  1. Just called my local dealer in Leicester and asked them about the recall. They took my reg number and after checking their systems stated it was due an ignition coil replacement under a recall. Booked in week after next. Free!! Well impressed so thanks for posting it as like many others wouldn't have known about it.
  2. I just fitted a Pioneer AVH3200BT today. Looks really good, sound has drastically improved with the mk1 Vrs speaker system and I added an old sub and old amp I had.. Cost me £325 and can add the sat nav at a later date. Bluetooth seems to work fine but not received a call on it to test if people can here me ok! has a nice iphone/ipod interface using the cable you get with the phone. I have been told to get video etc I need a cable for £30. I have been pondering about a double din unit for donkeys, there are so many to choose from and the chinese models seem to have loads of goodies but if they go wrong you cant just pop down to your local dealer can you?!
  3. I will try and take some pics this weekend. Thanks for the offers. It's pay day on Wednesday so we shall see. A swap definitely is better for me!
  4. Fitted the kit, it was pretty straight forward. The only pain was masking off and measuring for the positions. Made easy by the post on here. I think they are definitely better in the bumper. It is a tad scary drilling into the bumper but the drill bit you get with the kit is perfect. All my friends thought they were factory fitted! Must get some pics up.......
  5. cheers guys. It looks like mine was cut about a third way down the car, after the cat I think. The systems you have would I need to adapt it or would it go straight on? sorry to sound dim, I'm not sure how many sections the exhaust comes in.......
  6. Not had the car long and although I was told there had been a few mods, ecu, exhaust etc all I knew was the exhaust was loud!! While having some new tyres fitted I asked them to have a look on the ramps. Now I know why it's so noisy....... The rear silencer is missing and there is a straight through pipe to the last bit of twin pipes in the end can. I ideally want the original exhaust as I have no desire for more noise! Any suggestions?
  7. Thanks again to anyone that posted here, especially the link. £13.99 is an absolute bargain, esp when halfords have them for £199 with a display and you only really need the sounder. I'm going to fit it this weekend. The only question I have is how/where you run the cables from the bumper into the boot? Thanks in advance.
  8. When you say bogging do you mean dirty? It wasn't too bad, there was a coating of black sludge but definitely not as bad as I thought it would be. Will hopefully go for a longer drive today.
  9. Don't panic, I've just bought this car from a trader and wanted to get a bit of history, mainly what mods it has had as according to the trader it's been chipped to 225 and had a performance exhaust. Being a complete idiot when it comes to mechanical things I thought I would ask. Will take it to Rtech next week to get it checked but just on the off chance......
  10. did the throttle body today (thanks to the wonderful guide above) and although only nipped to shops, no stalling or lack of turbo so let's hope that's cracked it. Left an email with Rtech as could not connect to their phone number today for some reason.
  11. Briliant! I did the throttle body today. It wasn't too bad and I have only nipped to the shops but no stalling or lack of turbo and did seem smoother (Possibly my imagination!) Does a dirty throttle body cause that many problems?
  12. Is that it? Thought it would be hundreds of pounds so thanks will get one ordered on friday.
  13. and the other stupid question is how do I scan for the codes myself?
  14. I hate to admit this but my mechanical knowledge is pants to say the least! Will attempt the thottle body when I get chance as I have been pointed in the right direction of how to do it! And an n75 is? (try not to laugh!) The gasket for the throttle bosy, I presume that's from main dealer only?
  15. No, not scanned for fault codes. is this something Rtech can do?
