  1. I've seen one or two on ebay so not as bad as i thought. I'm going to see if i can get it welded at work first, if they can do it it might be stronger then a new one - that bracket looks really weak and poor.
  2. Oh it's definately broken, I can move the actuator around in my hand, it's just floating around. This pic is better, it shows where the two parts should join.
  3. Hi all, So I went to open my VRS's boot the other day using the key fob and heard a horrible grinding noise and the boot wouldnt open. I could hear the actuator working but it wouldnt release so just assumed that the catch had got stuck - i'd seen a few threads on it. Had a closer look today and found that the metal bracket between the white actuator and boot catch loop had sheered off! That was what the grinding noise was! Has anyone had this happen and is it a costly fix? Was going to put a deposit down on a new car today and sell the VRS in a few weeks so i'm pretty gutted atm. Here's a few pics of what's happened anyway: Cheers, Andrew
  4. ah brilliant found it, couldn't see it but found it by feel, still needed to take the trim off under the steering wheel to connect it back up. Thanks a lot mate
  5. Hi all, I've taken the heater control panel out of my VRS to swap for a new one, but the cable which chnages the direction of the blower (i.e. windscreen, face, feet) has popped out at the other end and i cant find where to plug it back in! Does anyone know where it goes/has a pic or two? Any quick replies would be greatfully recieved as my dash is in bits!! Cheers, Andrew
  6. Yeah but if i ever want to get rid of the gauge (if i sell hte car for example) then im gonna need to buy new pipes. If there was a spacer with a pipe take off on it you would also get a perfect reading as it would be the same as the MAP sensor, would prob be more accruate then going off the intake pipe.
  7. Hi all, Looking at putting in a boost gauge and i dont want to tee into the plastic hard lines and i dont have an Allard EGR delete, i've been through loads of topics on gauges etc and saw someone had the idea of a MAP spacer which had a boost take off on it, i think it was for a petrol car - does anyone know if these are available for our VRS's? cheers Andrew
  8. Ah I see, yeah my new sensor is loom and sensor as one piece, whereas the one that is on my car has a seperate loom. The part number on my new sensor is: 602423291 but i couldnt make out the number on my faulty sensor, do you know what it should be?
  9. Hi all, I picked up a "new" style metal power steering angle sensor today but when i came to fit it it doesnt fit in the gap. I noticed the new sensor is twice as thick as the old one which practically falls in and out of it's housing. I didnt want to really force it incase Skoda have sold me hte wrong part, and i tried turing the column slightly to see if it would go in easier but it doesnt. There's at least a good inch/inch and half to go before it seems jammed, has anyone else seen this or am i doing something really stupid? Cars back together again now but i'll have another go tomorrow if anyone's got any ideas before going to skoda next week. Cheers all
  10. Is there an option to check the boost pressure in VagCom? I would of thought the ECU would need to know boost pressure as part of the fueling strategy? Cheers, Andrew
  11. Cheers all TorqueIsCheap - yeah alloys are straight fit, 5x100, dont know who makes em, stamped "Zuess made in Italy" on the insdie :wonder: , they were just a gamble off ebay. But identical to that found on a few different audi's of around 2002 so i'll go with that! Joshh: The hoses are SFS, but i got them from a chap on here, came with some fancy aluminimum connectors too.

  13. Ah fair enough, i'd just never noticed it before ever. But then again its not something you look for i guess. Altho i will now...!
  14. This is a tad weird, never noticed it before on any car: Key out of the ignition, doors locked, push on brake pedal and the brake lights come on. How/why/surely it cant be normal?! Please discuss
  15. Did you reply to me chief? Dont seem to have anything in my inbox? cheers
  16. Again, a bit of a weird/random one - where your heaters working ok? If so i could do with the fan resistor thing, the heater flap motor and also (not heating related) the power steering sensor off the rack (providing htats working fine too)? let me know either way boss, cheers
  17. cool cool, i'll give it a go with back to black first, but might end up spraying them. I've got a 04 plate vrs and that did have hte long badge too, guess it's cos we've both got early cars.
  18. clean as a whistle matey, how'd you get all the engine bay plastics looking so black? mine are all grey and poo?
  19. My AP's were bag on 400 from Venom's (i think) ebay shop, free delivery, plus you dont have to mess around with new drop links
  20. I've got AP's on mine, been on for about 3 months i think, maybe 4 and not had problems yet. I had a buget of 400 too and they were the best i could find.
  21. Hi all, Is there anyone in Lincs (preferably nr Spalding) with VagCom that wouldnt mind resetting my heater flap motor? Its been playing up for a while and i want to see if reseting it makes any difference before i buy a new motor. I've only got the shareware version that acts as a code scanner so cant do it myself. I'll come to you and there'll be a 4 pack of your favorite alcholic beverage in it for anyone that helps me out. Ta muchly, Andrew
  22. I'm not usualy a fan of DLR's, a lot look really cheap and 'HellFrauds carpark specials' but yours work quite well. Is there a kit available for them or is it something you knocked up yourself? Would be interesting to see what they look like without all the fancy camera effects?
