  1. Thank you! I have forwarded details to my insurer.
  2. Checked with the insurer "It’s the actual average sale price, called “Retail Transacted”, the trade price that garages buy in at is much lower." Given there's nothing of the same spec on the market, how can I get them to match what it would cost me to replace?
  3. WBAC quoted £9660, so it seems the offer is fair.
  4. My 2014 Manual Estate (59k miles) VRS 220 has been written off. The insurers have offered the Glass' guide valuation (£12580) as there's nothing on the market to compare it against. If anyone is aware of a car, of a close spec for sale (I've checked Autotrader), advertised publicly, please let me know!
  5. The rear washer has always been awful on my VRS Combi, no more powerful than a hamster with a bladder infection. It recently stopped working altogether. Has anyone had the same problem? I don't see fluid escaping anywhere near the boot area.
  6. Many thanks for the recommendation! These guys were brilliant, new set of locking wheel bolts on the way
  7. Good point. I bought them from mytyres, will see if they sell locking wheel bolts.
  8. Fitted ATS Emotion Mattschwarz wheels recently (winters), they came with their own wheel bolts (different length and profile). Looking for a set of locking wheel bolts as the originals obviously won't fit. What do people normally do, measure the length and profile and order to match?
  9. I'd be tempted to take the wheel off and check all the bolts are tight.
  10. Finally got around to fitting the winters, yes I know it’s February already. Need to get a set of locking wheel nuts (different bolt profile) and black covers.
  11. Had all four done in a grey/anthracite colour. I think it looks much better without the diamond cut.
  12. I’ve done the same with a set of Gemini’s, for exactly that reason. I’ll take a pic in the morning.
  13. Just went to fit the wheels to the car and realised they must have forgotten the spigot rings Mytyres are on the case.
  14. My ATS Emotion Mattschwarz wheels turned up last week, a set of Nokian WR D4 tyres should be arriving in a few hours. I'll popup a picture once they're fitted.
  15. I leave them on permanently, come in handy for bikes and DIY trips.
  16. That was your first mistake! I rarely let mine drive mine, she smashed two of the alloys on my previous MK2 VRS
  17. Thanks for the information, I copied you and ordered exactly the same from mytyres. Will source the tyres locally myself. I’ll post up a pic of what they look like on a silver VRS. Had my Gemini’s redone in a dark metallic grey a few months ago, got rid of the diamond cut finish.
  18. Used it when we had snow, seemed to help with traction somewhat, Otherwise rarely change modes.
  19. I hope you don't split your sides in anticipation <joke>
  20. So, you're essentially saying that moving from a MK2 1.9 TDI Ambiente to a MK3 TDI SE-L was a disappointment. I had a MK2 TSI VRS before my current MK3 Petrol VRS, and it was inferior in every way. I can't speak for any other models.
  21. Very true, if the approach is wrong from the teacher, people won’t learn.
  22. Sounds impressive! I'm curious what the mechanical differences are between the 220, 230 & 245, power wise.
