  1. Damn. My click4reg valuation was £1000, but I've only just realised that is an estimation they give you, not an offer. I also imagine it's in there interest to price it over its actual value since they make their money by charging you to list the item. For the the sake of a couple hundred and the hassle of having to sell it / find another plate for my car, it feels less enticing. Thanks for for help guys.
  2. Hi guys I took out PCP car finance in March of 2015, I'm due to pay the balloon payment this coming march and then I will own the vehicle. I wound up getting a number plate that contains the text WRC. I though I could possibly sell for a bit of cash. Question is, can I actually sell the plate until I officially own the car? Also so if anyone has any general tips on doing this, I'd be very grateful. Regards GD
  3. Cheers Pjam The image I included is from the owners handbook. I only included it so people could see the panel I was referring to, this wasn't reflective of the car I was looking at. Thank you for your response. I assume many of these are not standard in the VRS.
  4. Hi all I was having a look at a new MK3 FL2 VRS in a show room at the weekend and noticed this particular one had only 3 options on the control panel above the shifter. I believe this was stop start, central locking and another. I've included an image so that you know the panel that I'm referring too. I was just wondering if anyone had a list or diagram of all the possible features that can appear here. Ive traditionally always owned low spec cars with lots of blank plastic feature buttons were the operations would have been had they been selected :). I was a bit surprised and disappointment to see a VrS trim with so many empty slots.
  5. Yes. I was reading posts to this effect over in the 'what's the biggest threat to Skoda thread.' I don't have much experience with any VAG cars, but did notice in a very unscientific test that the sound insulation is one area where they seem to fall behind their equivalents. With the popularity of the many finance options available now, it's something they'll have to be aware of. It's a lot easier to justify the larger some of money for the VW or Audi when you can tell yourself it only going to increase your monthly payments a bit.
  6. I was hoping to get some information on how skoda undercuts their platform sharing rivals. I'm a huge fan of Skoda and I'm planning on replacing my swift with an Octavia Now that my daily commute is just a tad under 100 miles. I want something a bit more of a motorway cruiser with increased practicality and comfort. I can can remember about 10 years ago being teased by a polo driver for choosing the budget version of their car (Fabia at the time). I joked that under the shell they were the same car to which they replied that this was nonsense and that Skoda uses older components form previous generation production. To what extend is this true and what differences would I notice stepping from day, an Octavia tdi vrs to a golf gtdi for example? Regards
  7. Thank you both. Meteor Grey is the one I am after then. Looks fantastic, and I'm a little embarrassed to say that I might copy the blue parking lights too Channeling my inner teenager.
  8. Hi All Bit of a strange one. I follow an Instagramer with a beautiful mk3 Octavia RS/VRS that he showcases on there. (If you're not on there already Skoda has a nice big following and there are many great people to follow ) Here are a few snaps of his car. I'm keen to find out what colour this one is. The user states it is 'steel grey.' However I'm aware that not only are colour names alternated for different markets, some colours have discontinued etc. At present in the U.K we can configure with a colour called (meteor grey) which looks very similar, although in some images the users car looks to have an almost champagne colour. I'm more keen to find out the colour of his Mk3 FL 1 as I want be buying a Mk3 FL2 anytime soon Best Wishes
  9. Hey guys. I'm studying at University in England next year (i'm from Northern Ireland) so I'm selling my car on as I can't afford to run a car for 2 weeks at christmas and 10 during the summer. I'v listed it on Used cars NI at £1700 which might be a tad ambitious. I need it sold within the next seven weeks and was thinking about making a reduction on the price after the first week. What do you guys think I should be asking, baring in mind I do want to get it shifted quick, but don't want to rip myself off. thanks for your help Heres a link to the ad: http://www.usedcarsni.com/76442887 http://www.usedcarsni.com/search_results.php?make=28&model=1237&search_type=1&age_from=0&age_to=0&distance_enabled=0&distance_miles=50&distance_postcode=&fuel_type=0&keywords=&mileage_from=0&mileage_to=0&price_from=0&price_to=0&trans_type=0&grtkey=1312503141_ff37444c333fc44f9f3f94445fe15446
  10. Hey guys. A few days ago I noticed the cabin of my Fabia was absolutely stinking with a petrol smell. It actually gave me a sore head if I drove for more than 15 minutes. I took it a mechanic who noticed the engine cover wasn't siting on rite. Apparently the engine cover on a fabia actually acts as a seal for the fuel cap and dip stick. I knocked it off when I was dipping the stick to check the oil and that has caused emissions coming directly from the engine (where you pour the oil in and also at the dipstick) to blow into the cabin. Anyways, he says it could take a while (possibly a few days) for the smells to leave the system. 1 day later, it still hasn't so I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to speed this up. It's just quit annoying + passengers don't react well to a car that smells like petrol I'm also listing this car for sale at the end of the month. A cabin that smells of fuel has got to be a negative :'( As always, thanks guys.
  11. haha exactly, like a squeezed golf. Looks nice.
  12. Hey guys. I've just noticed that when I leave the lights on in my car, there's no ringer to to tell you, this is pretty problematic on those drizzely days when you turn your side-lights on. I keep forgetting to turn them off :'( Also there's not clicker when the indicators are in use. What could be causing this?
  13. Thanks, I'll put MFA and then in brackets the things it records. It's not a VRS unfortunately :( lol its a 1.4 MPI
  14. Het guys, I'm just in the process of listing my Fabia on an online website. I'm typing in all the features etc and I'm looking for the name of the feature that displays average MPG, current MPG, driving time, average speed, ambient temperature, time etc. Is this refereed as a trip computer? I'm just scared in case I mislead someone. Thanks
