  1. Pirelli tyres now fitted and pulling left problem resolved. Car goes straight as an arrow and follows road camber as expected. I'm a happy customer, birchwood eastbourne even vacuumed my car for me. Good luck to all others still trying to get the issue resolved.
  2. Getting my tyres replaced under warranty right now. Have been told that the pulling to the left has been resolved elsewhere. Apparently, on the vrs this issue can occur on either dunlop or pirelli but swapping the tyres to the other brand solves the problem. This has me puzzled... 3. I have found that some rattling comes from where the front doors meet the dash. I have ordered some self adhesive felt to stick in between these regions. The rattle had bothered me for three months so when I found what it was I was elated.
  4. I have this same issue... I was driving at night through Rodmell East Sussex and put my foot down to get up to the speed limit quickly. I was fortunate enough to switch to my high beams only to find a white van doing a 3 point turn on my side of the road just ahead of me. I'm almost certain I would have run straight into the side of him had I kept the low beams on as the distance they reach is just so short. I thought this was just the nature off dipped beams but it's good to hear others notice this problem too. I will see what my dealer can do and report back.
  5. Yeah Jay, I've only been on these forums a couple of months and the members are nothing but helpful. If you see a post you don't like then gloss over it and visit another thread. Enjoy your new car, it will be awesome and let us know how it goes. As others have said, George literally is the fountain of knowledge round here :-)
  6. Jay, it's "you're" not "your" Sorry, oli3000 mentioned correct English and all that... Also, grrr666 made an amazing post and I can't agree more with point number 2 of the public announement ;-)
  7. Octy vRS mkIII sticking its nose into the 2nd picture... Mmmmm. Want! Nice monte though :-)
  8. My fabia vrs mkII went in for a check up regarding a pulling left tissue. After birchwood skoda did wheel balancing and tracking check the car was still pulling left. They told me to expect a call in 2 weeks and from what I'm hearing here I will be receiving at least 2 new tyres... Bit annoying that it wasn't resolved in one visit. I can't complain though as birchwood have been nothing but accommodating.
  9. Grapo, that is a fine looking car, love the colour! You've also caught it at a great angle. That looks like a super road, may I ask where on the south coast that is? I'm currently riding around in a rapid 1.4 TSI courtesy car while my steering is corrected. The car was pulling slightly left so I thought a simple tracking correction would fix it, but the engineer who drove it said it needed a full wheel balance. Hmmm, I'm sure he knows best...
  10. Hey George, took the car in to skoda today about the pulling left. They have to send it to the local Audi garage to do a full wheel balance apparently, courtesy car will be provided. Anyway re: the oil. I delayed topping up because I knew I would be at skoda within a couple of days and they could top it up with the correct oil. It turned out that within a few days the oil level had gone well below the hatched area so I topped up with some Mobil fully synthetic 5w40 that met the VW 504 00 spec. It did only take 1 litre to take it up to max level, so not too bad I guess? I will keep an eye on the oil level, doing as you recommended in the other oil thread (cold dip, momentarily turn over engine and off again, re-dip) Loving the vRS though. Find myself cursing slow moving traffic much more than in my last vehicle.
  11. My brand new vRS has been booked into the workshop tomorrow for a correction to the steering pulling slightly left. However, today at 2200 miles on the clock the "check oil level" warning has popped up on the dash and indeed the dip stick is dry... I have to drive it 15 miles tomorrow to get to birchwood skoda so I will need to stop at the local automotive store to get a litre of oil. The slightly concerning thing is that I checked the oil about 2 weeks ago and the level was showing half way up the hatched area on the end of the dip stick. I hope I haven't got an oil burner :-(
  12. My blue vrs, day of collection, arty effect added, incorrect reg plate on (though this did give me an excuse to drive back to the dealer in it)
  13. I have a rattle on the passenger side in my new vrs mk2 and it turned out to be the storage compartment in the door. I think it's a separate piece of plastic clipped on. My girlfriend holding it steady cured the rattle. She now rides with me all the time and that's her job :-) Sent from Lumia 920 using Tapatalk
  14. Cheers for the fast reply George. When I checked the oil the engine was only slightly warm from the last run. I will cold dip tomorrow morning but even on the warm dip it's only a third of the way up the hatched area, so pretty low. I'm not too far away from the dealer actually and I need to go in and speak to them about the car pulling very slightly left even on flat non-cambered road so I will ask them for a litre of oil (or if they're unwilling to provide me that small favour at least ask them what would have been put in it).
  15. Hi guys, just the thread I was looking for! I have had my fabia vrs for just over a month now (2000 miles on clock) and I just got round to checking the oil. The level is about 1/3 the way up the hashed area, well below the full mark. I'm not sure how full it was when I took delivery of it but I would like to top it up. However, I wasn't provided any additional oil (not that I can find in the boot anyway) and I don't know what oil they put in there to begin with. Should i do a complete oil change as to be sure of no oil mixing or just top up with some branded fully synthetic 5w30 that meets the VW 504 00 spec? Advice much appreciated :-)
