  1. GOt the car back. Sensor replaced under warranty and advised to thrash it once a week to regenerate it as it is not designed to do 70mph on a motorway
  2. Mine has done 32k with the problem just starting. Looks like using 1 tank of BP ultimate diesel and doing 60mph in 6th gear to conserve fuel on the motorways has done the damage. In my view this is a design fault and as such is a warrenty repair.
  3. I don't see how that Skoda leaflet would ever stand up in court. If you drive your car like any normal car and the DPF fails it is Skodas fault for a stupid design fault and that sounds like simply trying to weasle out of paying. Reminds me of the coil packs screw up a few years ago
  4. Ahh so driving economically on the motorway in 6th which is what it was designed for is a problem :thumbdwn: Not good really but alas mine is at the dealer after DPF light and then glowplug light coming on for a check up. I assume from this they will say all ok especially since the lights went off but VAG need to sort this issue out for owners. It seems the whole VAG range with the 170bhp engine is afflicted with this issue. Currently waiting for the missus to pick me up from work in the little put put Honda:(
  5. That has just happened to my vRS. Went into limp mode with the dash like a christmas tree. Gets 2 miles away from the dealer and suddenly DPF light and glow plug lights go out and the car runs fine!!!!. However the engine emmisions light stayed on so I have left the car at the dealer to get it checked. Going to be tomorrow now before I hear anything which is annoying as I need the car.
  6. Droplink at a guess. cheap fix and common on Octys
  7. Bought mine privately and the main reason was it had been serviced every 12k. as a result it felt the best of the ones I tried. I do not like this 20k and variable service intervals. Mine goes in every 12k and is running like a dream on 115k miles and 215bhp. If you have any question marks on the cambelt then I would change it.
  8. Yup definately droplinks and a cheap fix. Octys well known for em.
  9. Will agree to disagree but I found the civic type S underpowered for a so called warm hatch. Very nice car but slow and found the steering wheel could not be set to not obscure the top of the speedo. Again many I know have found mpg dissapointing and I read a thread on civinfo when I was looking about dissapointing mpg's
  10. 50mpg from the civic is a tad optamistic imho. I know a good few owners not getting figures like that at all. I test drove a Type Sgt but found it very underpowered with only 140BHP and preferred the vRS. difference for me is 9p for the skoda and 12p for the civic although I will be seeing the boss to up the 9p per mile on the skoda. the vRS is due on July 17th
  11. Running a CC1 remap in my Octy vRS. Done 30k miles on it and it is superb and well worth the money.
  12. Test drove the Leon and really liked it but not enough space so the vRS for me it was
  13. Mines a company car also so the reg plate is irrelevent to me. I just want the damn thing!!!!!
