Having had 6 years of reliable and enjoyable motoring from my 2.0 TDI CR170 4X4 Elegance, I decided it was time for a change. Since the emissions fix the car seemed to do DPF regens more frequently. Due to future retirement plans I will not be doing enough mileage to stick with the diesel. I was offered a great deal by my local dealer so put pen to paper. I am now the proud owner of a Jungle Green 1.4TSI L&K Outdoor. I must have one of the very last L&K models ever made as I believe they are no longer being produced. First impressions. Lovely smooth and responsive engine. The brown leather looks better in the flesh. I love the panoramic sunroof. Park assist is very clever. I have only tried it once and it worked perfectly. There is a noticeable loss in braking performance, I did not appreciate how good the brakes were on the CR170. The headlight beams seem focused further down the road than the previous car. It also had very bright bi-xenon lights but they were dipped too low for my liking. I hope this one will give me as much pleasure as the old one.

I had my Bolero freeze on me today. I left the radio on whilst I was replacing the Front Fog Lamp (that's another story not worth mentioning here, other than it took around an hour to fit a new bulb), a message appeared telling me that I should power off the Bolero or start the engine to preserve the battery. I powered off the Bolero. Went out in the car this evening powered on the Bolero and it was frozen, no sound, no way to increase/decrease volume, no way to change channels etc.. Remembered reading this thread so went an pulled out the fuse (no 18) and hey presto it came back to life. I lost all of my stations and phone contacts but at least it is working now. My previous 2 cars (both VWs) had air-con recharges done as part of the 2 year service, but not Skoda apparently. I am on the long life service schedule and was surprised that Skoda don't do a recharge like VW . My Yeti has just hit 3 years old, and whilst having its first MOT I paid extra to have the air-con recharged. It has made a vast difference and is much appreciated at the moment. It was 30 degrees yesterday coming home from work yesterday and the improved air-con was very welcome. I did not realise how poor it was until I had it recharged, it was money well spent. I read that a car loses on average 10% of it's refrigerant every 2 years so maybe mine lost more but if your air-con appears to be not as good as when the car was new it is well worth having done. Apart from the dreaded badge worm issue and weakened air-con my car has been faultless.

The first time I had a 6 speed gearbox I found it took some getting used too. I had a VW EOS before the Yeti and found the gate was very small so getting the right gear was a challenge. I too would select 3rd when I tried to move up the box into 5th. I eventually got used to it. When I got the Yeti the gear selector was similar so didn't have a problem. if you get a manual with the 6 speed box you will get used to it I am sure.

I have had a similar problem when refuelling at a Morrisons Supermarket. I could not get any fuel into the car. It has never happened before or since. I swear the fuel nozzle was slightly larger than normal, hence not allowing enough air to vent.

Strange my nearside blade went two weeks ago after 20,000 miles. Offside blade was ok. I wonder if it is anything to do with the cold weather we have been having recently. . I purchased the Bosch aerotwin blades following recommendations on here, they seem to do the job.

Took the Yeti out today for a drive in the New Forest, had pub lunch and went for a walk. Plenty of snow left, but the car did not lose any grip even with standard tyres. I love this car, it never ceases to amaze me. Yeti by cgt, on Flickr

I bought my Yeti through this company last May. I enquired through the website about a car in February and they told me they could get me a car by May. I was told that they could get me a Yeti 2.0 TDI Elegance CR170 (my original enquiry was for a TDI CR140 but what the heck the extra 30HP might come in handy) so I paid the deposit of £500 to place the order. The car was obviously already ordered as the spec was what they quoted (Elegance TDI CR170 Brilliant Silver with Spare Wheel). The car arrived in May, paid the remainder and picked it up from Chesterfield. The car was delivered by trailer to their premises. The car had 7 miles on the clock. I am not sure how they got the car in 3 months when at the time my local Skoda Dealer was quoting 6 months at least for a diesel, but I was very happy with the deal.

I find this very annoying, my last car a VW Eos had exactly the same arrangement - so I think it is VAG group feature. It's a quick way to empty the washer bottle.

Ok maybe SLAM is a bit strong .. it's certainly doesn't shut under it's own weight, so needs a little PERSUASION. Thats a better description .. PERSUASION.

I find I have to give mine a good slam to shut it. It takes some getting used to, but as previous poster said it doesn't like being treated gently.

Yes - luckily the grass was only about 4-6 inches long and was well trampled by the time I parked on it.

My wife and I went to the Great Dorset Steam Fair today, and as usual the traffic was horrendous and had to crawl for the last few miles before entering the site and parking in a field. When I got out of the car I was horrified to discover it was going through a DPF regeneration. The heat from the underside of the car could be felt on my legs. The car park was a grass field that had dried to a straw like appearance. I was horrified as I thought that I was going to start a fire - I waited for it to cool but luckily nothing happened. Does anyone know if the DPF regeneration has ever caused a fire parked on dry grass ?

I have a similar problem - I have an incorrect number (it's missing the last digit). I have corrected it on my phone, but I have been unable to get the updated number picked up by my bluetooth function. I have given up and added a new entry with a different name !!
