  1. I'm with you, ordered mine late July. Was told EOY. Then got an update for a Jan build date & y'day got told build week slipped to Mid Feb now. What can you do eh... But it's a bit of a lottery depending on the spec you ordered it seems/semi conductors required for your car.
  2. Hi all, Can anyone point me to the local people near me SO31 - Southampton/Fareham (I'm in Locks Heath), or a link to a map of users who have VCDS as I have a problem and I need someone to help me triage an alarm issue. Just looking for some trouble shooting help. Regards, Mark
  3. Hi, no I didn't have to sign a waiver or anything like that but my order form says the same (31/12/2021). The dealer was open about being realistic it could slip into 2022. It is what it is, can't do anything about it....
  4. Just ordered (the very popular) Race Blue 60 Suite model with a fair few extra bits, not gone mad though. Delivery date of 31/12/21. Seems about right looking at others lead times. My last Octavia took 5 months so I'm cool with that.
  5. Hi all, I wouldn't mind increasing from (the default) 3 upto 5 flashes when using the lane changing indicator on the stalk. I have a friend (with VCDS) doing some other work on my car later this week & thought it might be handy to get it changed then. Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding this section in VCDS & even advising what to change it to also to help us out? Regards Mark
  6. How about a clock spring, do you have that available (sits behind steering wheel)? If so what is the part no on it & how miles on the car before u decided to break it up?
  7. Hi all, I just had my 2nd service at 49,000 & the dealer has said the 3rd is due in 1 year or 10,000 miles. Is this correct for a CR 2001 vRS? I though it might be longer that's all. I do around 9000 -10000 a year. I have a service plan from when I bought the car but I just want to check it's correct as I thought it might be 2 years or more miles? Thanks in advance Mark
  8. Eddie, mine maybe gone too. Is yours still available should I need a replacement? Regards Mark
  9. J306TD beat me to it. It gave off a creaking sound approx 18 months after getting it fitted. Sent from my OnePlus One
  10. Found out it was the rarb - too dry. Garage stripped it off & applied lube/grease. All good now. Sent from my OnePlus One
  11. Hello all, I'm considering a bilstien b12 with eibachs. Does anyone have any advice on experienced actual drop distance, best purchase avenues & more importantly pics of the car dropped. Also any ride thoughts would be good to know. I have MK2 FL 2011 vRS Octy. Thanks in advance Mark Sent from my OnePlus One
  12. Some quite amusing response there (Bishman!) & the rest is of use ta guys. Sent from my OnePlus One
  13. These should help as a visual guide Sent from my OnePlus One
  14. On the side of the boot lid & lining up on the boot there are these 2 plastic (seemingly adjustable) plastic bits. What does this do? My only thoughts are to do with the rear maxidot sensor for boot being open/shut, o r am I wildly off? Your greater knowledge is much appreciated. Regards Mark Sent from my OnePlus One
  15. I get a squeak from the rear, in damp weather. Previous posts from a couple of years ago suggests it a wet boot seal moving again boot door & I should lengthen my boot nipples (located on each corner). I tried this & 2 things happened. 1) maxidot said my boot was open when it was closed (I'm guessing I'd wound it out too much). 2) The flipping squeak was still there - lol. It think it could be seals though, makes sense its this now I've really tried to hear where its coming from. Can anyone else offer guidance on this subject. Ta Mark Sent from my OnePlus One
  16. +1 for Goodyear Eagle F1's. Got all 4 corners dine. Seem good so far. Early days but so far so good. Sent from my OnePlus One
  17. Cheers guys much appreciated. I'll crack on once mother nature decides to relent. Sent from my OnePlus One
  18. An 'anti lift kit' will help eliminate this. Many people make then, I opted for the White line variant & certainly made a difference. With need wheel alignment done after though as it changes the front end geometry. Sent from my OnePlus One
  19. I have got my pollen filter (fitted today) & an air filter today & I'm consider tackling this myself, first impressions suggest it looks simple. Am I right in thinking it's just a case of taking these 8 torx screws out and the filter sits just under the head cover? I have looked online but it just seems to be pictorials for TSI only (& I'm CR), it looks a slightly different configuration. Any guidance/reassurance is welcome. Cheers Mark Sent from my OnePlus One
  20. I must admit I am warming to this quite affordable way of dropping the car. I'm thinking (similar to what Chris has done) springs now & maybe shocks at a later stage. I bet the fitting costs are more than the springs though? Can anyone enlighten me on this one & send me a link to the springs (for me to hover my cursor over :peek: ). Is this correct? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKODA-OCTAVIA-06-VRS-2-0-30mm-PI-LOWERING-SPRINGS-/121410175749?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c449c4305#ht_6353wt_906 I'm looking for the same drop Chris achieved from his posted pics so i'm guessing the 30mm drop is the ones you used Chris (resulting in a nett drop off approx 10mm)? radders567 I have the same model/year of car as you, can you remember the parts no.? Cheers Mark
  21. You've inspired me to do the same. I've been mulling over it a while. I see you've not mentioned about changing the struts, am I correct in thinking its just the springs you change? Nice drop. I see your not too far from me (Whiteley junction - Fareham) did you use a local garage or did you do it yourself Mark
  22. Hello all, I'm considering the H&R cup suspension kit. I notice some people prefer to mix it up with Bilstiens shocks. Is there a reason for this are the shocks not too good from H&R? I see demon tweeks are selling at £565 for the kit but a US ebayer (looks legit to me) sellign for £465 ($780) plus shipping. Is around £500 a good price for this & can anyone say how much these kits cost to fit from a garage, from their experience? PM if you dont want to say to the wider community. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/suspension-kits/car/skoda/octavia-04-13-vrs/2011/2-0td/hr-comfort-suspension-kit-lowers-front-35mm-and-lowers-rear-35mm-2 http://www.ebay.com/itm/H-R-40261-2-Skoda-Octavia-Type-1Z-Cup-Kit-Comfort-Suspension-Kit-35mm-/121327338875?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3fac457b&vxp=mtr#ht_10000wt_1379 Also is the ride similar but with better dampening over holes & bumps or is there more? Excuse my ignorance, i've never changed my shocks & springs before & want to get it right & with your advise it should help point me in the right direction - here's hoping. Your help & comments are all welcome. Regards Mark
  23. I've just popped the same on all 4 corners of mine too this week. Early days but no complaints here. Just nice to have some tread. There is only so much time i'm able to get away with runnnig on slicks ( well 1.6mm!). The weather has been kind to me until I got a puncture on Suday. Glad I didnt get them replaced before the puncture!
