  1. Hi everyone, Today I took my Skoda Yeti 1.6 Tdi for the first service at the local dealer (15,000km). A few hours ago they informed that there is severe oil leek below the engine cover (sorry I do not know much about mechanics and cannot be more specific). They ordered a replacement part for it and they are keeping the car for around a week (that's how long it takes for it to arrive). No warning lights, no change in performance at all. They simply spotted it on the garage. Anyone had similar problems with the specific engine type? I will appreciate your input. Thank you.
  2. Yes, that's it exactly ! And I am afraid the problem will increase since it started with the drivers door/windows which is the only one being used at the moment. With time is likely that the rest of the windows will follow.. :( I am taking it tomorrow for an oil change and I will mention the problem to see if they can do anything about it but I am afraid that problems like that one cannot really be fixed. Where did you buy the "Gummi Plege" from ?
  3. Hi guys, This is my 3rd month owning a Yeti 1.6 Tdi Greenline and I have already driven 7500km with it. Very pleased overall, especially with fuel economy which is fantastic ! However, one thing worries me and I am not sure If I should really be bothered with it: some weird noise/rattle which I think comes from the drivers door/window. It first appeared around 5000km and I can hear it usually only when I start the car and in low speed town driving - it dissapears completely on higher speeds and motorway driving. I am dissapointed since I've read the very best for the Yeti's built quality (remember the impressive review by Clarckson...). Anyone else had similar problems ? I've search the forum for similar cases and read some of them but I couldn't really get an answer. Thank you all for your time.
  4. Yes, it's a manual. Actually is the greenline edition and it came with a start/stop function which i did not expect. I choose the Se trim level with the extras i mentioned above. I also arranged a trade with the dealer i am giving them back the inflator and sealant and they are fitting a spare wheel next week. As far as the cruise control it's indeed very usefull and i think you can have it installed afterwards. It costs 200euros to add it as an option when you buy a new car but i've seen it for sale on a skoda accessories web page for half the price. Let us know your impressions when you get yours.
  5. It's candy white with the following options: Bluetooth, bolero radio, cruise control, rear parking sensors and rain sensors (pretty useless in cyprus i know ). I am driving daily from Larnaca to Nicosia and I wanted a car with good fuel consumption. So far I am very satisfied with everything. Is a pleasure to drive and the overall quality is excellent. My only complaint is that it came without a spare tire (sealant and inflater instead) but hopefully the dealer will resolve that soon.
  6. You are not alone ! The design there is a bit faulty i believe...
  7. Hi there, I am in Cyprus too. I just got my Yeti last week. It's a 1.6tdi greenline. From which town's dealership are you buying from? My delivery time was about 3 months by the way
  8. I ordered mine on May 31st and was given a delivery estimate of October 3rd. To my suprise I got it on August 29th. It's a 1.6TDI.
  9. I think i found a solution ! It seems that the yeti updates the phonebook only when there is a change in the number of contacts and not when there is a change in content. When I updated my phonebook with all the contacts in latin characters, nothing changed because it was the exact same number of contacts. I then added one to test it, and everything updated fine and works prefectly. So I believe that's the way the specific system works...but then again i may be wrong..but it did work for me !
  10. Hi all, Just got my new Yeti yesterday. Very positive first impressions, but I am having some trouble with the bluetooth's phonebook. I have no trouble connecting my iphone and using the system (it works great actually). My only setback is the phonebook. At first, I had all my conctacts in Greek so I considered it only natural to be unable to view the phonebook correctly on the yeti's screens (unreadable characters appear, mostly squares ). On my first attempt, I noticed that a few of my conctacts who were written in english on the phone displayed fine, so I reached the conclusion that greek characters were the cause of the problem. After a lot of work ( i spent hours) i updated all my contacts on the iphone and converted them into english but to my suprise...when updading the phonebook nothing changes ! Still unreadable characters ! I tried many things, deleted my account, created a new one, switched off sync from the phone and updated again (clean phone book), connect once again but the issue still remains. Anyone had any simiral problems? I"ll appreciate any suggestions. Probably not a big deal, but the bluetooth function is much better than what I expected and I really want to go for the full exprerience Thank you all for your time !
  11. No, paid in euros. I just made the conversion before posting for reference
  12. Good morning, I am not sure if this is the right place to post so my apologies in advance I know this is a UK forum but I did not find a better place for this. I am from Cyprus and I've just ordered my Yeti yesterday. It's a 1.6 TDI Candi White with the following options: Cruise Control (175 GBP) Bolero Radio (350 GBP) Bluetooth (350 GBP) Parking sencors rear (350 GBP) Lumbar support (150 GBP) Glass storage (26 GBP) ESP/ABC/ETC ETC (525 GBP) Auto dimming rear view mirror & rain sensors (150GBP). - Initially I have included the Tyre Pressure Monitoring system instead of this this one, against the dealers suggestion, who claimed that the extreme heat we have here might be an issue for the sensor - returning false warnings. What do you think about that? (Keep in mind that for at least 3 months a year we have temperatures that can reach up to 45 celsius and its never lower than 30 celsius from June-September.) The total cost of the car is 18,425 GBP (which I believe is higher than the UK) and the estimate delivery time around 4 months.
