  1. Hi, just wondering if you had any indication of chain problem i.e. rattle on start up or did it just jump
  2. Yes, after reading good reviews, thought I would give them a try.
  3. The 17 inch alloys were to crashy wanted a more comfortable ride , I was recommended that Michelin cross climate were the best all round tyres, as I am getting older comfort is more important.
  4. Will certainly check next time, just thought they knew what was the correct size recommended by Skoda. Thanks for input .
  5. No idea just went with what he recommended.
  6. Just went with what the tyre fitter recommended.
  7. Here's my Monte on 15 inch alloys and Michelin cross climate tyres, ready for winter, ride is a lot smoother.
  8. Had a stainless steel back box fitted to my Monte cost was about £160 from a garage in Leek .
  9. Thanks for reply 2ndskoda, does the chain usually start to rattle before any problems or can it stretch , snap or jump without warning.
  10. Have read over the past few years about the faulty timing chains fitted to the 2011 1.2 TSI It has got me wondering if the majority of engine's from this year have shown problems or are there quite a few high millage still going strong with no problems, is it a case of if or when this chain shows problems.
  11. Hi mrgf, where did you get your boot lifters from , just been looking on eBay loads for sale but I am unsure which ones to get , they just say gas filled struts , are these the correct ones. Thanks.
  12. Hi, my 2011 1.2 T.S.I Monte is getting on a bit now although low mileage, the cam chain sounds fine but I am a bit concerned about the horror stories about this chain and got me wondering if it is worth having the new chain kit fitted as a precautionary measure or just waiting until I hear the dreaded rattle, does anyone know what the cost to have the work done will be, and if this is a permanent solution to the old cam chain problem.
  13. Thanks for all replies, does anyone know what the coding is
