  1. Is the badge the same for the Fabia and Octy then for the grille ?
  2. Well I got some sort of answer.... It's a sensor of some sort ! The dealers had the car 3 days now, ordered the part and hopefully expected tomorrow and it will then be fitted. If not because of the BH, it will then be Tues next week... Told me it would be better to leave the car with them if this happens as they will then fit it Tues, if I take it away they cannot guarantee booking it back in for the Tues - WTF !
  3. Guys Noticed the other day the glow plug light flashing on my Octavia VRs TDI dpf as I was driving home, so rang the dealer and got it booked in today. Had a look on here and saw that it could be related to the brake light switch so checked by lights and they all seemed fine, so too it in. Now just got a call to say they've put it on the diagnostics machine and it's come back with some fault code relating to the exhaust temperature and there's around 6 pages of checks for them to do so I can't have it back tonight :( Anyway it sounds somewhat serious unless anyone can put my mind at rest
  4. Hi Bubba Long time no speak.... I tried and prevailed and at the end of the day had it taken out.... It's going back to denison with a comment that its crap ! It doesn't do what it is supposed to do i.e. play playlists. It will only play all tracks randomly... When it was plugged in there was a whistling noise through the speaker [ feint, but there none the less ], as if it was a suppression issue. It caused a loud buzzing through the aux ports when on ! And to top it off, the radio packed in ! Getting back to the original Cd player was a nightmare, disc 6, track 9 hold the ffwd button for 2-3 seconds but you couldn't go back to the IPOD without disconnecting it then plugging it back in God what a waste of money ! RANT OVER.... :thumbdwn:
  5. Guys Just had the Gateway 100 + CD Retention Module fitted to the Octavia Stream Head Unit However I'm sure I must be doing something wrong [ or is it just complicated to use ] When I connect the IPOD it plays with no problems, however I do not seem to be able to select individual playlists. It just plays all tracks one by one. Selecting the original CD pplayer is a pain in the *** as well.... select disc 6, track 9 then hold the fast foward button for 2 secs  Can someone give me any tips on using it at all ?
  6. Re: the ID tags, I suspect not looking at other comments on the internet... I'm a little confused though, the brochure also says Which considering the cars come with these as standard don't they, this seems to be a contradiction in their brochure or is it me being daft
  7. Talk about confusion: Have they misprinted the brochure.... Doesn't the New Octavia for instance come with this as standard when you have the CD changer fitted ?
  8. Guys I know this has been covered on many threads but wondered if someone could just set me straight from the outset ? I have an Octavia VRS [new style], with the MP3 3.5 socket underneath the arm rest. However I was looking at purchasing the Interface Connector which will permanently fix the IPOD into the stereo. My questions are this. I have a 6 disc autochanger and the brochure mentions that this will be disabled on fitting the interface connector - Does this mean my autochanger will therefore become defunct as the IPOD essentially takes its place, or does one work when the other is disconnected from the cable and vice versa ? If I have the connector fitted, do the song titles / album titles show on the head units display when you play any tracks from the IPOD ? I presume you can fully control the IPOD from the head unit as it will be located within the glovebox ? Many thanks BR
  9. The gear lever and gaitor are separate (having had one replaced). Deja vu
  10. Thanks everyone. I think I'll do as suggested and go for the cheaper option to begin with and then buy the expensive lead if required
  11. Oh yes I know them well..... Speak to Dion Lowe (Dealer Principle) who will assist you if you have an issue with the Service Desk. Failing that contact either Angus or Dougal Keith. Both are passionate about the reputation of their company and will deal with the problems quicly for you.
  12. You'd hope not, but in todays day and age, who knows
  13. Most forces use the Volvo and Vauxhall brands because of the deals they obtain from the manufacturer using the Home Office buying power... Vauxhall are considerably cheaper than Volvo which is surprising considering Volvo have always enjoyed the police market for many years over Vauxhall, yet the the Vauxhall cars being produced now appear to far outshine their Volvo counterparts
  14. Your call is generally put through to the most appropriate service and in the case of an accident the ambulance service is the priority (stands to reason I suppose), who in turn then contact their respective counterparts police and fire service If you're lucky you might gat one of the HATO's as well - LOL
