  1. id agree with RichF when i had a 2.0 turbo TT as a courtesy car a couple months back, on just my normal motorway drive to work it returned about 27mpg. to the point where i had an argument when I refused to fill it back to the point I got it considering it did about 25-30 mpg less than my A3
  2. funny enough I had contact from the new owner through here. wont out him in case he doesnt want to be named but its nice to hear from them. now i need to persuade him to sell it to me!! mwaaaahahahah (evil laugh mode off)
  3. Ive made the situation even worse. Had the opportunity over the weekend to have a little blast in a mates Abarth 500 essesse, not as fast as the old furby but god its got me REAAAALLLY wanting a petrol back! I may have to bite the bullet soon and chuck the diesel in for something! take the mpg hit as Im bound to drive it like I stole it!
  4. reply 1: she was all good, not a drop of oil used in the time i owned her... tell a lie i think i stuck a litre in at about 9k miles. reply 2: the interior just felt a bit more modern, my audi is a 57. horrible red displays everywhere, plus I got far to excited about the dial staging in the VRs! reply 3: I enjoy seeing 58-60mpg on the dash now Im doing 20k miles a year and obviously if I had an S3 i would not be complaining, but I dont, i have a 2.0TDi 140bhp Sport which to me in comparison to the VRS is **** :( and the worst thing is... now ive had a payrise i could afford 20k miles at 38-40 mpg now!!! anyone want to find my old car or swap me theirs Pleeeeeeeeeeease!
  5. Its been 8 months now since I traded in my 2011 Fabia vrs in for a disgusting diesel A3 due to having to do much bigger miles. And every day since i have longed for her. i long for the whistling supercharger, I long for the speed, the power, I long for that lovely interior the black and white trip computer. the small things I miss. i miss spending sundays giving her a polish! if there is a God, one day, we will be re united GF11 UMX! sincerely... A very Sad ex-skoda owner :(
  6. Ive got the squeaky suspension fault plus the following after 10 months rattling instrument binnacle perspex rattling passenger door card intermittent fault where the passenger window wont undo car unlocking itself overnight locking the car and returning to it with the 2 front windows open bu 10mm ESP far too intrusive on a spirited drive to the point where I now just turn it off twice when switching from manual to drive loss of power completely till engine switched off and restarted. just afew then :(
  7. am i the only one thinking, if its that dull you stuggle to see the numbers on your dials, passing under a tree... sidelights at least should probably be on anyway, just saying.
  8. not sure if mines the same, ive pressed the binnacle to try an sort it and this didnt seem to work :/ dealer trip required it seems
  9. just wondered if anyone else had experienced this, I have a VRs thats 6 months old. and at speeds up to 40mph i have an intermittent crackling noise coming from behind the instrument binnacle. the only thing I can liken the noise to is the sound in your head when you have popping candy in your mouth. anyone have any idea what it could be?
  10. Just a thread to praise the VRs on the ability it has to make long journeys feel like nothing at all! last weekend decided last minute to visit my mates home town of truro for a bank holiday weekend of beer o clock, cue a 750 mile round trip needing to be carried out. on the way down, the journey was terrible, took almost 8 hours, 1.5 of which i was sat engine off on the M25 doing nothing waiting for a crash to clear! took two 10 minute breaks for a jimmy riddle and yet when we got there we both still felt pretty refreshed. the seats in the VRs are really comfortble and supportive and the cruise control came in handy. no other car I have been in has made that journey bearable at all! the same story on the way back, no aches no pains, simple smooth driving. and even traveling at a journey average of 65 mpg (make of that what you will) the cabin was a nice place to be, no excessive noise and still returned around 41mpg. must say I was pleasantly impressed!
  11. is your car parked on the street or on a driveway. if its on the street, you cant really moan.. kids do kind of have the right to have a laugh and play, what do you lot want, for them all to stay indoors and play video games, getting fat!
  12. personally i wouldnt buy one below the FR TDI, enough torque to make it feel nicely quick enough, and when i test drove it, spiritedly shall we say, it returned 45mpg. motorway cruise youd get 60 easy!
  13. i owned the 1.6 petrol 105ps and tbh it wasnt great, the car was brilliant to drive round corners but it wasnt very powerful other than round town, motorways you were always left wanting more, and although SEAT claimed 45mpg combined, my 2 year average was 31.2 which I thought was terrible. I can only imagine the 1.4 or 1.2 would struggle even more.
  14. how much are the TMC tuning boxes, because I thought TMC were a diesel tuner, cant find the 1.4 TSI box on their web page, maybe Im being blind.... :S
