  1. You guys should listen to the NEW perkins engine as used in the latest Massey Ferguson tractors like in the photo above. Sounds a lot better than the 170 TDI in my leon FR!
  2. Have a search on ebay, was one on sale a few days ago. Might still be available
  3. I have the leon FR with the same 170 tdi engine, This car seems to pull at much higher revs than your average diesel and believe me i have driven plenty. My car is also remapped to produce just over 200 BHP and when "pressing on" i dont change up untill around 4000 RPM.
  4. Yes insurance companys can and do find remaps, however no flash counter on the EDC15 ECU as used in the fabia vrs. The later EDC16 in the 105 and 140 tdi have a very visible counter. By the way just because a counter isnt added doesnt mean its not easy to find remapped software.
  5. Mart I am just down the road from you if you need anything checking out with your remap to see if its a fault in the software
  6. The Bosch ME7.5 ECU has two connectors for the wiring loom. They have a locking connector that needs pulling sideways to release the clip. Hope this helps
  7. Pleased to hear your all running fine again, any idea what he needed to do to get it going? Cheaper than a new ECU anyway! Is the car back to standard now or running a new remap?
  8. Just a quick tip.................... take the lupo ECU out and drive the Octavia Vrs! I have removed plenty of ECU's from both these cars and the lupo one is ten times easier to remove. If you do need the Octavia one out use plenty of WD or similar on the wiper arm and if its not moved before a sharp "blow" with a hammer can shock it free. Just be carefull near the windscreen. A very small set of pullers can be used to help also. With some practice and small hands it can be extracted between the scuttle trim and bulk head with removing anything.
  9. I use Special Delivery nearly every day and to be honest i find it an excellent service. The goods i post are £470 each and standard insurance covers for £500 so thats perfect for me. Use the big silver envelopes to keep everthing intact and it looks more attractive and profesional to the customer when the parcel arrives. Online tracking also works well and for the 460g boxes i post costs about £5. Now while strike is on i used DHL and same parcel costs £19.37! The staff are unhelpful and wouldnt even accept cash as a payment method, also no smart packing bags, just wrote address on the box in permanent marker. If RM lose 5.5p per letter why cant they just up the postage cost? I for one will pay extra for a good local service. I dont want to use other companys, my customers need the product asap and in some cases if its not there next day they dont want it at all. Next thing my local post office will be closing and it will be quicker to deliver my own parcels! Whats stopping them upping prices. Same as anything else in life i am willing to pay good money for a high quality service. My customers use us knowing they will get a quality product for a fair price. Surely Royal Mail should work along the same lines?
  10. As above. Its the torque you should be carefull with, thats what eats up your clutch! A strong remap on a 130 PD can top 300 lb/ft and your standard clutch wont like that much.
  11. The 163 BHP car doesnt flash well over the OBD port. Even the more expensive equipment often needs an offboard cable to comunicate with this ECU. PM me if you need any details.
  12. I have popped the seat airbag on my Ibiza Cupra before after hitting a brick on the middle of the A64 ! Needed a new airbag unit and seat covering. Also the airbag ECU needs recoding. Although seat cover was on back order so i was without the car for weeks.
  13. These KWP2000 as found on ebay are clones of the genuine tool and not very stable to say the least. Chances are your car uses an EDC15P+ ECU but the nearest option on KWP2000 will be EDC15P By the way dont go uploading ebay DVD maps! If a checksumm isnt corrected you will be locked out of the ECU with a non starting car and needing a specialist. PM me if you need more details.
  14. Revo for £250 ? You sure this is a genuine Revo dealer because clones of there tool are out there now! Just be sure before spending your money.
