  1. So, finally got a resolution on this after sending numerous messages / telephone calls. They were pulling a swift one. As far as I can gather, they were putting financial pressure on me to either: a) take the car earlier than I wanted (in an earlier sales quarter) by telling me they would not increase the price, or- b ) raise more revenue by hoping I wouldn’t look too deep into the new VED rates. Anyhow, I have now been told, no increase in price (maybe pence / month @ inflationary increase) & car being delivered as per original instruction
  2. They are suggesting it will be approx £5 / month increase. I have asked for the info, but as yet nothing. As hard as I have looked I can’t see any April 2018 VED increases for Petrol cars. It seems they were introduced April 2017, with increased Diesel rates in April 2018. unless I’m missing something.......
  3. Can anyone help me with the change in VED rates from April 2018. I’ve been told by a dealer that there will be a extra monthly charge for my car (PCH) if it’s delivered after 1 April 2018. This is due to the increase in VED rates. I’ve looked everywhere, including the DVLA site and can only see increases / proposed new rates for DIESEL cars, mine is PETROL. Can anyone confirm if petrol rates (mine is 154g CO2) are increasing from April 2018, and was if so point me in the direction of the info. I have a feeling I am being told a porkie.

  6. Just looking at putting a standalone CCTV camera at a location at work. I already have a 2 x camera CCTV system in place (an older analogue system recording to a hard drive). The new camera will be specially placed over a cash till to record cash in / out. All I want is a mains powered camera that records HD footage (on loop) to a SD card in the camera. There is no Wifi, or intention to get it so has to be fully independent and record as such. my thoughts were something along the lines of a GO PRO 4 session, but I'm not sure the can be permanently mains powered, or loop the recording to rewrite the oldest footage once the card is full. Anyone know if the Go Pro would work or if any of the cheaper action cams will do this?
  7. Just to reiterate what I posted earlier- it is now the 'Consumer Rights Act 2015' you need to quote. The 'Sales of Goods Act' has been superseded
  8. Summary of what time limits apply for purchased goods thats are faulty (Consumer Rights act 2015). Copied from from Citizens Advice website. I would just verify that it applies to 2nd cars before going in guns blazin' Edit: apparently it does - see link http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/the-second-hand--car-i-bought-has-a-problem-what-are-my-rights Consumer Right Act 2015 is your friend
  9. Everything is possible, however this is generally considered cost prohibitive. Too many components, coding, calibration......etc.....
  10. Have you tried choosing the debug theme at the bottom of thr home page? might not be a long term option, but better than not at all
  11. Thanks, was worried that it gone
  12. How do I look at 'all new content' on an iPhone. Was my only method of browsing the forum. Please say it's still here
  13. Are you referring to a specific company paternity scheme or statutory paternity leave / pay?The time calculation for Statutory paternity pay (SPP) doesn't make reference to when your office is open, & is time specific only. You do however have to have worked there for 26 weeks before the end of the 15th week before the end of the expected birth (so 41 weeks before the expected birth) All the money is recoverable by the employer from HMRC (+3% compensation), but only if the criteria are met. Just done all this for one of my staff :)
  14. You image file may be too large. Try replacing it with a smaller one (file size, not image) :)
  15. Karlak is right :)The deal is good. They often post really good deals at specific mileages, with big discounts only available at that set amount. Additional mileage usually at reasonable rates. I can recommend CVL. Got a Passat Alltrack through them for £1.5k initial payment + £58 / month last year :)
  16. Unless you need 7 seats, then the Audi A4 Allroad 3.0TDi S-tronic is one of the best crossover BCH / PCH (just add vat) deals at them moment - £2k + 23 x 189.99+vat for 2yr 10k. Total cost- £6,369.77+vat Absolutely bargain. https://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/vehicle/choose_your_lease/75197/audi/a4_allroad/30_tdi_quattro_5dr_s_tronic.html
  17. Engineer came last night.Quickly diagnosed & repaired the automatic air vent valve. Apparently these shouldn't dump all your water out of your rad system :D Anyhow all fixed & working now :)
  18. Received the HDMI switch today. Very neat little square box. Just a shade wider than two HDMI plugs wide.2 x plugs in, 1 x out. Put Amazon Fire TV box and my DVR into it, and connected the out to my Soundbase (which then connects to my TV). No drama, just works. Round on / off switch to toggle between the inputs. 2 x LED's to indicate which is connected (a bit t bright, but hidden away behind the TV) could tape over if it bothers. Haven't reversed the input to try as don't need it but it might be useful later on. So in summary, compact HDMI switch that doesn't need a power supply, with a manual switch to toggle, that works as it should :) Happy to recommend :) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Goronya-Bi-Directional-Switcher-Passthrough-Supports/dp/B01EHOROP8?tag=b0f1c-21
  19. Kind of guessed that remote diagnostics is a bit of guesswork, especially as the eyes this end can't see beyond the cover!Rang the company & got a visit booked on Friday. Hopefully easy fix :)
  20. Pressure on rads this morning at < 0.2 Bowls underneath caught about 1.5 litres of water. :(
