  1. Taking advantage of the 3yr 0% finance with free servicing deal, I've just ordered a replacement Yeti for my 11 plate Elegance 4x4 DSG Tdi 140 Yeti. Replacing it with the same but a different colour - Bronze. The money they'll give me for mine will pay for 29 out of the 36 repayments. So I'm getting a new car, serviced for 3 years for what I've already paid for mine, and a hefty deposit on a new one after 3 yrs. As mine will soon be out of warranty, and need a new set of tyres and probably pads, and a 3 yr service you can add another £800 saved on to that. Seems like a bargain to me. Still trying to work out what's in it for VAG finance and failing. They stipulate the fixed 12 month / 12000 mile service plan as well, which is just mad, costing them even more money. But like Skoda dealers, they don't seem to know the difference between the variable and fixed servicing schedules. 3 dealers have told me it's the grade of engine oil that's the difference, but according to the handbook, both plans use the same oil. I'll happily let them charge each other for unnecessary servicing. One other thing, according to the Skoda website, the new facelifted model will be available from October, so how come I'm going to have to wait until December for a non facelift? Surely they are not running 2 lines, building the old and the new? Maybe they are building the old in a different factory?
  2. The formation was my idea. I think it sort of went , after some counting on fingers and toes, "we can spell out Yeti on the slope". This was met with enthusiasm, much to my surprise, and a plan formulated in only minutes. I was then No 2 in the return to civilisation from the frozen north convoy.
  3. The rEvoke; a so called Range Rover that is no such thing. I have a Range Rover P38 (that works), a Disco 1 and a Yeti. given a free choice, I'll take the Yeti. Mainly down to fuel consumption, but I do love that DSG, and the others have ZF autoboxes I tried to have a test in a rEvoke. I couldn't get in it. It's a footballers wife's car, like a Range Rover sport , also not a Range Rover, is a footballer's car. But they make LR loads of money.
  4. Mine was changed at the last service as part of a special replacement programme. The wheel badges need doing too, but it had steel with winter tyres on at the time.

    Dirty Big Foot

Found a short green lane near Newbury, very muddy despite the recent weather.

  7. The Yetis escaped to play. But one got left behind. The big predators watched from cover, waiting. The others played some more. What idiot thought of writing by car? Oh, as you were. Thanks guys. Had a good day. It was good to see that the Yetis were by far the most organised model group.

    Yeti

Yeti on its first day, finding fords and greenlanes in Berkshire.
  9. Having had a Diesel 140 DSG Elegance Yeti for 2 years now I can say there is nothing to be said against the car. I also have a 300tdi Discovery and a 2.5 DSE Range Rover (the Yeti is faster, uses much less fuel, is equally good off road, but a bit more delicate) and cheap VED. It replaced a 260 hp Mazda CX7 2.3 petrol turbo 4x4 (huge VED and 22mpg, great in snow), which replaced a 150hp Mazda 6 sport (useless in snow), which replaced a 260hp Mazda RX8 (most planted car ever, but 21mpg and liable to cut out when given beans), all great cars, but I'd take the Yeti over any of them.
  10. I think it does Clive. I've played with the scroll and the clicks and all the setup in the MFD, and I'm fairly certain I don't have AUDIO in the display, as I have a Kenwood. Its beginning to look like a software problem/misalignment due to the Kenwood unit and the car system getting confused, or me. The button with the cicular / back symbol does nothing to the Kenwwod Audio, just the MFD. Can't check now,as the car's in London and I'm in the Midi-Pyrennes in my Discovery. It'll have to wait until the weekend. TY
  11. It's a UK Elegance.
  12. Ah, the manual made this not clear. I'll check when it gets back to la Belle France. TY
  13. My new 2011MY 140 4x4 Elegance has a couple or 3 faults that are because either I'm not setting it up correctly or just they just don't work. 1. The door mirrors should tilt downwards when reverse is selected. Manual not clear on which side or both, anyway, neither do. 2. Rear wiper should park on alternate sides after 2 engine stops. Setup using by 5x on contol lever. Doesn't do it mister. 3. Memory seat settings can be assigned to seperate ignition keys, P1 for Key 1, P2 for key 2. Not at home. 4. Kenwood radio/sat nave changes radio station or cd track when the steering wheel r/h scroll switch is used to operate the MFD. Very annoying. I've semi sorted this by disconnecting the steering wheel remote wire from the back of the set, but this means no remote volume or channel change from the LHS buttons that did work properly. Can Anyone with a Bolero radio confirm what happens when the scroll switch is used? The dealer neglected to supply my Bolero after fitting the Kenwood unit before delivery. Can anyone confirm that the above functions work or don't work on their car? The manual has several discrepencies with fact, and sometimes disagrees as to which side things are. A consequence of having a ******ised RHD car I suppose. Tuppy14
  14. Hi I've just taken delivery of a 140PS 4x4 Yeti Elegance, after a 4 month wait. Almost Very Impressed with it so far. Just trying to make it do all the things I think the manual says it will do. I get the feeling that some things are lost in translation of the manual. Anyhow, I'll ask the questions in the appropriate forum. Not my 1st Skoda, that was an Estelle, and quite an experience. Good job I count mechanicing as one of my trades. The Yeti is adding to the stable of 2 x LR 300 tdi Discoveries, a P38 Range Rover DSE, and replacing a Mazda CX7 260PS turbo, so it comes in as the smallest 4x4 of the pack, but the 2nd most powerful. Cheers chaps and chapesses. Tuppy14 Englishman in Normandy
