  1. Update on our Scout Built week 21 and dealer said it is due with them this week. Getting excited now.
  2. We bought an Octavia 2 2.0 FSi Estate after a string of Alfas and yes, the Alfas were stunning looking with characterful engines but I what surprised me about the Skoda was how much more capable at covering ground, especially challenging B roads, is was than our most recent Alfa (a 156). We sold our Octavia after 7 years but we now need a capable and practical family car again an are hopefully taking delivery of a new Scout within the next week or so. Really looking forward to it now after waiting 3 months but it is a shame Alfa have nothing to offer in this sector at the moment. Your Scout looks great in white by the way.
  3. Here we go, Ordered: 21 March 15 Build: Week 21 Delivery: Mid June (approx) Spec: - Octavia Scout 150 - Race Blue - Chrome Window Surrounds. Dealer rang with build date last week. Should update me regularly.
  4. If thats the new Octavia then I'm quite excited. Looks lovely.
  5. I'm hoping that isn't it. It looked sharper in the drawings I've seen. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  6. Past cars have been:- Fiat Uno 903cc Fiat Uno 1.0 Fire Lancia Delta 1.6 GTie (loved it!) Fiat Tipo 1.4 Fiat Tipo 1.4ie Alfa Romeo 145 1.6 Boxer (sounded brilliant but trim fell off everywhere) Alfa Romeo 145 1.8 T/Spark (much improved) Alfa Romeo 145 2.0 Cloverleaf (loved it but too many niggles to keep) Alfa Romeo 156 1.8 T/Spark (lovely but flawed) Mini Cooper 1.6 (brilliant to drive) Currently Driving:- Fiat Coupe 20V VIS (totally reliable, individual - keeper) Fiat X1/9 Gran Finale (keeper) Fiat X1/9 1300 (awaiting restoration) Skoda Octavia 2.0 FSI (superb family hack) Fiat 500 1.2 Sport (solid, fun, cheap to run)
  7. Hi We've had our 1.2 Sport for over 3 years now but its only done 10K miles in that time. There have been no major problems apart from a split breather pipe which is a very common fault but a cheap fix. The only criticism I have is the rear suspension gets caught out by mid corner bumps and ridges and can bounce disconcertingly but you get used to it. The 1.2 engine is bombproof as mentioned before, but it needs to be worked especially up long inclines. We've never matched other peoples mpg figures (we average 38mpg) but i put it down to the hilly nature Yorkshire roads and it doesn't mind being driven hard. Road Tax is only £30, it keeps up with motorway traffic, seats two adults and two children in their child seats, its been reliable, fun to drive and it looks great. I must admit to being a bit of a Fiat nut, but we've also owned an Octavia for the last 6years. If a car is no good we sell it and I'd say the 500 appears to be a reliable as the Skoda has been so far.
  8. Door seals that don't creak. A turbo on my 2.0 FSI ! Other than that the car is perfect.
  9. Just joined up. Desperately need a practical family car so I've had an Octavia 2.0 FSi Estate ordered since July. Hoping to collect it within next couple of weeks. Its an Ambiente in Met Black with 17" Pegasus wheels and sports suspension so I can't wait to see it in the metal. Great forum. Will pop back with first impressions soon.
