  1. i agree, breather would be my guess, the engine also "pinks" badly which I assume is due to the mixture being affected by the oil in the cylinders.
  2. If I coast for a couple of 100 meters and then put my foot down, a massive blue cloud of smoke is left in my trail!! LOL
  3. My car has done 30k and just had its 3rd service - build date July 2011. At 10k, using 1L per 1100 miles - reported to dealer and did a basic oil usage check - just within spec At 20k, still using 1L per 1100 miles - did not mention it to the dealer At 30k, now using 1L per 550 miles - reported to the dealer, did a basic check - 3/4L used for 450 miles. The dealer agreed it was high, and have asked me to do another basic check, then if the results are the same they will take it up with Skoda UK. I've used 30+ litres of oil so far!!
  4. Thanks Lee, i did see that, some major debate on if its a fault or not!
  5. Any further updates on this sound/problem?
  6. Mine is more of a rattle, i raised it when it went in for a service, and they said they had "fiddled" with the heat shields, but the noise is still present.
  7. Hmm! I get something like this, usually when the engine is under load. When I stop for my car park gates to open which is on an upward slope, and pull off through the gates i get this strange rattling noise. also see - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/235349-unidentifiable-sound/
  8. Not sure its the battery, as its now working fine again. but'll bare that in mind, cheers.
  9. Pulled up on my dads drive, both front windows open, jumped out and held down the locking buton on the remote - nothing happened! Pressed it a few times, still nothing. Got back in manually closed the widows, tried to remote lock it, nothing. Locked it with the key ok. Wouldn't unlock with the remote, unlocked it with the key, alarm went off, started the car no probs, still wouldn't lock or unlock with the remote. Locked it with the key and left it for about an hour. Went back to it, to go home, still wouldn't unlock with the remote, so used the key and the alarm went off, started it ok and drove home. When i got home, jumped out and it locked ok! Tried it a few times all ok, and still ok this morning. Just wondered if anyone had seen this problem before, and if its a sign of problems to come?
  10. I've not noticed any lack of power, all good in that dept
  11. "run it it" what does that mean ??? Its a company car so it didn't get treated gently from day one
  12. Out of interest Lee, does yours use any oil? Only mine is curently using 1l every 900miles or so.
  13. Keep us posted Lee, I think I have have the same sound, and the dealer couldn't find it but said they tightened all the heat sheilds! To me mine sounds like old fashioned "pinking" and I only here it when the enginine is under load, and it appears worse if i have to put a splash of 95 unleaded in!
  14. Thanks George Theres plenty of oil coming out of the exhaust, its white and the rear is constantly covered in it. I'll book it in and get the ball rolling with skoda. Cheers Vaughan
