  1. He paid £10 for his maybe £20 with a 32gb card. He’s got to prove he can hang on to and care for it before he gets a device like that.
  2. You can but it’s not voice activated.
  3. Most MP3 players don’t have Bluetooth Not hands free
  4. I’ve tried the Bluetooth again and it’s not playing. The 3.5mm to USB came today and isn’t recognised. It might have to be a 3.5mm to fm transmitter
  5. Thanks I'll give it a go for £6, and will have to plug the Echo in somewhere else for power, or get a hub, lots of drama for a £40k car that should be simply clever
  6. The way the car pairs with a pin number doesn't work with the echo, only speakers that accept simple connections when in pairing mode, I've tried pairing the echo to the car and the car to the echo, no luck either way.
  7. I picked up my replacement bear at the weekend and plan detailing all of the differences in what should be a like for like swap in a post soon. Aside from the removal of wireless charging which I was expecting the Kodiaq no longer has a aux in. As a consequence my sons MP3 player no longer plugs in. I understand the, ‘it’s 2019 use Bluetooth point of view.’ But I’ve recently bought an amazon echo input that uses the kodiaq Wi-Fi connection and the Aux in to give me great streaming music and radio, totally 2019! The speech on the echo unit and hands free waking is better than anything apple, google or skoda have so was a great setup. Now I can’t plug it in and it doesn’t work over Bluetooth. Does anyone know if aux in can be added? I suspect it’s not that simple as the menu option is missing from the Columbus unit too or do I have to go back to 2018 and plug in my phone to charge it and press buttons to get amazon music on the bear? Feels like a backward step.
  8. I do, but need to get them on my PC to post. One has what looks like a stone chip but is perfectly round and through the top coat, The other is the same but under the top coat. All are scrappy where the paint meats the diamond cut edges. Skoda have requested a survey from the body shop to take paint depth reading and will review.
  9. I agree and the ordering error I could have refused to take, so I’m happy I had a choice. It it just feels like a car built on Friday afternoon.
  10. Thanks for the advice, Skoda customer services are involved as my local dealer is not the suppling dealer so the work isn’t been done by the dealer that supplied it. Vwfs arent involves because I speced this car as a keeper and paid cash.
  11. I'd like to start this post by saying I love the bear, Having been a Superb Owner in the past I was expecting great build quality, simple controls and a great gear box. Added to this the lane assist, ACC, pano sunroof, huge clear sat nav, 7 seats, 4x4 LED headlights, it was everything I wanted and I like the Mag brown colour, it brown in the sun and black in the dark, and makes a change from the white cars I've been having. However so far the dealer forgot to order park assist, and having never sent me an invoice to review the car was built before I got to see the spec. Then then offered to reorder the car for me, but couldn't offer the same deal - Neither could anyone else, so not the end of the world, but I like toys. On the first trip out the SOS systems failed, and the car never stops telling me, every time you start it and each time it thinks I may have forgotten about the permanent orange light on the dash. Took it to the dealers, yes it a problem, no we can't get the parts. parts came in a month later, booker tha car in, three days later, the parts didn't come in, would you like your car back we have no idea when they'll come. Waited another month and had the first snow, to find out the sunroof leaks, and not a bit, like a water fall into the boot from both side where the drain tubes run behind the trim. So now booked in for two issues, also mentioning pitting to the alloys and a creaking from the front end, not major but needs to be looked at. Car went in, SOS fixed, but without any parts, just a loose connector (which Skoda assist say should have been replaced not reconnected.) But no luck finding an issue with the sunroof. this went on for 4 more weeks of them having the car and talking to Skoda UK. The it snowed while they had the car and they determined it was freezing weweather in the downpipes causing them to get blocked. Parts ordered but not ready so they keep the car for a few more weeks. The parts were additional insulation, not a fix to the physical pipes. 7 weeks after going in, the cars now 12 weeks old, I get it back, but without the alloys sorted, or the creak from the front (only at slow speed and when its cold.) To top all this off every part of trim and the headlining has been damaged by tool marks from the work so has to go back in for it all replacing. And the primary key, the shiny one is now faulty and needs to be replaced according to Skoda assist. The radio keeps loosing the presets too. The fix to the sunroof can be checked until it next snows, and the car needs at least another week in the dealers, keys are 14 days to come through and they need the car to program them. To be honest as much as I love the Kodiaq I've completely fallen out of love with mine, its just riddled with problems and I'm spending most of my time in an Octavia worth half the cost of my can, and its an giant advert for a dealer thats does substandard work. Not to mention 3 people have tried to get in the courtesy car assuming its a taxi! I'm tempted to reject it at this point and start over, I love the seats in the Sportline, but to get the level of trim I have now the config tool comes out at over £40k. Am I unique having these problems? my Superb had one issue and two services, I been tot the dealers more times in 3 months with the Kodiaq than I did with the Superb in 3 years. Also the eco mode on the superb and Octavia stays locked in, on the Kodiaq it stays in eco on the mode select but shows D on the dash and no coasting on the dash so its not working either.
  12. I wish I knew, it's been in the garage for over 4 weeks now for warranty repairs. At least if I crash it will be in their courtesy car.
  13. Odd thing is the non chrome ones feel cheap but are made from the same stuff for the most part, its the weight of the chrome I guess that makes it feel more posh
  14. I'm back! Its been 3 years since I sold the super Superb and left Skoda to mess around with an electric car, but now I'm back. I picked up my magnetic brown bear a week ago and love it. Especially all the new tech. The Superb was a nice car, but the 2018 spec Kodiaq is nicer. I went for a 1.4 TSI 4x4 DSG Edition with 7 seats. Added Pano sunroof, heated MFSW, Windscreen, LED pack, ACC, 360 Camera with front sensors. I also added park assist but due to a minor co*k up its not on the car. I would have gone for the driver settings option at £40 if I'd known it came with a key, and heated rear seats. Now to find someone with VCDS now to make a few changes!
  15. I got mine from Rainworth too, it worked the whole time, I found it really useful.
  16. If only there was an option for a limo style rising screen to seperate the front from the back....
  17. SSDs can see a big drop in performance if you read and write a lot and don't have TRIM support. If you did one load of songs you should be ok. My Columbus works from turning the key and selecting reverse, I get the tone to reverse, but the display take s a few seconds to show the Skoda logo and show the PDC display.
  18. Are these sold in singles? I'm a big fan of Cree leds
  19. The Octavias been ok, but this is the first thing I've seen on it that I felt was missing from the Superb. Thanks guys
  20. Just a quick question while my estate in the Skoda garage..... When I wash the rear window I get a single squirt in the centre on the rear window, it's never really cleaned it much. But I have an Octavia for the week and the rear washer sprays in a fan shape and does a great job of covering the rear. So is my Superb washer working right? It seems like the Octavia has a better designed one if it is.
  21. It can be in either mode, as long as they are on, you should see the bulb warning light for a second while they first adjust.
  22. I use a £2 picnic blanket because I can take it out and wash it. It does the job of protecting the base, I've never noticed any damage from the rear of the seats.
  23. Tbh I think it's a pain, but you get used to it. would be better if we had an auto brake like the Passat does
