  1. Hi Tunedude, When I went on the Samsung page I logged in and there were a list of problems that people could be having with their phones. Looking down the list was, having trouble with bluetooth connections. I clicked on that and after a few seconds it came up with a code Skoda 3088 or something like that. The same code then came up on the car screen. I was asked if the two codes were identical and I clicked yes. After a few seconds my S9 appeared on the car screen and i was able to install all my stored numbers. The whole thing was extremely simple
  2. Hi All , Thanks for all of your comments. I finally looked at the Samsung page on the internet and did what they suggested and guess what - my S6 disappeared and the S9 was on screen. I was able to download all my contacts etc. Problem solved - Thanks again
  3. Yes , bluetooth is switched On , so should be discoverable. I am beginning to wonder if there is a fault with my new phone
  4. Hi ahenners, Yes, I had thought that this was a possibility and had switched off the bluetooth connection on the S6. However the car still shows only the S6 and although it searches it cannot find the S9 . I have even downloaded the latest Nav updates to see if that helps but all to no avail.
  5. It just tells me that the S6 is there, but searching for the S9 does not work
  6. It still tells me that my S6 is connected but will not recognise the S9
  7. When I bought my Octavia Hatch SE L 1.4TSI 150 PS DSC almost 2 years ago it linked up with my mobile phone, a Samsung S6 straight away using bluetooth. However I have just upgraded to a Samsung S9 and I cannot get the phone recognised by the car. Has anyone had a similar problem ? Does anyone know how I can get the car to recognise my new phone?
  8. Hi Thanks for all your comments. I tried logging onto the website using my tablet computer and it all went fine, so I guess that there is something in the security on my desktop computer that wouldn't allow it. Yes the car is fine and I am really pleased with it. Thanks again
  9. I have just purchased a brand new 1.4 SEl TSi Skoda and have been given a £500 Free Fuel offer. However as soon as I log on to the web page (www.skodafreefuel.co.uk) to register, I get a message telling me that for security reasons it won't let me access it. Has anyone else had a similar problem and if so have you managed to get your card. Any suggestions will be most helpful
  10. Does anyone know if there are updates to the fitted Sat Nav system in my 2011 Octavia 1.8 TSI L&K hatchback. If so where can I get a copy to install?
  11. Thanks, i'll see what they say - maybe they will provide the new badges
  12. My 1.8 Octavia L&K is coming up to the end of its warranty in September and I have noticed that the badges, especially the one at the rear, seem to be corroding on the silver parts. Is this a common problem now? I have owned Skoda cars for about 30 years and never experienced this before. Should I ask for the badges to be changed under warranty?
  13. I got my car back yesterday after 3 days. They had replaced the clutch and had to fit some shims. I haven't driven it very far as yet but it does seem to have cured the problem. Apparently any problem with the car is reported to a central base and then it is decided how to carry out the repairs. There was no problem and apparently the cost for this second repair would be in the region of £800. All in all my car has cost Skoda in the region of £3200 and it still has only done 13000 miles. I have to say that I was very pleased with the treatment I received at Progress Skoda at Northampton even down to them washing the car before handing it back to me
  14. My car is back at the dealers tomorrow so I will let you know the outcome. It has taken so long since the first repair because the dealer needs to provide me with a courtesy car and tomorrow is the first date they have one to spare - so they say.
  15. I reported this problem to my dealer and they checked it out. Apparently it was not the gearbox, but was the controller that decides which gear to be in. I was told that the part was not in stock and would have to be manufactured abroad. This was expected to take 6-8 weeks. My dealer rented me a car to use whilst I was waiting. However 6 days later I was told that the job was completed and I picked up the car. The invoice which luckily I didn't have to pay because the car is still under warranty was over £2000. At first the gear changes at start seemed ok, however since then the judder has occurred again on one or two occasions. Has anyone else experienced this? I understand that there was a problem with the oil in the gearbox but only in hot countries and England is considered not to be hot. Last summer I spent 4 weeks in Spain where the temperature was in the low 40's, but my garage didn't seem to even consider this.
