  1. Just a thought - surely the key to which engine/which car is actually the ECU. I believe on the 1.6 Common Rail, it was the newer Simos PCR2.1 ECU that was fitted. Is VW's skullduggery limited to this particular unit?

  9. Hi, Not a criticism as such, but it was recently pointed out to me the dangers of arms crossing the wheel. with modern cars. I passed my test long before air-bags! Your right fore-arm spends a lot of time over the airbag area. Consequences following deployment could be fatal. Just saying......

  11. "Performance enhancing drugs are banned in the Olympics. OK, we can swing with that. But performance ‘debilitating’ drugs should not be banned. Smoke a joint and win the 100 metres, fair play for you. That's pretty good. Unless someone's dangling a Mars bar off in the distance." - Eddie Izzard
  12. I’m new to this weightlifting jargon. But it gets my attention, when legitimately in 2 sentences, they mention snatch, nailed, cleaned and jerked……. “….Smith was fourth after the snatch, with a lift of 90kg, having failed twice at a new British best attempt of 93kg. The 18-year-old nailed her second attempt at 121kg in the clean and jerk, to wild applause from the home fans at the ExCel Arena. ”

  14. They're all drive by wire now so pedal is basically a glorified dimmer switch. Would be interesting to see output on vcds, may be faulty or getting interference from brake. Alternatively cars increase revs at tickover if the electrical current demand cannot be met, so you may have a short to do w,ith the brake light switch or battery/alternator issue. Take it to the dealers if you're covered, it will be interesting finding out the cause.
