Specialist for Turbo upgrade in Dundee?
lokqust replied to lokqust's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Thought about Wallace first but surely there must be someone in Dundee of reasonable reputation that can fit or at least have a look in? -
I believe the standard turbo on my vRS is just about to take its last breath. Does anyone know of any specialists in the Dundee area that would be up to the task of fitting a PD150 and FMIC? I know Star Performance are close and have spoken to Jim but would like some other recommendations or experiances. How much should I look to pay all in for parts and fitting etc? Thanks all!

Lefton! Didn't know you were on here. I'll have to stick a thread up about mine. Get it decked.

On a note about servicing, the VW 507.00 spec oil replaces the older 505.01 that was originally recommended for the vRS and is safe to use now if I remember right? I use the Halfords vw specific in my services which is 507.00

Im going to do a full service next week and inspect all the pipes for leaks etc but if I can't find anything I guess I'll have to wait until it turns into something more serious and obvious. Out of curiosity, what is needed to run circa 200 BHP? Is it purley a case of a pd150 hybrid bolted straight on and an FMIC? Obviously a clutch/FW and brake upgrade aswell.

Hi all, I've had my 54 plate ASZ vRS for a year now and when I first got it I did a full service and noticed since that my car would very occasionally make a kind of scraping noise, metal on metal at high RPM and I would lose boost for the duration of the noise, about 5 to 10 seconds. There has never been any smoke or warning lights and VAGCOM hasn't logged any errors. That was a year ago. Fast forward to this week and the noise and boost loss is back. It only happens when Im dropping speed or accelerating, never at a constant pace and is when the car has fully warmed up. I would record the noise but it strikes randomly but when it does is very, very loud. Any one have an idea what it is at all? Any help greatly received and good karma will be yours.

I bought some from a factors for a 2004 Mondeo and they fit no problems

Im looking at the Awesome kit at the moment but think the valeo is similarly priced so will opt for the stronger Awesome.

As mentioned it's the whole unit. I got my Bosch recon from a motorfactor for £65 all in

My clutch is starting to slip at the moment so I'm looking at options available to me. I'll most likely swap out the old DMF for a new unit while I'm at it and look for something a bit stronger than OEM just to future proof the vRS a little. I've seen this clutch from Awesome GTI and wondered if anyone had a review of it? http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=47051&xSec=290 How much should I look to pay for a clutch and FW? Single mass shudder won't really bother me as I've owned many unrefined cars in my time, mostly high powered Renaults, that rattle like a maraca in a washing machine. Ewan

Tried from Recaro directly? I sourced a set for another car directly from them to avoid hassle.

Out of curiosity how much oil does your vrs use? I've topped up a couple litres every 4 months or so.
