  1. Sorry for the delay in replying, thanks for the replies. I found the part number on the cable so I can easily buy the part but I have no idea where the wires go to. I've had the plug off the ABS plug behind the battery box but the colours arent there. It looks like the wires head into the car under the dash,
  2. Hello, I'm having issues with my 2005 MK2 Octavia. I have an ABS warning that I've tracked down to corroded ABS wiring. One of the wires is all black and corroded no matter how far i cut it back. I'd like to replace the wiring but I have no idea where the wires go after they disappear into the wheel arch, does anyone know? I replaced the hub and the sensor before all of this. Can a new loom section be bought from the dealers? Here's a picture of one of the wires. Thanks Callum
  3. Hello, Sorry to bump an old topic but my post seems to fit better in here rather than starting a new one. I have a 2005 Octavia MK2 I'd like to fit a keyless entry kit to. Could you guys take a look at this diagram and point me in the right direction? I know I'll need a 180ohm resistor but do I go with a positive trigger or the negative trigger system? Thanks 2014_03_06_09_13_48.pdf 2014_03_06_09_13_36.pdf
  4. Thanks for all of the replys, I appreciate it. I'll try the steering adaptation again and then do the steering stops. I think my problem is I'm trying to get it to work in the workshop and not following the prerequisites. I'll get vcds installed on a laptop and have a buddy help me out with it. I work in a tyre garage so I know my tracking is spot on. If I'd just replaced the battery before I messed with anything this would probably have gone away itself. I'm stuck driving an Alfa 147 Ducati Corse today, it's a fun little car with 170bhp but feels cheap compared to my Octavia.
  5. Hello, I'm having a problem with my mk2 2005 Octavia 1.9 TDI. One morning it wouldn't start due to a flat battery which has since been replaced. The yellow steering wheel light came on but the car drove normally and the power steering was working perfectly. I've had this happen before but the yellow steering wheel symbol eventually went away. I have a VCDS at work so I plugged it in and followed the instructions to enable the basic settings using the instructions here http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Skoda_Octavia_(1Z)_Steering_Assist#Adaptation Ever since I did that the power steering hasn't worked, the car is drivable but the steering is obliviously heavy. I've had an ABS fault on the car as you'll see in the log for some time before the steering issue so I'm wondering is this is the reason I can't set the steering up? Anywho, here's the log. 6. Hello, My driver side door lock has given up and I now need to get a door lock kit to repair it. I went on ebay for a look but every one I look at seems to be for the MK1. Does this kit still fit the MK2? I've fixed VW locks lots of times on Passats etc before so I suspect this one will be exactly the same. Thanks.
  7. Hello, Can anyone tell me how I would remove the exterior door handle from the back door of my 2005 Octavia 2? I've removed the door card and the little gromet thats inside the door in line with the handle but I can't see the usual spline/hex screw to remove the handle. The reason I want it removed is because I think the cable has snapped right at the handle.
  8. Hello, I'd like to get a towbar for my 2005 hatchback but I'm not keen on the idea of cutting the rear bumper to fit one. Does anyone know of a kit that doesn't require me to cut the bumper? Thanks.
  9. I'm a tyre dealer and this sort of thing happens all the time. If I get a customer in with a faulty tyre and it's an obvious manufacturing fault I'll just replace the tyre for them there and then and chase the replacement up myself. Michelin probably make some of the best tyres on the market but as with anything mass produced faults happen. I don't know why it takes so long for tyre company's to examine the tyre and get back to you but I've had the same problem loads of times. The customer is pressuring you to get it sorted, I pressure the wholesaler and who knows what the wholesaler does after that. You should give Vredesteins a shot, the new UltracCento's look the business!
  10. I repaired a puncture on my Octavia, it's been driving me daft the last couple of days with the wet weather having a soft tyre.
  11. Stick it on ebay and get what you can for it. You'd think that would be a quick sell as they must get damaged when the car gets rear ended.
  12. I did this on my Octavia a few days ago and it was pretty easy to do. The only problem I had was getting the lever on the gearbox to move to the right position. I ended up taking the 5mm locking pin (I used a nail too) out and doing the gearbox side first. It didn't seem to make a bit of difference in my case but good luck
  13. I'd avoid those marangonis if I were you. I stopped selling them due to so many faults and so did my wholesaler.
  14. I have an HTC Desire which I've rooted, I have 303mb of internal space, loads of apps installed and still have 58mb of space left. Here's how I did it... Rooted my phone using unrevoked: http://unrevoked.com/#desire Repartitioned the internal memory: http://www.alpharev.nl Installed CyanogenMod: http://www.cyanogenmod.com/ A2SD is another way to go but I found things loaded too slow.
