked in the same place (she did it first, since she drove it home from collecting it). I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app from my iPhone and that made no difference. I found some references online to it needing a good eSIM signal for data connectivity, so I've connected the car to the house wifi, but that hasn't changed anything. That wasn't on when my wife activated her app, though. (I tried several times before connecting the car to the wifi so it's not the wifi that's the problem). How do you see how good the mobile network strength for the eSIM is? I don't see "bars" on the main display like you'd have on a phone -- is there somewhere in the menus where I can go and find it? And if anyone has any ideas about how to get activation to work, I'm all ears. My next step, if I can find out how to see the signal strength, is drive somewhere that's definitely got good connectivity, park up and try again... best, M.
