  1. Price of Yeti Servicing Last week I contacted Lightfoot Skoda at Warrington and enquired the cost of a first service for my diesel Yeti (17,800 miles, variable service schedule). They quoted £245 for servicing as per the Skoda schedule and I booked it in for Tuesday of this week (6 November). Out of interest, I then contacted Alex Lawrie who quoted £165 for the same service and offered to collect and return the car from and to my home. (I know, I should have rung round for prices before booking the car in with Lightfoot!) I contacted Lightfoot and cancelled my booking (less than an hour after booking it). They asked the reason and, on my telling them the price from Alex Lawrie, they immediately offered to match it. I commented that this raised questions about their business practises and they asked if their Service Manager could call me back to discuss this – I am still waiting for the call! The car was serviced yesterday by Alex Lawrie, who collected the car and returned it serviced, badges changed under Skoda recall, washed inside and out and with a ‘spare’ bottle of screen-wash. All at their quoted price of £164. The moral seems to be ring round for prices – not all Skoda dealers are equal.
  2. Price of Yeti Servicing at Lightcliffe Skoda Warrington Last week I contacted Lightcliffe Skoda at Warrington and enquired the cost of a first service for my diesel Yeti (17,800 miles, variable service schedule). 3. Does anybody on Briskoda still not know that Rockhopper has a re-mapped Yeti with flappy paddles? - although I think there was one post in July when he didn't mention it! Sorry Rockhopper, only joking, I always enjoy your posts. Malc
  4. 9003, Unless I have missinyerpreted your post, you refer to Autotradres. The company I am dealing with is AUTOFINDERS. Autofinders do know who the company is, though no details have been provided. I do hope this is a one off problem as Autofinders have, in all other respects, been a responsive, professional company who, providing this problem is a one off and is resolved, I would recommend and would use again. Malc
  5. Just a quick update on the VC5 registration paper. Last week I received a VC5 for my Yeti -from the DVLA - everything fine I am the First Registered Keeper. About a week later I received a second VC5 from the DVLA -all details correct EXCEPT I am now listed as the second registered keeper. The vehicle is listed as first registered to a company who I have never heard of. Yesterday I received a letter from the DVLA asking me to return the first VC5 document and they will send me a ' correct' one! Not sure what is going one. Autofinders are looking into it, but I am getting concerned. Malc
  6. Thanks- let me know how you get on I'd love to be able to use the whole 32 gb for music files. Sounds a bit sad I know but I did 25 years plus as a DJ and consequently have a wide taste in music and a big music collection.

  9. Merlinman, the handbook only tells part of the story. The Bolero will read 32gb of data PROVIDING they information is in less than 2000 individual files. A 32gb Card will hold in excess of 4000 tracks ie 4000 files. The Bolero will only read and display about 2000 of these. I've tested it in practise and had it confirmed by Skoda CZ. Try a search in the ICE and Insurance section I'm sure there is a mire detailed explanation on there.
  10. Hi Jane I've had exactly the same story with a few additions - on taking delivery, Autofinders told me that the DVLA would take 6 weeks to porocess the Document. When the 6 weeks expired they told me that the DVLA were taking 12 weeks because of the backlog. After 12 weeks they told me that they had the V5 from the DVLA but it had to be sent back because there was a spelling mistake on it. It is a pity that Autofinders aren't more explicit about any 'odd' procedures they are using to keep prices down - at least we could choose to go along with it or not. More importantly don't let any of this spoil your enjoyment of the new car!!!!!!!!
  11. Hi janesdsg Got my Yeti from Autofinders in Chesterfield in March (steel grey 2.0 Ellegance). Autofinders were problem free and I am still delighted with the car. However, despite phone calls and e-mails I still have not received my registration documents - 4 months later. Autofinders assure me it is the DVLA who is at fault but I am beginning to wonder if there is some other "reason" behind the delay. Be interested to hear how you get on. Enjoy your car. Malc
  12. With you on this JCP ( and I'm 63). The real point is that Skoda are being a bit disingenuous in the information they provide. Ie they state the Bolero will read a 32gb card ( which it will). It just won't read all of it if the information (whether it is music, text, or whatever) is held in more than 2000 files.
  13. Got my Yeti in March. Yeti Ellagance with Bolero and bluetooth My iPhone 4 worked 1st time and every time since. You should have no problems
  14. One thing. To consider with the SD card is - although the Bolero will read 32gb cards, there is a limit on the total nber of files the Bolero will handle. A 32gb card holds in the region of 4000 average sized mp3 music files. The Bolero will only read about 2000. This has been confirmed by Skoda CZ. There is a comprehensive thread in the IC group. Worth a look.
  15. The procedure I went through with Autofinders was as follows :- 1. AF gave me a quote for the car and spec I wanted. 2. AF e-mailed me. Detailed questionnaire asking me to fill in details of the vehicle I intended to PX. Which I completed and e- mailed Back. 3. Within 2 days AF e-mailed a PX offer. Deposit (£500 I think) was paid by credit card which gives protection if the company goes bust, etc. There was no charge for using a credit card for the deposit. I collected the car at Chesterfield at the AF offices and left my old car there. After fully inspecting the new vehiicle I paid the balance by debit card (obviously I made sure I had sufficient funds in my current account). There was no quibbling about the PX even though AF had not, until then, seen the car. I suggest you give them a ring and check the procedure. I understand they will arrange delivery and collection if needed. Malc
