  1. I have 2002 OI 1.6 AVU engine. The wires from the cruise control switches are supposed to be connected to the pins 1,2,3,9 on the black connector in the box under the wiper motor. Then the 9th should also go to 5th fuse. Now my confusion started when I opened the box and there were some wires already connected to those pins. Am I supposed to add my wires there or replace those wires with mine? Does anybody know what those wires might be? My fuzzy understanding was the connectors come from switches and devices and the sockets lead to the ECU. could someone explain please.
  2. thanks guys, it worked! well sort of the odometer now shows 'km' and value in kms, but the consumption display still says 'MPG miles' , but shows in l/100km. So perhaps a specific display is required too, but i am ok with what i got. thanks for you help
  3. good to "hear" that, any chance you know the steps how to do that?
  4. Googled a bit, seems to me the maxidot thingy is some kind of menu on the center display. I don'thave that though, it's 2002 Octavia, It only has the small display under the rpm gauge.
  5. thanks for your reply, not sure however what is MaxiDot settings. I am new to Octavia, just got a 2nd one recently. It's Octavia I Ambiente. could you give a little more details please.
  6. Hi, may be it's a stupid or naive question, but is it possible to make the car display fuel consumption in litres/100km rather than mpg? Don't know whether this is just down to ecu settings or it's the car itself - ecu sw, display etc. thanks guys
  7. Although this thread seems dead, I will share one link. It's BOSCH online catalog where you can find part numbers for lambda sensors, MAFs and many other stuff of theirs. Just look up your car and browse the suitable parts http://www.bosch-automotive.com/ecat-online/
  8. Hi guys, just bought an used octavia. everything looked fine. until I hooked it up to my obd2 cable (just for the sake of fun, even thought there was no MIL on). It scantool.net said P0135. I wondered why MIL doesn't indicate anything, then i found it doesn't work at all, it doesn't come even when i turn on the ignition (without starting the engine). Is it possible to use VAG to disable MIL completely? (perhaps the previous owner decided to pay someone 10e to disable the MIL light instead of 100euro for a new lamba?) Or would it be the LED in the dashboard gone? thanks for any suggestions
