  1. I use vcds on a number of non vag cars and find as good at engine diagnostics as many more expensive code readers, gives lots of info
  2. I would definitely check timing belt first, cam sensor easy enough to change.
  3. If you cant hear fuel pump check fuses, to check if pump runs pull hose from filter and stick in a bottle turn on key switch and check for flow.
  4. Is the fuel pump in the tank running, you can hear it run for about 2 seconds when you turn the key switch on. If it does run switch it on 5 or six times to bleed the fuel system. Check for any diagnostic codes if you have a scanner.
  5. You need to read the fault code with vcds, vcds lite is a free download and a cable can be bought for about £20 from somewhere like Gendan.
  6. Only a scope would be able to tell you if number one inj.fuel solenoid was operating correctly allowing the inj.to fire instead of returning the fuel to tank.
  7. You could check the injecter wiring harness, If it where mine I would use a oscilloscope to test injector solenoids, crank and cam sensor readings, also use a impulse sensor with the scope to check intake and exhaust readings.
  8. I find that strange, not aware that pd engine has misfire detection, what's the code number
  9. Injectors are adjustable, but they require a dti to set up, I would give it time to settlle down first and check all other sensors for correct readings first.
  10. What other codes are you getting, does the engine start with easy start, is the fuel contaminated with water, are compression reading up to spec. Is the crank sensor working.
  11. Google vw maf sensor wirring, plenty of information
  12. If your satisfied that tank pump is ok then tandem pump is faulty
  13. Even crank pressure should be much higher than the reading you are getting, is the in tank pump delivery up to spec.
  14. Tandem pump should be 3-5 bar at idling, tank pump about 15 psi and a delivery of about one litre a minute.
  15. Fuel pressure at the tandem pump should be 3 bar at idling, in tank pump should deliver about a litre a minute
  16. No way of checking pd injectors with vag com, oscilloscope used with a current clamp is book method of checking . They take about 20amps to operate solenoid valve with a 50% reduction in pwm once the solenoid is closed.
  17. I believe carista will cover all modules on a 2015 Superb
  18. Again many thanks for sharing , a very informative video that explains testinhg of can bus signals, have learned a lot from it.
  19. Seems like they have given you a 180k ohm instead of 180 ohm.Take it back and change it.
  20. I think the clue is in the lasr fault code, system to lean, have a good look at all the vacuum hoses for leaks, put a vacuum gauge on the car at idle, you should see 18-21 inches of vac.holding steady. Test ccomponents before replacing them. VCDS is only a starting point in diagnostics dont take everything it tells you as gospel.
  21. Why not start a new thread with your problem, if you suspect your injectors to be loose or the seals have failed, it is an easy fault to diagnose.
  22. All the trying to point the finger of blame at someone someone else is not going to work, the starting fault was there before anyone placed a spanner on the vehicle.. Injectors coming loose on this engine is not unknown, have a look at some off the VW forum.
  23. After what you have already spent the last thing you want to do is a bodge job, it is possible to have the cylinder head bored out and sleeves shrunk in but I dont no what the cost would be against the cost of a new cylinder head, You could also look round for a low milage replacement engine, needs a lot of careful thought, good luck with whatever you decide. You have certainly made for some interesting discussion on this forum.
