  3. hi all i accessed VCDS as advised and this is the fault, it identifies 2 parts within the description My question is the faulty part is it the: headlight control module part -5MO907357C or the range module part Part No: 7L6 941 329 B, it also states "Sensor for Vehicle Leveling" which is yet another part in the front wheel arch. please dont tell me its all three!! i suspect its range module but a little unsure any help appreciated john ddress 55: Headlight Range Labels: 5M0-907-357-V2.lbl Part No SW: 5M0 907 357 C HW: 5M0 907 357 C Component: AFS-Steuergeraet 0148 Revision: 00H04000 Serial number: Coding: 1377095 Shop #: WSC 33361 790 00079 VCID: 34669F1A57B7ABE276-8060 Subsystem 1 - Part No: 7L6 941 329 B Labels: 3D0-941-329.CLB Component: AFS-Lst.-Modul l 0004 Coding: 00000021 Subsystem 2 - Part No: 7L6 941 329 B Labels: 3D0-941-329.CLB Component: AFS-Lst.-Modul r 0004 Coding: 00000021 1 Fault Found: 00496 - Sensor for Vehicle Leveling; Front 010 - Open or Short to Plus - MIL ON Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 11101010 Fault Priority: 3 Fault Frequency: 88 Reset counter: 22 Mileage: 157787 km Time Indication: 0 Date: 2016.08.03 Time: 18:01:24 Freeze Frame: Voltage: 14.06 V Speed: 46.8 km/h ABS 1
  4. Hi Sorry don't have access to VCDS so I'm flying blind a little, I was hoping it was a simple poor connection, but even if the headlight control module resolves the issue I will almost certainly need a reset through the dealer I just don't want the dealer to continually replace parts until they find the problem, that gets very expensive John
  5. Hi all 2011 Superb elegance 4x4 estate I have been through several of the threads for this type of fault and found them helpful, however I am now at a point where I need a little more help I have an AFS fault , lights are working but in fixed position, both lights facing forward but focuses very short, approx 10 m in front of the car, full beam operates but is so low other drivers have not flashed me when on full beam Actions so far I have checked level sensors front and rear nothing obvious, cleaned connections and greased ball joints I have removed bumper and headlights , removed curve light modules and cleaned connections, all look good no water ingress, no moisture in the headlights and all look spotless, also cleaned xenon module when there , also spotless So , I have got hold of a replacement headlight control unit, as a final test , so intend to replace but does anyone know where it is located on the superb mk2 estate. If all this is to no avail I may need to bite the bullet and make an appointment at the local Skoda dealer, however just had the ERG replaced and the Cambelts done so paid £1364 only 2 weeks ago, needless to say don't relish another massive bill for a headlight fault Thanks in advance John
  6. I had conti fitted when car was new, only got 10,000 on the front and 12,000 on the rear, never again Michelin seem best so far 25000-27000 miles from a set
  7. Mine does the same, i was puzzled for while, couldnt work it out, but its the torch, very random, ill try changing the batteries
  8. Hi The service book is a little vague , does anybody know whats involved in the 3rd service for CR 2.0 tdi 4x4 , 57000 miles completed. Thanks John
  9. I have replaced pads both front and rear, Front pads had sensor rears didnt!! I was a bit ****ed as the rears went through during a long trip and I had to live with the grinding noise for a week! This amazed me, I had a 1983 Lancia Beta and it had sensors both front and rear pads!
  10. I have had this happen a few times, after tyre fitment etc Reset worked every time, stationary, press once, press then hold till light goes out maybe i was lucky john
  11. Yeah I need to wait till closer to the end of the lease but I think my mind is now made up, just need to make sure I dont break it over the next few weeks!!
  12. Hi I had a similar issues when i bought a full sized spare the talked to the Skoda Mechanic, the stickers are there to inform and guide, the tyre 205 /55/16 Continental sport is not limited to 50mph (v rated i think), the wheel is a standard 61/2 "J 16 " and is not speed limited However this is a stadard spare issued to all superb vehicles of which there are numerous combinations of wheels and tyres. My car has 18" wheels with 225/40 series tyre, this means the tyre is 637 mm in diameter, the spare is 632 mm in diameter a 0 .78% difference. This is the reason for the stickers and guidance, the wheel is neither the same weight or diameter of the other wheels on the vehicle and therfore Skoda will play safe and suggest a limit Other wheels include: 225/45/17 633 mm, 235/40/17 620mm, 215/55/16 640mm All the combinations are withi the 2.5% guidance but are slightly different, not a problem if all 4 tyres are the same, however the spare by its nature will be used with all of the above tyre combinations and Skoda will allways play safe. thats my view anyway John
  13. Hi Damo I have a business lease, (fire service) , i contribute to the cost and use my millage allowance to pay 80% of the costs I think the monthy cost is around £510 / month based around 20,000 / year lease, this includes maintainence (tyres, servicing etc) I have had a responsec to my offer and they have reduced the buying cost to 12000 Starting to look atractive now!
  14. Hi On my 3rd set of tyres at 57000 miles. First set (Continental were really poor 10000 miles, never again) Michilin have provided around 24000-27000 miles , Dunlop around 18000-20000. Michilin seem to be the best , no complaints and good wet and dry grip However the 18 inch alloys with 40 series tyres are a disaster, if it was not a lease car I would have swapped for 17" or even 16" rims. 3 punctures so far , all too sever for the puncture kit, ended up buying a full size spare for piece of mind. Mostly A and B roads, 20000 miles a year
  15. I think the car is probaly worth arond the 11500/12000 mark, i need the 4x4 , live in the North East Scotland and im on call 24/7. The CR 170 4x4 estate is about as good (expensive) as it gets so its worth a few quid. The lease company have said they will give me the Auction location and date of sale , but its going to be 200miles away, im trying to weigh up all the pros and cons. My lease has maintainance included so I will get new tyres on the car about a month before the lease is up it will also have fresh road tax and a service at has just been completed. There is also the convinience aspect (im sure the lease company know that as well), no hassles just drive home and its mine. Ive got a month or so to make up my mind, thanks for the advice John
  16. Thansk I havve saved the image and will use to see if I can get a bit off thanks
  17. Hi After a changed keys on mine it now only opens if i unlock the car, even when its open. so before i would simply get out of the car press flap and bingo. now i get out and have to press unlock on the key to trigger the fuel flap the car has kessy and im think it maybe some of the options within the system Ill keep looking
  18. Thanks I have been looking around, its hard to find an equivalnt vehicle for the money, I could makethe lease company on offer and see what happens!! The car has a few extras, Park assist, KESSY, heated windscreen etc , was looking at an a6 quatrro but a lot older for the same money and no where near spec
  19. Hi All I have a leased Superb 2.0tdi 170 4x4 elegance Its been a great car, done 60,000 in the last three years, its in good overall condition and fully serviced etc As my lease comes to an end I enquired about buying the car and have received a quote of £13500 to buy at the end of the lease, as the lease includes tyres and maintainemce I can ensure the car has newish boots and full service prior to lease end. Is this a reasonable offer, i feel it is but i'm a little unsure, I havent spent that sort of money on a car before but I like the car and it hasn't had a single fault from new. any thoughts please John
  20. Thanks for the replys, I now have it set to open all doors, as said its done through MFD I think radio will work but not windows John

  22. Hi Its a long wait I ordered my Superb 4x4 Estate 170CR in last week of September and it arrived last week, so 7 months seems to be the wait. Very nice car, hope I made the right choice! J
  23. Hi All Thanks for the welcome. Did a couple of hundred miles yesterday Car returned 46MPG and considering I went over the Lecht (almost 2000ft and incredable winding B road) and the engine had only 150miles on it when is started I am very impressed seems I made a good choice!! John
  24. Hi all Im new to the Skoda scene but decided to order a new Superb (Business lease car) waited almost 7 months for delivery but it arrived last week. Very impressed, its a Superb Estate, 2.0 CR 170 Diesel, Elegance 4x4, Amathyst I have owned a few cars in the past and needed a capable, reliable large car for my work (on call emergency services) in north East scotland. Getting Blue Lights and Radio fitted shortly, hope they dont screw up the electrics as this seems to be a very complicated car with electric gizmos coming out of the wood work. I am hoping this will tick all the boxes, heading for a 200 mile journey today so i will see how the fuel consumption goes as I do 25000 a year its a big factor in my decision By for now John
