  1. Deal is called Affinity - caravan club is one of those that can access deal. You go to any Volvo dealer and order the car as normal with whatever options and just tell them (will eventually ask to see membership) you want it through the caravan club deal. The deal is detailed under Member Offers on the CC website (have to login to see it). Bear in mind the dealer gets a fixed handling fee so you can't barter with the trade in price as you normally would. Hope this helps. Still can't decide whether to try to sell the 3.6 privately or just trade in for the end of this month.
  2. Check the following thread: 3.6 4x4 pricing / anyone know this car? The twindoor has a massive very useful boot with very easy access in hatchback mode. Bit like the old Saab 9000 Hatchback size wise. Mine is the Petrol Blue which is a reasonably dark colour with the black leather. Blue looks lovely when polished, changes colour slightly according to the light. Both newbies so can't PM you I think.
  3. They might share the floor pan with a mondeo but that is where the similarity ends. Previous car was a face-lift S80. Still miss it. Supremely comfortable cruiser as is the XC70. Have test driven the new 2.0 drive-e engine - very nice but will likely trade the Superb 3.6 4x4 Elegance (if I can't sell privately) in for the D4 AWD as I like the AWD for traction when towing. The D4 AWD is the same engine as the D5 mechanically (twin turbo) just detuned to try to tempt you to spend the extra for the D5! The tuners can chip both to the same 235Hp and 470Nm.
  4. Volvo deal is 10% off list (pre-vat) including options then a fixed discount (depending on model - £4500 for XC70), free metallic, 5 years servicing for £500 and 50% interest free. So almost £10K off XC70 although they are still towards £30k.
  5. Hi I can confirm this works for EE. Had BlueVPn, car paired with LG G2 on rSAP but no data and get "GPRS access point invalid" on maxidot and "Connection negotiation failed assigned ip null" on phone when try BlueVPN. Go into BlueVPn settings and set Access Point to "everwhere", UserName to "eesecure", Password to "secure". In car on maxidot Phone settings under Data set Access Point to "everywhere". Run BlueVPN, select SKODA_BT et voila, data and extra double arrow symbol in maxidot top phone display. Thanks to all the previous comments. Great forum. Hope this helps anyonelse trying to set it up. Should be worth it for the call quality and great signal strength.
  6. Only complaint I meant to mention is that tiny fuel tank. S80 had a huge tank and could easily do 800 miles on one fill up. Haven't done a long enough journey to see what get out of one tank on a long trip yet or what the economy is like towing. Hopefully won't be much worse than the S80 which only did mid 25mpg with a van on the back.
  7. I also have a 3.6 superb and apart from the usual Skoda nightmare of fitting towbar electrics I love it. On my daily commute 8 miles each way, with a mixture of 20,30,50 mph roads I get 27mpg average. Thats driving sensibly using the torque but still mostly overtaking rather being overtaken, in fact the driving style is much the same as my old S80 diesel, which before I get the normal volvo comments was no slouch. The 3.6 is always there ready to go when you want it. Coupled with the DSG it is a nice drive although a little harsh with the standard 18" 40 profiles (S80 had 17" 50 profiles which are a lot more cossetting!). On the motorway after collecting it I got 35mpg sat at 70 and the few trips I have made to Manchester, 30 miles on motorway with 6-7 miles in town I have got around 30-32. Doing the same sort of trips in a 2.0 petrol C30 (Focus based small coupe) I only get a couple of mpg more. Not bad I thought. Oh and did I say that 3.6 with the DSG and 4WD is a blast, you can floor it at any point and not have to worry about wheelspin. It just goes (accompanied by quite a nice V6 sound track). The pick up can be a little sharp and the brakes are very sharp but at least you don't worry about whether it will stop. Have used the paddles quite a bit but not driven with it in Sport as it is lively enough in normal mode. Got this as a mid life crisis car and haven't regretted it. The S80 was a fantastic car to commute in, supremely quiet and comfortable with 47-55mpg on the motorway and oodles of torque, but when on the A/B roads you missed the top end go which is where the 3.6 comes in! Big, practical with that huge hatch, comfortable, not quite as quiet as S80 but goes like shxt of a shovel when you want it to. Car has only done 13,500 of which I have only done a 1000 so I am guessing it will loosen up even more yet. Can't wait! Still can't believe that you can get a car like this 18 months old for £15K. The equivalent audi would be at least £8k more and not be any nicer inside or quicker.
  8. DOH! Got Workshop manual and wiring diagrams and can see Columbus with 8 speaker doesn't have separate amp hence why I can't find it!
  9. Ok, thanks Mart Vrs. I was brave and removed seat cushion, b pillar trim and rear shelf (in that order) and can see there is no connector. Nice, replace main loom when hatch opened too many times!! Will need to tap onto loom in b pillar then. Regards d_aero
  10. Hi, am looking at tapping into reverse wire for towbar. Can see the wires go out the top left of the tailgate but if remove grommet couldn,t see/pull enough of the cable to see if there was a connector. Is there a connector do you know and is it on the car body side or on the tailgate? Thanks in advance.
  11. Hi, I know this sort of subject keeps getting raised but I haven't found a clear answer in any other posts. I have a Superb II 3.6 Elegance Saloon (2012) with the Columbus Sat Nav and eight speakers but find the bottom end doesn't have the presence I like. Thought I would add a active sub, plenty of room in spare tyre in boot or even under passenger seat. Now for the question - where is the amplifier and what is the wire coding? The only unit under the front seats is the bluetooth (under the drivers seat). My battery is in the boot if that helps. Thanks in advance. Sorry - meant to post this in Skoda Superb II forum not the Technical guides.
  12. Thanks for reply. There aren't any other units under either seat. Is it ever located anywhere else? Out of interest my battery is in the boot. Does that mean I have different wiring/setup as its the V6?
  13. Hi, am thinking of wiring in a sub under front of passenger seat. Have looked at the wiring in the pdf above but it doesn't match. I was asuming that the amp is the unit under the drivers seat but having looked up the numbers on it I can see this is the bluetooth unit! (Box has VW badge with label 3C8 035 730 B made by "novero". PU: 339270853 HFU: A09597559). Thought it was a bit small for an amp! Does anyone know where the amp is please and have the wiring details and colours for the UK. Is a 2012 3.6 Elegance with Columbus and Navigation.
  14. Thanks for that. I got a phone call from Skoda UK this morning. The 1.8 TSI 2WD should, as you stated be 1300, with 1.8 TSI Scout at 1500Kgs. They seems quite pleased that I had found the error, whilst being very surprised that it had slipped through 2 years worth of Brochures! Unfortunately for me 1500Kgs is not enough for my Van. Back to Superb I suppose if I do indeed change car.
  15. Hi guys, am thinking of getting a 1.8 TSI Scout under the zero VAT scheme but am not sure about the towing weight. The brochure suggests 1800Kg for a non 4x4 1.8 TSI but only 1500 for the 4x4 or Scout. The lower powered 1.6D even gets 1600Kg as does the Superb 1.8 TSI 4x4. These figures (particularly the 1800Kg) don't seem right. Could somebody with a 1.8 TSI Scout check the proper figures from the Weights Plate under the bonnet somewhere please. The towing weight is the difference between the highest weight and the max vehicle laden weight. Thanks in advance. Great Website guys.
