  1. No worries. Mine was also the ABS module in Simpsons Skodas (Colne) 'opinion'. Yet it was sent off to an independent company which found it had no fault found. Skoda replaced the module anyway which didnt fix the issue. Turns out the wire loom had corroded. Which was replaced and fixed the issue. Yet Simpsons claim that both issues were the fault.
  2. I've posted a video of what happened to mine. Is it the same issue? 20191117_000957_1_1_1_1.mp4
  3. Check under the spare wheel. It might be full of water. Also check all the carpets and make sure they're dry.
  4. It module has already been to ecu testing they said it was fine but the fault still remains. I'm just getting it fixed by skoda, I dont want to but I want that piece of mind that it has been fixed by them. As I plan on getting rid of the car that same day. I've had the car for 4 years, I've loved every second of it but soon as it had a big bill I was going to sell. I cant / dont want the DSG, the engine or whatever else decides to die next, to be another big fat bill. I appreciate all the help you guys have given me over the years too 🍻🍻 Here's their breakdown anyway..
  5. I've already emailed them (Simpson's Colne) for that information. You're not the only one that thinks its excessive. I've spoken to 'live chat' on the skoda website but they were useless. I've just finished work so just need to find and email Skoda UK. See what their thoughts are on this.
  6. This is the fault that they sent me on their online. But yes for an ABS module (or pump as the technician said) this is the cost all in. I am going to write to skoda UK about the cost.
  7. Car has been left at Skoda today. Drove it from my garage to Simpson's and nothing came up on the dash, car felt great to drive although I didn't boot it at all. They're looking at it on Thursday so I will report back then.
  8. As far as I am aware yes. Everything was checked and rechecked.
  9. Update on this. It's an odd one, now I've had it looked at in a bit of detail I'm hoping someone can shed some light. As the post says, its booked in with Skoda on the 17th October. 'Car has developed a fault 'brake error work shop' comes up in the maxidot along with 3 beeps. Car has been into an independent garage (one that I trust and I have always used). It was plugged in and the error found was that there was no communication with the ABS module. This was sent off for repair but came back with no fault found. The ECU has also been checked to see if this is working correctly and it is. The brakes have been blead but the fault is still there. The battery has also been replaced and is working as it should. We also thought that it could be due to the CANBUS causing an electrical fault. So we put the old swing unit back in the car in replacement of my android head unit. I cant drive the car as it sometimes cuts power when the fault comes up and because it's a brake fault the DSG will not let you take it out of park when the fault is on the dash. Other times it will go into limp mode. Anyone any advice? The car is 2013. Done 43,000 miles. Serviced by skoda every year. I need a car for work so it might be time to sell cheap for spares or repair. Car is booked in to now be seen by Skoda next week.' 🤞
  10. Hi I have posted about 'Brake Error, Work shop' displaying on the maxidot, last year or so. I ended up charging the battery and it seemed to have solved the problem back then. Recently the same error displayed time and time again so I had the battery replaced. So new battery in and it displayed the same error on the maxidot again, but this time when I tried starting the car it fired up and was good to go. Has anyone experienced this and got a fix? Theres literally one solution that I have found on the internet and it points to the battery. I did try speaking to Skoda but they actually didn't care to know about the issue unless I booked it in with them. Any ideas are welcome. Cheers
  11. Apologies is I'm sounding a bit thick but I can't see it on here. 🙃🙃🙃 Sorry
  12. Is that so I know which one of these I need? And thank you for your reply mate.
  13. Hi all. Not posted in a while but the car came back from a successful MOT but the car had a couple of advisories (See Image). I want them replacing sooner rather than later but struggling to find them online. The mechanic said he could source them for me but ideally I would rather buy and supply myself first. He also mentioned that I should buy the whole wishbone for each side as it isn't too expensive and would be easier to fit. I have looked on here but the search hasnt brought up my answer. Thanks
  14. Im guessing it is the battery. It threw up a couple of other errors on the that just went away within seconds. I couldnt catch what the maxi dot said. But it left the tyre pressure symbol on that just went off on its own. I think the car just needs a good run out. It has been sat in the garage for the past 5 weeks so that could have some sort of explination as they could have left doors open on it while it has been having its repairs. If it continues over the next couple of days i will just get it plugged in.
  15. After hooking up the wifes car to mine and letting the jump leads do their thing the VRS is now alive again. Seems like it was a drained battery. Going to leave the car for a few hours to see if it holds its charge, if not its time to find the issue.
  16. You dont need any map to deal with those kind of mods. But seeing a VRS that has been put on H&R springs will definitely not jump out as its been modified as it looks how it should have looked. I am thinking about getting a rear anti roll bar for mine but ive never got round to it. Shame youre getting it put back stock
  17. Thanks for your reply. Im thinking it is a flat battery too, i had seen that above post last night when it happened bit again it was pitch black. The car was perfectly fine at 230pm until i went to drive it at 8pm last night. Ill post back with my findings later on but i have my fingers crossed for it just being the battery.
  18. Morning I have just got in my MK2 Fabia VRS. 2013 plate. Put the key in the ignition, dash lights up but no power to the engine. Maxidot then displays Brake Error Workshop. I also can not move my gears out of park and on the gear knob (not the dash) the P is flashing. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I can not get it to a garage as i can not move it. Thanks.
  19. Off topic but arnt you the guy who lives / works local to me? How have I not seen your car about yet?
  20. Home from work and got my paperwork out. The DSG update they did was the 34H5 'gearbox control unit software update'. The thing at the top of the engine is literally the top part that secures the engine cover. Closer to the window as you look at the engine. (See picture). They wanted £51.44 for it to be replaced. The description on the paperwork is 'pipe damaged that secures engine cover'. It's no breather pipe etc.. Apologies for any confusion but it's hard to explain. The picture is from my service records sent to me by Simpson's via text message.
  21. Skoda told me this. I'll let you know what code it is when I get home. Interesting. They said it was an update to reduce clutch slip. Explains why others I've spoken to haven't had that done on there's. They make me mad do dealers but I'm only using them as I know how fragile the 1.4tsi engine is. It's the one at the top,it's connected to a pipe that goes along the top of the engine. Can not tell you what it's called. It wasn't cheap to replace. I'd need the pipe replacing too. I don't have the picture to show you.
