  1. Well it came out wonky, but I think you can figure it out.

  3. Have had this happen twice recently with all the water and stones on the road. 1st one was quite scary, so loud! Even did the obligatory "brake hard then reverse and brake hard again" test and absolutely nothing changed. 6 miles home and straight out with the jack to get both front wheels off. Had a good look around, released the pads from the discs, prodded around with a small screwdriver "gently" but found nothing. But it did cure it so "Yay"!! 2nd time was only two weeks ago and we could actually tell that it was on the front right wheel. So up it went again on the jack and wheel off. This time was so simple, pinged the disc guard and out it popped. A little stone with one flattened side all polished. Just hope it doesn't happen again.
  4. I've Just had a look and it does look like its a ball and socket type jet of old, so the old pin trick should be able to move it. It might take a small amount of force to move it the first time though. I also can't be bothered to look in the manual (of which we all should have one) so don't just take my word for it. Thank you and good morning. Dom.
  5. Agreed, when the wiper is wiping, the gap is to allow the water jet to still you know, jet water.
  6. Agreed, the designers will have an answer. Had to go and have a look though, and I think that if it was flush with the rear glass window then the rear door window rubber would be the bit that sticks out. You'll get used to it.
  7. Not at 60000 just yet, but if we carry on like we're going it won't take that long, 13700m in 8 months.
  8. Well I'm here with the results of the towbar coding. Yes I know it's taken me a while, my apologies. As with so many a Škoda customer our SM couldn't tell if it ever had a trailer attached or not, other than it going a little slower . All the lights worked but the fog light stayed on (on the car), the reversing sensors went mental and I didn't get my little pic of me and my trailer on the back. We don't own our own trailer yet and borrow a friends, but to double check we used a second one. Still the same. In just under six months we've covered 10000 miles and its just been in for its first service. Knowing that they had to look at the towbar coding and replace five Škoda badges because of corrosion and whiteworm on top of the service, I was told at least three hours for the work. Fine, I'll wait. The good news is that Carrs do actually know what they are doing and have checked and corrected an issue with the coding (something about 1's and 0's in the wrong order) so that it now all works properly, little pic of trailer and so on. On top of that they actually replaced all six Škoda badges, washed our well used Monster and only took 1hr 50 mins . All in all we are very happy with the Yeti and Carrs at Indian Queens (bar the initial hiccup with the coding) and would highly recommend them to any one on here. Happy Monstering one and all. Dom.
  9. Well, as I promised in my last (and first) post on here, I'm here with the results of the tow hitch coding. Yes I know it's taken me a while, my apologies. As with so many a Škoda customer our SM couldn't tell if it ever had a trailer attached or not, other than it going a little slower. The good news though is that Carrs do actually know what they are doing and have checked and corrected an issue with the coding so that it now all works properly, little pic of trailer and so on. On another note, we had white worm on both front and rear badges and corrosion in three of the four wheel centre caps, all have been replaced under warranty and they seemed very happy to do so. All in all we are very happy with the Yeti and Carrs. Dom.
  10. That looks brilliant, thank you. I knew there was one somewhere. Dom.
  11. Thanks Mike, not too sure what i'll do yet but I really would prefer to have the spare upright. I think you loose too much space when its under the floor. Dominic.
  12. Hi Mike, I take it that you can't fit the parcel shelf back in when your spare is there. I really like what you've done there but we would still like to have the parcel shelf in place. I know that some people on here have used a proper skinny spacesaver wheel but for the life of me I can't find the bloody thread again. Dominic.

    Sh** Happens

nwil, thats gotta hurt. I feel your pain, being a new Yeti (Greenline) owner and a bike rider (SV1000S) I completely understand how you must be feeling having damaged both. It seems quite petty now when either myself or my girlfriend notice tiny tiny marks inside and out of our beautiful monster and stand there asking each other "where did that come from?" Oh well, thats the price we pay for living in the middle of nowhere down beautiful (muddy/gravely) cornish lanes. Well, at least that explains the outside marks. Dom.
  14. How about, The Elegance spec gets electrically adjustable door mirrors even when you didn't order them or any other options other than the TPM. We got our Greenline ll only 9 days ago and it has these. Such fun. Dom.
  15. Ok ok , all done. And all gone you served me well little Polo.
  16. Well after a 5 1/2 month wait we've just picked up our Yeti Greenline ll Elegance from Carrs Skoda at Indian Queens on 10.9.11. All in all I think we have just dealt with one of the best salesmen and purchase experiences we've ever known. Our salesman, Mark Forrest, was very well presented, chatty (in a good way), funny and never pushy as in the normal clichéd salesman way. Yes, he did make suggestions, but was always polite whilst doing so. Over the course of our longish wait for our SM I asked many a question and he started to realise how much I knew about the car even before we had it, (all due to this site) but we still got him to show us how it all worked i.e. MFD. One of the things he did do for us is give us the free servicing pack for 3yrs as this wasn't available when we ordered back in march. We had the Westfalia detachable towbar fitted by the dealer and the one thing i did ask on 3 occasions was to please make sure that it was coded correctly i.e. picture on Bolero, reverse sensors disabled etc etc. I was assured on all occasions that it would be done correctly but I have yet to check this out as we normally borrow a trailer but it is unavailable at the moment. When I know the result I will post it here and in the Yeti towbar section. I did mention this site a week before we were due to pick up and that I was going to do a review of our dealings, whether this had any effect we will never know . It will be a year until we know what the service side is like so will let you all know then. So then, to close, a very good purchase in a very confident atmosphere (not cocky, like some) with a very good salesman (Mark Forrest) and what did we get? An absolutely fantastic Yeti which we've both fallen in love with Cheers, Dom and Sarah.
  17. Well here it is on the day we picked it up, which was last saturday. All pristine and shiny, well for about 10 minutes it was. Dom.

    It's arrived.

Most definitely, So near yet so far. Sometimes I've been known to be a pessimist so these last few days are killing me. Enjoy I am not Dom.

    It's arrived.

Cheers Valep. Hope you get yours soon.
  21. http://imageshack.us...8/img1402p.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...0/img1398k.jpg/ http://imageshack.us...3/img1400o.jpg/ Well it's at the dealers and we should (all going well) be picking it up next Sat 10th. It arrived at dealers at around 3pm this afternoon and we were down there by 5.15pm to have a look and sort out the reg and pickup date. So then, ordered at dealers on 26.3.2011 Built between 15-21.8.2011 apparently on ship on 25.8.2011 then of course it arrived at dealers today 2.9.2011 As far as I can tell, from whats been written on here, that is rather quick from build to dealer. I will put a review of our dealer (Mark Forrest @Carrs Skoda Indian Queens) in the review section once we have our Monster. Whilst I'm on the dealer subject, he has already done something nice for us as when we ordered the car Skoda weren't offering the free servicing for 3yrs but he has updated our contract to include this. How nice. And yes I do know the interior pic is blurry don't know what happened there. Don't think either of us is going to sleep very well for the next week. Dom.
  22. Well I had heard of google translate before but just couldn't be bothered to actually use it. Again though I did follow your link to have a look. It does a good job but I did have I little giggle at the direct translation with words all over the place. Thanks Johann. Dom.
  23. No worries, thanks. Was hopping it might have been a little newer. How exciting would it be to see your own new car pass you by on the back of a transporter, so can't wait for ours now. I did have a look at your link but as I can't read or speak French all I can say is that it had some good pictures Dom.
  24. Well guess what? Not only has it been bloody made but it's in transit and on the ship coming over Would anyone know how long it could take from being on ship to getting down here in deepest darkest Cornwall. Cheers. Dom.
  25. PS. If you don't mind me asking Johann where did you get the photo and on what date was it taken? Dom.
