  1. we waited 8 month for our vrs, very frustrating.like you many people received their cars before us who had ordered well after us, if you want to go to the top. skoda uk managing director [email protected].
  2. insurance doesnt make sense this last year, oh insurance went up from £120 odd to £474, 17 year no claims no accidents, claims or convictions, no change of address!!!! have you tried co op insurance(cis)?
  3. paid skoda insurance £297 after a little bit of haggling but new car no remap, cis offered decent quotes better than the compare sites
  4. at long last, and about time too, congratulations.
  5. just got vrs a few weeks back after 8 month wait , re the compensation, dealer told me i could have only services or accesseries!,skoda uk told me £300 of either services, accesseries or £300 marks and spencer vouchers, i got the vouchers last week.
  6. yep,had exactly the same, dealer telling me to ring suk,suk tell me to ring dealer, suk told me £300 marks and spencer vouchers, accessories or servicing.dealer denied the vouchers are available until i blew a fuse with them, now dealer saying its possible and he will request them!!! have never come across such an unhelpful sales team. can anyone who has received the compensation let me know how long they waited please? just to update...spoke to skoda uk re compensation 26/5. vouchers arrived today 7/6.
  7. thanks for the replies some good advice given, never thought of sticking plates to original ones, but the number plate off dealer is larger than standard where their name is aded to bottom, its irregular shape at bottom so will prob try the fishing line route, just recieved the v750 today from dvla so will have to sort out in the the next week or so. just a little more advice needed if anyone can enlighten me,when i send paperwork to dvla do i get a set amount of time when they issue tax disc log book etc to change the plates or do the plates have to be changed immediateley?
  8. thanks for replies.was a bit worried about damaging paintwork as its only a week old!! will try your suggestions. dont really want to drill into it, but thanks for suggestion.
  9. just bought a private number plate for the new vrs. the existing plate doesnt have screws holding it, so i assume its just stuck on, whats the best way to remove it? do i just force it off? or heat it first? be grateful for advice from anyone who has changed their plates.thanks
  10. maybe dealer had it in stock? those of us that waited up to 8 month was for diesel engines and factory orders. well done on getting car so quickly,
  11. mine has the old skoda badge, not sure but would imagine the my12 model would have new badge. i also have continental tyres was relieved when i saw them, after reading about dunlops!
  12. ok thanks, i was told when i ordered they would be vrs mats, they look like standard mats and not that good quality to me.
  13. cars going like a dream and really pleased with it, now its here i would say it was worth the wait but dont know whether i would order again with an 8 month wait and definitly i would use a different dealer than the one i bought this one off. hwmbo-mark, hope you are enjoying the vrs. off topic now but what type of car mats have people been given with their new vrs? mine are just plain black.
  14. congratulations, at last. its been a long wait for us.
  15. is that on the registration document? the only paperwork i got was the vehicle invoice when we paid for it and the registration document. and thanks everyone for the congrats, really relieved to have got the car at last and also wont have to be in contact with the dealer again hopefully. i live and learn, next time i will vote with my feet and buy elsewhere.
  16. documents on mine says octavia hatch vrs 2.0 tdi cr dpf 170 ps 6g man. stoofa, the badge is not the updated one on mine. just to add. if it helps anyone else. i asked skoda uk last week about the compensation scheme, they said dealer has to sort it. rang dealer he denied this. spoke to dealer on collection of car he again said skoda uk have to sort it. rang skoda uk today, they said dealer is wrong, after 25 weeks i am entitled to £300 marks and spencer vouchers or accesories or services from dealer. skoda uk were very helpful have contacted the dealer with what they said stern words and are phoning me back tomorrow to check dealer has contacted me.
  17. just to update......collected the vrs last night, what a great car, have already put a few hundred miles on the clock, but will have to wait till the weekend to really have some fun in it. dealer reckons we are lucky waiting 'only' 8 month!!!!!!! hope all that are still waiting take delivery soon.
  18. pleased to hear your good news at last. we must be one of the last who ordered september to get delivery.
  19. i do agree with what you say they are good value for money. but i think some folk wont order if they are told the waiting times, i for one wouldnt have ordered a vrs if they had told me back in september we wouldnt take delivery until the end of may.
  20. i really sympathise with you, just counted up the weeks and by the time i collect from dealer next week it will have been almost 35 weeks, hopefully they will bring your build date forward. dealer told me to order now we would be looking at around 1 year to delivery!!! ridiculous.
  21. not sure when it came to uk,all i know is it was build week 18, trying to get info out of dealer has been near impossible. rang skoda uk this morning to see if they were more forthcoming than the dealer, they told me it was onsiight at the dealers and advised we ring dealers and explain we had spoken to skoda uk. rang dealers, they denied it was there, but said it was due today, less than an hour later they rang to give us the number plate number and told to get it insured to pick up next wednesday. i have tracked the ships from emden and i know there has been ships in on tuesday and saturday last week at port of tyne, so i presume it was on 1 of them. i asked skoda uk about compensation scheme, they said i had to speak to dealer. dealer told me to speak to skoda uk,sounds like i will be going round in circles again!
  22. well.... the vrs is finally at the dealers after 8 long months!!!!!!!hope all you people still waiting soon get yours.
  23. i have been reading the compensation posts, wasnt sure if its still running or where i stand regarding being entitled, i was told it would be march delivery or possibly earlier(invoice says march) so ive now waited 8 month. glad you are enjoying your car, hopefully we will get ours shortly
  24. nope! havnt heard a peep off the dealer since we rang to see if it was built, he said fingers crossed we should get it in a few weeks.that was 9th may we spoke to him, havnt a clue were it is now. did you find out anything about any compensation we might be able claim? good luck with your car, hopefully you will get it soon.
