  1. Hey All I am currently in the UK (staying opposite Heathrow on the Bath Rd) on business for 2 weeks and would like to visit a local dealer for a spin in a Vrs (diesel). Does any one know a decent dealer in the proximity of Heathrow. I have done a search and found a few like Marlborough Skoda, but if anyone knows of dealers that actually have VRs diesels I would be greatful.
  2. Cheers thanks for that. the trips we do to shows are never more than 1hr drive and its not every weekend. Just phoned my local skoda dealer (in Ireland) and he said they wont have the scout till at least March...on the price he told me the diesel would start at 36,000 euro.....

  4. Hey Guys thanks for all the replys. I have just come back from my local dealer to have a spin in one. Unlucky for me the diesel one is sold so I couldnt drive it. I got a spin instead in the petrol one. Pretty sweet. on the test drive it was a long straight single road and I came across a boy racer in his little jap import hot mini thingy and I asked the sales guy can I overtake to get a feel of the power and he said sure whilst gripping the door handle. Anyway, I currently have a octavia tdi laurin and klement (2001 black) which pulls the current double horsebox with a 16.2h horse no probs....I have a diesel tuning box from dragon fitted to it so its got a little more grunt than the standard 110bhp. I dont tend to pull a hell of a lot as we have our own stables and field so its just to competitions at the weekends so I still would love to get the diesel vrs with the detactable towbar.. P.S. just as I was leaving some guy was there picking up his red diesel vrs, pretty sweet smile on his face when they drove it out. He was trading in an alfa 146 2001. was a bit jealous of him actually. cheers
  5. Hey all, Have been giving serious thought to getting the diesel VRS, whats stopping me is that my g/f and I have horses and I dont want to buy a boring 4x4. So i believe that the pulling power of this would be more than enough and then I will still have a nice little run around when I want my little boy racer side to come out. I will eventually get an old 4x4 commerical but will a diesel vrs with a hitch look a bit silly.

  7. Hello I bought a L&K in May of last year and I am a bit disappointed with the performance of the engine. Its a 2001 and with the 110bhp I was expecting more bite from the turbo. I have been through the whole exercise of cleaning the MAF and the garage has told me there is nothing wrong when they put it through the computer. But really am I expecting too much from this engine or should I have a little smile on my face when I press the throttle on the motorways of Ireland. P.S. my clutch blew up like the Big Bang Theory on Sunday and its going to cost 500 euro to fix. P.P.S when I examine the MAF part itself ontop I see a little diagram of what looks like a resistor with two metal prongs sticking out of the casing. Should there be a delicate wire threaded through it or is the opening at the end of the MAF the place where the exposed metal is and hence you clean that. Me I reckon I am missing this wire but please someone tell me. Regards Bryan
  8. Hi My clutch blew up with a bang on Sunday and its going to cost me 500 euro in total. I have a L&K 110bhp 01. So I dont think I am being ripped off. B
  9. Hello Folks I am sometimes getting the same error. And I also have issues with startup too. Mine is a 2001 L&K. Got timing kit done recently and they said nothing showed up on the diagnostic. Should I change the battery just in case. B
  10. Hey, This happened me this week. Only came on for a second. Also I have found that sometimes the engine doesnt start. I think it must be related.
