  1. Sat nav antenna has arrived so that will be in with the Columbus. I've changed the price to £400 at the top.
  2. I'm not sure about that but I would guess it is for Shark only remaps.
  3. For sale is a Shark STS unit with cable. It's in excellent condition. This would allow you to switch between a Shark remap and standard map on your car. You would still need to buy the actual remap software from Shark, the handset allows you to switch between the two maps whenever you want and also shows diagnostic fault codes. It also has an immobiliser mode which stops the car being started if you were leaving it for a while. The handset reads your original engine map which can then be emailed to Shark by plugging the STS into a computer. They do their work on the map, email the remap back then you can load it onto the car. You can then switch between the 2 using the STS handset. The car it was for was put back to the standard map which should allow a new user to use it on any car Shark says it is compatible with. £60 posted.
  4. I have bought a new sat nav antenna to go with the Columbus so everything needed is included now.
  5. I've got a Shark STS box and I'm just wondering if anything needs done to it before I could sell it? I'm not sure if the box needs reset or wiped or anything like that for a new user. I tried phoning Shark themselves but the guy I spoke to didn't know and they never phoned back to let me know.
  6. It doesn't look exactly the same as mine, which is a T shape where as yours is an L shape, but as you tighten up it will eventually click and feel like something has slipped or given way inside the wrench when you get to the correct torque and that's it done.
  7. The Columbus has 2 white aerial inputs and the blue GPS input. The original Stream stereo just has the one aerial input so the adapter gives both Columbus inputs a signal. I'm not exactly sure why this is but some stuff I had read suggested it's to do with receiving AM/FM and traffic information signals at the same time. I don't know if you would get away with just the one aerial plug going into it as I had already bought the adapter before installing it so it will come with the stereo. I'm guessing cars which have the Columbus from the factory must have 2 cables running from the aerial or something.
  8. I'd lost track of the more recent firmwares and had never updated it again after it was first installed but that's good to know, thanks.
  9. Oops, Octavia trim that should be in the title, no idea what an Octavis is! Edited that out of the title, didn't notice the full editor button.
  10. I have sold my Octavia and I was going to hang onto the Columbus in case I got another Skoda, as it's a genuine one out of a UK car, but that's not likely to happen for a few years so no point in it sitting around. It's an LED screen Columbus with the mic button at the top right- part number 3T0 035 680 A and it is on SW 2764. It has a manufacture date of June 2010. The security code comes with it and it has 7 digit postcode search. It is in excellent condition. The security labels on the body are all intact. Included is the Columbus itself, a twin antenna adapter, a manual and some invoices. One is from Skoda for £1610 showing the car it was removed from which was getting a new unit fitted under insurance (2010 Superb). Another is from a Skoda dealer near me for getting the security code once I had bought it and one for the dash trim panel. It had a new LED screen fitted in 2011. Hopefully all this paperwork will show it is a genuine unit. The silver dash trim is for pre facelift Mk 2 Octavias. I had a vrs but I'm assuming the panel will fit other Octavias with the same climate controls. It is part number 1Z0 858 069 R 2AU I have bought a new FAKRA sat nav antenna which will be included. You might need someone with vcds to code in that the car has nav now. After coding it worked with my Maxidot and you get directions up on that if you are using the navigation which was quite useful. I never used the hard drive for music or anything, I always just used an SD card for MP3's. If you have an AUX input or CD changer it should work with them as both worked straight away when I fitted the Columbus. If you need any other pictures or anything else, just give me a shout. £400.
  11. I do have the code and paperwork from a dealer to show it came out of a UK car which got a replacement unit fitted but I think I'm going to hang onto it just now as I'd like to have another Vrs at some point.
  12. That's it all back to the standard stereo and the car advertised now. Just need the phone to ring! I was actually surprised by the price when I put the details in webuyanycar but not sure how much they would try and reduce the offer price once you are there.
  13. Thanks for the opinions. I'm going to put the Stream back in and hang onto it I think.
  14. I'm away to sell my Octavia and am not sure whether to keep the Columbus that I fitted. What value do you think it would add to the car's price by having it in there? I know it probably makes the car more desirable having it fitted but does anyone think it's going to add the £400 ish to the car's value that they seem to go for on their own. I'm thinking about putting the Stream mp3 back in and hanging onto the Columbus as I'm sure I'll have another Octavia in the future at some point.
  15. I had the wheel well filling up as well and had seen a lot of the washer hose suggestions. Like above the water didn't seem to have any trace of screen wash and the rear washer was working fine then I stumbled across another mention about the boot seal with drain holes facing up rather than down along the bottom of the boot. Put 3 small holes in the underside, sqeezed quite a bit of water out of the seal and it's been ok since.
  16. Cheers guys, it's all been done now. Existing red carriers and new unpainted calipers so I'll just need to get some paint. The rest could probably do with a freshen up anyway.
  17. My 2007 vrs is in the garage just now. It went in originally as there was a droning at 50-70mph which I thought might be a bearing. They think it may just be tyre noise but during the investigation both rear calipers were found to be needing replaced. Are the vrs rear calipers just the same as other Octavia models? The car had red calipers but the replacements are unpainted. I wasn't sure if replacements would come red as well if they were a specific part to the vrs. I'm not that bothered if I have to get the paintbrush out to get them back to red at some point but I just want to make sure there aren't any other differences.
  18. Its a 2007 tfsi vrs. It just seems such a sudden change that it makes me think somethings up.
