hi guy's just started 2 notice that since its got colder my vrs turns over really slowly, it starts fine but was wondering if this means my battery is getting tired and is maybe time for a new one? what do you recon am i right or is this just normal for this time of year with these car's as its my first diesel. thanks nathan.

hi matt no definatly not gearbox cos it does it if you rev it in neutral at stand still, def turbo noise m8.

i have a faint whine like a police siren when the turbo slows down when your slowing down in 2nd and 1st its not really loud but definatly a police siren sound, doesnt do it when accelerating just get the normal whistle not the whine, it is loader when the engine is cold and gets quiter after about 5 mins of driving, been doing this for 3000 miles since i got the car, is it something that will get worse and then i will need a new turbo or could it just stay like that from now on, just a bit concerned about the turbo going bang, please help guys.....

just get your local garage 2 do them, parts cost about a tenner and mine charged me £25 to fit !! not worth messing about doing it yourself m8.

i bet its the arb bushes m8, it can only be one of the following- consol bushes (front wishbone bushes) or rear dogbone mount. drop links. arb bushes. shock top mount bearing (unlikely). Trust me m8 my arb bushes looked fine (no play), but i changed them and knocking went !! do the bushes i bet its them buddy.

i had the same thing changed all the same, ended up being the arb bushes, have you changed them????

does it sound like a hoover going on and off buddy?????

EGR thing activating maybe?????

guys what is this sound i here where my vrs is idleing sounds like a hoover switching on the off????, i think it only happens when the engine is started from cold.

just a thought but it couldn't be leaking injector or injecter's could it, i just want piece of mind that nothing is wrong that i have to worry about, cos im happy with 40-42 mpg.

Any other idea's guys ??? mixed driving mostly taking it easy still cant see any more than 42 mpg, is this right??

hi guys just a quick one, to cut a long story short i've accuratly worked out my fuel computer on my vrs to be showing 22% more mpg that what im actually getting, for example showing 51 mpg and only getting 40 mpg real life, is there any way i can sort this out, thanks guys.....
